Add more mood and feelings options

I’ve just started using the stress management feature since it popped up; or at least, I’ve gone in and checked one of the boxes periodically. I feel like a scale with 7 options vs 5 might be easier to respond to. As in, I might not feel “stressed” at a given moment, but might still be somewhere south of truly “neutral”; neither answer is correct.

Yes, more moods would be great. I personally miss a "I feel tired"-option.

I have been a long time user of Fitbit and have loved watching Fitbit expand the capabilities of it's watches over the years. However, it's kind of disappointing to see that this idea was suggested over two years ago and has not yet been incorporated into the software for the newer Fitbit models. More detailed mood tracking, or even the option to label your own moods for tracking, doesn't seem like a particularly complicated change to make (though I'm not a developer so I could be wrong) and it could allow for the development of algorithms that help link certain mood states with changes in psychophysiological measures such as HRV and EDA. I utilize HRV and EDA data in my academic research and think it would be fantastic if there was a way for Google/Fitbit to utilize the data it collects to provide users with more detailed predictions or assessments of the links between their mood(s) and bodily responses. Daily readiness and stress management scores are nice, but they don't provide a lot of detail or actionable insights based on the underlying data. I'd love to someday see Fitbit (or Google or any other smartwatch/fitness tracker) get to the point where people can use the data collected by their smartwatch to better predict and prepare for periods when they may be more at risk for elevations in their anxiety, depressive symptoms, anger, etc. It's helpful to see ebbs-and-flows in my moods, but it seems like technology may be advancing to the point that we can go beyond simple mood tracking.

I work in a job where I often have to think really hard. I've found that I often get a body alert when I'm thinking hard and sometimes I am anxious about the thing I'm thinking about, but other times I'm just really focused. It would be nice to be able to differentiate those responses. I'm not "happy" or "excited," just "focused."

I agree with alot of these suggestions. I'd also like an option of logging unwell, fatigued or something similar. I use my fitbit to monitor health/activity/stress levels rather than fitness.

A suggestion for the next update is to add several more moods to the mindfulness tab. Every mood isn’t there to best describe a persons mood.

I agree, most times I choose calm, bcs other suitable moods are missing. I d like to have options like okayish, normal, neutral, busy working (problem solving) or something like that...

This is to the moderators, you tell us to check these blog suggestions and it says under consideration but this was posted in 21! And I don’t see what I was requesting which is to add a note or comment section, then we can say why we are feeling stressed.  It could be a great tool to find trends.  Like am I stressed because I have a headache, or lack of good sleep, not eating right and so on.

I feel like there needs to be a variety of moods and that sometimes I am feeling something that isn't on the list. Like someone might be feeling sick, anxious, lethargic, overwhelmed...

There are period trackers out there with a wider variety of moods. I just feel like fitbit should be providing a lot more moods for their period tracker feature as well as the general self reflection feature based on body responses.

I would love to see the option of being in pain added to the mood options of stressed, frustrated, calm etc. Often my heart rate is elevated because of pain and has nothing to do with my mood.

Please add more options for how a user feels when Sense2 detects a body response. I get asked gow I'm feeling when I'm tired, annoyed and especially when I'm having a hormonal hot flash, but the current options don't even come.close to.how I'm actually feeling.

Echoing the above - the range of emotions is far too limited. There are some basic options missing, e.g. Angry (stressed is the closest we have).

A few posters have touched on this, but it's worth a more nuanced explanation:

A custom entry feature on the mood log would be an enormous move towards inclusivity for the ~800 million people who live with a range of different psychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders and conditions that prevent them from properly identifying their emotions (alexithymia), as well as the many more who are subclinical and simply struggle to identify their current emotional states. These are diagnoses like Autism, ADHD, PTSD, Schizophrenia, depression, and traumatic brain injuries--we are excluded from usage of this feature as it currently is.

A custom mood log feature (maybe along with a guestimated emotion and a voice-to-text and type chatbox for the custom entry) would also allow people to identify specific situations or environments that are triggering to them in certain ways that they weren't aware of if it hadn't been for biofeedback. I'd love this data presented together in some overview way too, so you could see common trends in your custom entries. This would also be a great way to encourage mindfulness.

Basically, I wish I personally could custom log what I was actually doing at the time of the detected body response, especially since the body response alert often comes many minutes after the event (at least on my pixel watch 2) and I can't hit rewind on my emotions and analyse them, it needs to be in the moment or close-to. This would infinitely expand the use of his feature and I would use this feature multiple times every day, as would literally millions of others.

I know that you can log stress, neutral, and calm. But I feel like they should have it so that you can log other feelings.

Agree with need for more moods but see how this could quickly get out of hand. Best idea so far: a scale ranging from content to stressed out. Users plot response along a continuum, maybe color graded green to red. End day/week pie chart for reporting.

This has been constantly requested since 2021 and the app still doesn't have more moods. I think the mindfulness sensor is useless if the software can't make use of the data properly, it's not accurately reflecting how we actually feel.

It's a no brainer that people feel more than 8 moods, I'm surprised this hasn't been added into the app by now considering how logically it would make sense to do so to encourage people to use the mindfulness sensor.

I give up using mine as it's currently pointless to me without the accurate emotions. There's also nowhere to log why you were in that mood which doesn't help.

Sure, I can't breathe and take a short walk but it's not addressing why I'm feeling negative in the first place.

Can this be escalated to the Devs please?

Typo there, sorry! * Sure, I CAN breathe...

Agree it would be more helpful if addressed. But not sure it's realistic
for a tracker to capture all emotions AND why we're feeling them.
That's why I suggested a simple continuum, one emotion -- STRESS. Color
coded green to red, ranging CALM to STRESSED, with 1-2 cue words in between
(agitated, anxious)..

Stress management and stress alerts are biased and completely wrong. You should either be able to write what you want as "emotions" or add stresses other than emotions. It's such a shame because the sensor is great but it detects emotional stress as much as physical stress (fatigue, pain, menstruation) we should add these physical stresses.

Exactly!

The sensor seems great, but the utility of it is completely and utterly
pointless. Is there anyone who actually finds it useful? I'm dubious.
