Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

Fitbit has options to satisfy its customers. The simplest is to let us choose which Look we prefer. Those who like the new app look can keep it. Solution Fitbit is simply to satisfy your customers. Those who prefer the older version should be allowed to continue with it. Please respond to us. It cannot be that hard.

Sorry to say it, but the person that decided to move forward with this 'enhancement', needs a resume' enhancement instead. How can you not give you customers the "option" to keep the new look or stay with what is best? This move was an amazing blunder on the part of Fitbit. No customer involvement now equals customer dissatisfaction! Lunacy!!!

Lunacy is one word for it. Ignoring the customers is another possibility. Given all the negative responses to the new look I can’t believe someone in a senior position hasn’t said what’s going on around here? No consultation?

Stepping Up

Personally, I suspect the company direction is already set.  This post and the unhappy comments in others will fall on deaf ears.  If anything, we unhappy users will probably see an announcement along the lines of "the fitbit community has spoken and you love the new app look.  We'll keep delivering the things we know you want."   Either that or they'll announce that they can't go backward but they'll develop something that we've asked for - and it will never actually happen.

For me, I'm very close to knowing that when my Alta HR dies I'll be going to another brand.

@AppleApple you are describing the way the Apple company looks at their customers.

Please introduce something like themes where the user can choose between the old dashboard and the new one. Also add a theme for Dark for night-time users and another one for the visually impaired. Allowing some users to choose the Classic Dashboard would make everyone happy. Don't you agree?

These are great suggestions i never thought of. And I bet neither did Fitbit.Choice is simple ... give consumers, customers, purchasers of fitbit what they want . the opportunity to use the former dashboard!

I really dislike the new app. I'm actually considering leaving FitBit and getting an Apple Watch or wearing my Garmin to track my fitness.

My husband has several Garmin watches. That'll be my next play this not intuitive and very outdated.  Someone's bonus must have been predicated on the date of delivery as this was more about the company vs. the consumers. Very disappointing.

Absolutely agree.

Dear Fitbit,

Please make a statement! You have heard us, the consumer, voice and we are awaiting a reply. This is as minimal as I can put it.
1) We do not like that we had zero options for accepting or declining the new app look.

2) We simply don't like the new app look.

That being said.

What are you going to do about it?  Are you willing to do nothing and lose countless numbers of customers over an app that was horribly mismanaged?

Some like the new GUI and many like the old one. It's my understanding that Fitbit decided against going back to the old GUI which I understand as Fitbit is reconfiguring their business model. However, it is obvious to some, including myself, that we miss the look, functionality and feel of the older GUI design. Also, the new design presents some difficulty for the visually impaired who rely on larger font and bigger displays. What I propose is to enable a way for the user to have better control over the look and feel of their GUI on-screen controls and indicators. Allow them to at least be able to approximate the look, feel and function of the older GUI.

Hi @alcurb. Thanks for sharing your idea about having an option to choose your type of dashboard in the Fitbit app. This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here. While this isn't currently planned at this moment, we have left voting open so we can keep tracking this request overtime. To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

Very clearly stated. All we get is a statement that we care about our customers but you’re stuck with this.

Let’s add another issue. I downloaded the firmware update hoping for improvement and again there was a failure to care how people actually interact with the product. It drives me crazy for the watch face to flash every time I move at night. I finally learned how to set it to manual at night and now that’s gone. That’s a pretty important feature. But it’s just gone or hidden. No explanation. Same lack of consumer input.

The solution is simple. Fitbit should give us the choice to keep the old classic dashboard or except the new modern one which nobody, at least those weighing in on this thread, support. So Fitbit count up all the votes and you’ll see a near unanimous majority saying let us have a choice and keep the old classic dashboard.

Why not give us all a choice like they do with the versa watch face?

Chose your own dashboard. Then everyone is happy.

It can be done if Fitbit wants to. So please- do it. Satisfy your customers.

Agree, but they have said it's impossible to go back to the previous interface. 🤨

Sounds logical but they have said it’s impossible. However they programmed this change has painted themselves into a corner. They are not offering anything to allow us to have the interface we prefer. They just say they care about our opinion, but can’t fix the dissatisfaction they created.

I agree. I have no idea what they’ve done with the code supporting this mistake to make them say they can’t.
I bet they will just wait it out until people give up and use it. I certainly won’t recommend Fitbit to anyone after this.

I missed that response. In any case I don’t believe it. Also As many other Fitbit users have commented there seems to be a total in sensitivity to the needs of the users and customers. They make random decisions to suit their own needs. So many other providers of online services allow people choices in format and look. Why cannot Fitbit?

My monitoring of all the posts and responses is that there is an overwhelming dissatisfaction with the new dashboard look and with the total lack of sensitivity by Fitbit.

You make an excellent point. So many opinion surveys and customer satisfaction surveys ask the basic question – would you recommend this to your friends and colleagues? You are right it is hard to recommend Fitbit given this most recent experience with them. And as I have noticed and other threads people are reporting dissatisfaction with changes the produce less useable data and less relevant data.

Whatever the layout (although the previous one was obviously better!) just seems odd to have an at-a-glance dashboard,  which is too big to fit on one page & needs scrolling  (not to mention may also need reading glasses too...).

In which case, surely it's not a dashboard at all if it has to be manipulated!

However, despite reading that rollback is impossible - I'm hoping that something can be done.

After all, in the previous "keep the application open all the time" notification which so annoyed a lot of us, that was (thankfully) removed.

Not related to all of this,  but unfortunately in the last couple of months I seem to have most of my Fitbit friends to Garmin 😞

Come on Fitbit, we know it's competitive in this segment - but we are willing you on here!

Sure, we all need to try something new now & again to make progress.  But, that really should not be the last word - please take heed & deliver something much better.
