Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

Hate the new look. What were you thinking? Now need glasses to use it. Why can't we go back?

I totally agree with the posters who are asking that we be given the option of using the old interface. I liked the tile format that was clean, simple, colorful, and could easily be personalized - not a list that requires scrolling! I'm also on the way out with Fitbit. Just had a customer service issue regarding sleep settings not working and now this update!

The new dashboard look should have been coupled with a fix for the mounting notifications in the app. Now that's the real issue!

Not ring notyifications is an app update, and not part of the new UI

The notifications that mount up in the app. Ring notifications don't show up. It's the replies to posts, cheers to posts, likes to posts.....those notifications!

Wish there really had been a choice, but there actually wasn't.  I saw initially on my phone (android) that if we switched couldn't get the old one back.  I thought that made zero sense, because how do you know if you want to switch if you can't see it first.  I liked what I had, so elected not to switch.  However, the next time I did a sync...........the new one was there, I couldn't get off the screen to see my stats, or log my water etc without agreeing to it.  I still didn't agree to it.  I turned my phone off and back on thinking something was just "off".  That didn't work.  The new version was still there, stuck on that one page, making the entire app useless.  So regrettably I switched, was the only way I could the app at all.

Much preferred the older app.  Finding what you needed was much easier.  I liked the look better as well.

The line up on the bottom, Discover, Today and Community aren't helpful. Settings doesn't even appear on the front page.  I never use Discover so having it so prominently displaced just takes up space.  Everything you might want to do is hard to get to...because you first have to search for settings.

So, I hope they make it such that everyone has the option to return to what they had, as well as give those who've chosen not to switch the option to see and try it before they switch.

Hate the new look! It is boring and not motivating at all!

The old design was easier to see and interpret data, I really dislike you need to click through to get info. Please go back!

I hate the dashboard and didn't even see an option to keep the old dashboard.  I previously could see both by Charge 2 and FitBit Zip on my Iphone and can longer do that.  Please give the option of going back to the old look.

I was told to comment on this form regarding the new dashboard, which I hate! Let me go back to the old one. First the font has been reduced in size, making it very difficult to see. Then the new layout hides most of the options, and for me, out of sight means out of mind.

Let us have the option  of either the new or going back to the tried and true dashboard. I have been looking at a new Fitbit, glad I haven't purchased one, as I'll be looking at other options now. Don't mess with something that is not broken, and the dashboard was not broken!

By the way, what happened to the trails you could experience? Another fun addition that has disappeared.

Not happy at all!

Maybe with  the new FitBit app we can start tracking the amount of time and calories we burn everyday trying to figure out how the new app works?  I was going to workout this morning but I'm still trying to figure out the new app.

Pls doNot reply to my post. Post your opinion separately on this page.

Please give your members a choice!

I really dislike the new app appearance. The old one showed all my info at a glance. Now, with the line apps, I habe to page down to see everything.

Also, I did NOT "try" the new apprearance, my phone automatically updates everything. So I only found out this morning when I looked at my dashboard.

My vote is ditch it or let people choose like they do with which i ons to choose, etc.

I've been updated to the new app version and I find it to be terrible pretty much across the board. Please reverse this! I don't see ANYTHING about this that is an improvement over the old app.

  • This version is far less intuitive
  • This version requires scrolling around and clicking through to dig for and interpret information that was available and understandable at-a-glance on the old version
  • It does not appear to be customizable in any way that would make it more understandable and useful, like the old one was

I don't understand why anyone would think that this is an improvement over the old app. Reducing readability and flexibility and increasing the amount of work a user has to do to get at information is not an improvement; this version is a huge step backward from the previous version. . I hope you'll listen to the community and revert this change.

@YojanaFitbit@AlexandraFitbit-So far I could see in this thread has been managed by you guys.

Do you think the fitbit users deserves an explanation or solution rather than moving the post here and there or just keep quiet and watch?
Is this community meant for this?

What are the action you have taken already about this subject? What are the action plan you going to take on this subject?

If you continues the same, the no point of posting/arguing on this community because if you go to customer support they also don’t want to give the proper explanation rather redirecting to this community.

To all users, as one of our mate in this thread said, provide your rating and comments on app store/play store so that new users/buyers know this and decide or else they will end up like us.

The new layout sucks big time. Return to the arrangeable  dashboard. If you're going to do a list style layout why would you not make it arrangeable? Why would you put the 2 inputs you use the most(water, food) at the bottom of the list? I didn't have the option to do the update, mine did it automatically.  Bring back the old format!

Had I known the changes to the dashboard ahead of time, I would have declined the update!! The new dashboard is visually unappealing. The previous version was great to look at and so easy to manage so that I can see the stats I want to see. I am still trying to figure out how to get rid of "Log your period" --- I'm 61!! If this can't be customized, it just feels like a cheap knock-off.

I was forced to update yesterday, and I really want my old layout back. I hate the new design, it's a definite reject for me!

I liked the tiles much more than this list. It was bright and motivating, I loved the happy fireworks when a goal was reached. Now everything is plain and bland. I can't see everything I want to at a glance anymore. I don't want to spend more time sifting and scrolling.

I am in this app multiple times per day and always enjoyed using it. Now I don't want to open it at all. Please give us the option to use the version we want!

If you don’t like the new app dashboard, please feel free to let Fitbit know by rating the app in the App Store.

That may get Fitbit to listen to our concerns a bit more.

It doesn’t seem like anything happens as a result of this forum.

The new app design is pretty but inefficient - I have managed to make it usable by deleting virtually all of the display options.

Truly awful update! The old dashboard was so easy to use and see everything you needed. One click to get to the alarms section and it was so pleasant to use. Fitbit may have lost another long term loyal customer. Whoever designed this dashboard Needs to be punished! 200 floors and 16miles of burpies and then set 3 alarms for before 5am! And whoever signed it off for release..... u numpty!! Lets have to old style back please.

Sure, it's a bad update but I've made it work by deleting all of the Activity options - mine only displays steps, water and food calories,  that's all that fits on the screen now and the app is going off the main screen for now, I'll keep it to make sync work but I'm stopping using it.   I would expect, given the user reactions, that it will get updated in a few months - maybe they will learn a lesson from this.

FitBit - GUI means "graphical User Interface" - please remember that the phone app is a User Interface, not some marketing tool, I'm guessing that the marketing folks have been pushing for this change ... judging by the comments here, it's not having the effect they wanted.  Most users in these forums are asking for more features, not more white space on the screen, people want the ability to track their fitness and performance, not the ability to be tracked by the marketing division.

I personally like the new look - I don't mind scrolling a bit to glance at the items, and the summary at the top covers most of what I care about, anyway.

However, it is very strange that there's no way to preview the new look and no way to go back after switching to it. A preview would be appreciated, for sure.
