Add dark mode on new Fitbit app

Disappointed that there is no dark mode option given the awful app update to a block of white - very hard to distinguish sections so if you are vision impaired or have dry eyes it’s just not comfortable to engage with anymore. It’s so infuriating given that I preferred my Fitbit app layout and data to my Garmin one which I use the running.

PLEASE ADD THE SETTINGS OPTION, for a DARK MODE SCREEN, on the Phone app. The white background is absolutely blinding and horrendous to look at, in the evening. Virtually every other app, has that setting option…

Any updates on this? Believe it's been around a decade since this was first requested. And especially with the web dashboard seemingly no longer available.

Still no updates on this?!?!  I would have thought it would have be available with the new update.

I understand I can press "Vote" and that's awesome and all. But can we please implement dark mode in 2025?! The fact Google is unable to provide dark mode support is hilarious.

Edit: Extra irony points as this forum here is a flashbang when browsing at night. It is astonishing such basic things are not functional neither in this forum nor the app itself 😵💫

Dear Fitbit team,

I'm actually so so disappointed and confused about how incompetent you guys must be that you haven't shipped this basic feature in the second half of 2025 already. I'm honestly considering other options by now, just because of how few features this app gets over time. But fixing and a few design improvements here and there aren't the things I want to see. I want big redesigns, dark mode and AI features that help me understand my health data better.

And you haven't even managed a dark theme yet. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Shame on you.

Half of 2025 has gone by and still nothing...

I was going to submit a few ideas but having seen that something as basic as dark mode has been under construction for over 2 years, I won't bother. Back to apple watch it is,at least it works.

Fitbit in dark mode finally. The app developers got away with being lazy for long enough that the Android OS team did it for them.

Nice, about time. Why has it taken over 2 years to realise that your app isn't accessible?

I guess the Android team embarrassing you by using your app as an example of apps that don't behave with dark mode properly has spurred you into action lol. None-accessible apps like Fitbit are why they've added expanded dark mode to Android 16 QPR2.

Unfortunately when I go to the play store using a Samsung s25 ultra it tells me I have the latest version already, which is version 4.49. I assume it's rolling out slowly, and why would they start with one of the best selling phones.... 😕 I assume in another year or 2 there will be an update. Just in time for me to get a new device and for it to revert back to the old version again.

It actually took YEARS to make this simple change to the app, but my phone is still on ver 4.49. How do I make the play store update to the newest version?

Wow.. After 9 (nine) years of this being requested/needed by your customers I finally got the update yesterday (September 7th 2025).

It's too late. Ive already moved on and understand Google doesn't care about the Fitbit brand in general and getting rid of Fitbit.

The Fitbit was such a great brand and Google should've kept it up and improving it like Samsung and Apple watches. Fitbit would've been and remained great if you had just listened to customers for over 8 years.

Fitbit had such a great variety of watches and different sizes over the years and when Google took it over they dropped the ball tremendously and gave up on us users.

The Pixel brand is sub-par compared to Samsung and Apple and it seems like Google stopped caring about Fitbit for the Pixel brand, but Google isn't even doing much with that brand just like with their smart home products, which has also been very disappointing as there have also been no updates to our devices.

I also invested in Google long ago and sold all of my stock because this company isn't really going anywhere.

Google, get your ish together (pardon my french) and listen to your customers and improve and work on your products.

Your brands are suffering as a result of not listening to us.

App store says app isn't compatible with device anymore, and to contact the developers...  so...

I'm unable to upgrade app or see dark mode settings.  Using Samsung Galaxy S8, I use stuff until it breaks, and, I try to not break stuff.

I appreciate the notifications about updates to this topic.  I often reference this topic when providing people with an example how not listening to Customers is a great way to frustrate and lose them.

Open Source the old app, you're obviously too busy with other things.
