Allow Customers to choose between Dashboards

In the latest update of the Fitbit app, the Dashboard that customers interact with daily underwent a huge visual downgrade. It is far less appealing to look at, and harder to quickly see where you are with your daily goals. Please allow Customers to choose their dashboard, similar to how customers can choose their fitbits clock faces. It makes sense to at least allow a choice between the new version and the old version of the dashboard. PLEASE consider this.

To Vote for a choice between the new and old dashboard, go to "Feature Suggestions" - then "Allow customers to choose between dashboards" should be near the top of the list.

Well said!

If anyone downloaded the new firmware update and know how to set the display to manual, let me know. The previous simple way to change between auto display to manually turning on disappeared. I’m seeing no advantage to this download. Just lost this feature I counted on.

@Monaco your comment doesn't make much sense in that only the top five daily steps have only been availible to see at a glance. It has been this way for this and the last 3 versions of the app.

The other non-daily stats always needed some scrolling to see.

@KarolGR try tapping on the word "Edit", also under the Discover tab - health and fitness stats there are more tiles that can be added.

Hi Fitbit, it seems like you guys are not taking our complaints seriously. There are a lot of us who do not like the new look of the app. The list layout is a major step back in design. Everyone liked the old tiles and the nice colors.
I don't know what kind of tests you did or if you have any statistics to show which design people like better. Personally I would like to get rid of the new design completely. But if you guys are unwilling to do that (which as of right now you guys have been shutting down all complaints and claiming you will not return to the old design), you should at least give your users the option to pick which design layout they want. This way you guys can make all your customers happy and you can collect data to see what the actual statistics say about which dash board layout is actually better.

Please do something about this ASAP. It shouldn't have even gotten to this, but here we are. Fitbit, please listen to our complaints and actually do something about it.

Give us the option to pick which dashboard we want. That way no body will be upset. 🙂 K?

Hi @efit01, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the possibility of having the option to choose between the old dashboard and the new one, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned. However, this idea is still open to votes, so the team can continue to track popularity and demand over time.

I totally understand. I wish the Fitbit company did.

I had the tiles arranged so I could see everything I wanted. I could see at a glance what hour (time) I was on while trying to get in hourly steps. The display for that key item was large and very clear. I could see everything without glasses or looking at another “page.” Colors were uniform and pleasing. Daily achievements were more rewarding. I just don’t like it. The whole user experience takes more work on my part and isn’t as rewarding.

Another great description of what is wrong with the new dashboard and why so many Fitbit customers prefer the old dashboard. Once again Fitbit roll back the clock and give us an option to choose which we want. If it turns out everyone is choosing the new look and you are correct. If huge numbers of us keep the old app look we are correct. What is wrong with choice?

Please at least give us the option of changing back to the old dashboard. It was so much easier to use.

So I get a mean comment that said was I paid to say I’d get use to the new interface? I can’t find what I said and Fitbit won’t let me respond to this person. Also Fitbit is now posting that you can’t have the old interface back and the issue is solve by their Users Manual.

I still find the new interface ugly and the old one nicer and generally a better user experience.

The issue is not solved and they are losing customers but don’t care

I agree I prefer the old look, or the classic look as summer calling it. I for one do not consider the matter closed. Fitbit just does not want to consider our concerns any further so they are trying to shut us down.

Please listen to us. Many other websites and apps allow you to choose the look did you want including colors, specific functions etc. it can’t be that hard. In the last thread many people commented that it is technically easy and possible to allow a choice of the classic face or dashboard. Please accommodate us.

Start by actually asking your customers if they even want something like this. This new look is absolute garbage. Instead of having all the tiles in one easy to see, easy to read page, now people have to constantly scroll through to be able to see everything.

This is horrible, not user friendly, and this is what you work on??  Instead of giving people things that they have been asking about for years (that you've completely ignored)--like being able to set/change goals without having all their past data change? Or like the ability to set a daily/weekly template of how many 250 step hours/start and end time for each day, and which days they want active--e.g. someone may want weekends to have more step hours, start later in the day, etc.  But no, they change the look to something no one wants and no one asked for. And their standard, craptacular canned response is "Oh thank you for your feedback!  Blah blah blah, blah blah blah."  I think mods get paid a fee every time they copy/paste the same canned, useless, uninformative responses.  I for one am looking for a new fitness tracker and app, after being a loyal FitBit user for years.

Don't waste your time and energy, people.  FitBit doesn't care what you think or what you want.  Just warn everyone you know to stay away.

FItbit Developers, Leaders, Operations team -using all those terms very loosely are hideous planners, performers and strategy forecasters. I'm stunned any of you people still have a job. If you do - shame on those who retain you and your "talent."

I'm stunned that when many Fitbit users asked Fitbit to add these features to the dashboard, that do many do not want what they requested.

The new dashboard is terrible. Hard to read during workouts, since the font is so tiny. Have to scroll to see data. Far inferior.

Really regret "updating" to the new look. It's fiddly and complicated and is nothing more then a reskin for Fitbit to promote "Premium" features.

Bring back the classic UI!

Forget about the look of the app.

Google just bought Fitbit.

I agree aquavel.
I prefer the old classic look on the dashboard.

Bring it back. Bring it back.
Fitbit - can you hear the chants from hundreds if not thousands of customers who prefer the previous version of the dashboard.

Might get a bit more savvy now then - maybe they’ll make acceptable improvements lol

I never had an option.  The new look was forced on me and I hate it!

DALwpg

That is precisely the point hundreds of us have been making to no avail. The new look in the new app was forced on us. We had no choice. This was not a normal optional upgrade.

One commentor early-onset this was a definite downgrade.

The old look was easier to read, highlighted more appropriate information. The new look was not a positive improvement and yet Fitbit chooses to ignore the overwhelming view of their customers. Most companies could not survive this repeated behavior. The same thing is happening on other threads for example the sleep score.

Time and time again people pleaded and asked for the opportunity to have options and not forced changes. The response has been the same from Fitbit. The response has been and continues to be silence.

I continue to ask for a restoration to the classic dashboard look. Fitbit – please listen.

Google bought Fitbit, no one will give a flying fk what we think about the change!

It could be another 6 - 8 months before Google might be able to buy fitbit.

As for Fitbits stance, we really are not sure what they are thinking.

A search of these boards will show, just as much displeasure when the previous dashboard version was released, yes the one that people want back.

My thought, as with the last version, fitbit has been receding posts and like previous versions, improvements to the design will be released. It has been this way with changes for the last 6 years.

rhrichey

What they are thinking, is that the agenda is likely being driven by
upstart designers who have their egos all intertwined with some "cool" new
look instead of having the agenda being driven by the needs of the app's
users. I've seen in dozens of time across a wide variety of technologies.
Someone inside Fitbit needs to squash this kind of nonsense and stick with
what is working. Evolutionary changes are usually good--revolutionary, not
so much. Be careful, or Google may not still want to buy you in 6 months...

@rhrichey maybe if users would stop requesting for these features to be added to the dashboard, and maybe fitbit would stop adding these user requested changes. We will have one group happy and the other group complaining.

Just like when the previous at first much hated dashboard was released. Over the following months their where changes made and, for the majority, users where happy.

I believe the same will happen in the near future.
