Allow Music transfer from phone

In the near future, please incorporate the ability to transfer music directly from your phone library. Preferably, this feature would even be available offline.

One grievance I have here is that it can only be done, online, with a computer installed with the FitBit software.

It seems minor, but, there are plenty of reasons this feature is troublesome; for example:
-can’t be installed on a computer (administrative rights on a work computer?)
-or not being able to connect to the internet (when traveling)
-or the connection is terribly slow.

Please add the option to download music from android and I-phones to fitbit versa.

I'd love to be able to add music to my versa, but I can't since I don't have a computer! I do everything via my iPad and it really bugs me that I have no way to add music or podcasts so I don't have to carry my phone around when I work out.

Never going to happen. Return your items if you can. Been over a year of this. Able to make new products but not help in regards to this.

It was a gift, so I guess I'll just keep carrying my phone around when I
work out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but it's seriously annoying!

@jp3rr

You do not have to. It's a PITA to transfer files to tracker, but once it's there you're good.

The whole issue is that what's supposed to be 5 minutes task while you put on your sneakers becomes a not-so-easy project. But you still can use your tracker as a music player.

I guess my problem is that a) I don't have a home computer, I exclusively
use a tablet and b) I use Apple Music and my understanding is that many of
the songs provided on streaming services are DRM encrypted. If there were
an Apple Music app that would be great! But Apple probably isn't going to
do anything to help out a direct competitor of its Watch.

@russianbear66 Knows what’s up but it is not fun in the least. He sent me detailed instructions on how to do it, but it was pure hell.

Bought my brothers Apple Watch 3

only con is battery life. Otherwise it’s a vastly superior watch.

Pure hell not in bears issue but the Fitbit itself, absolutely asinine to not think people would want this in  late 2017!

I don't own a computer and haven't for years. I only have access to a tablet and phone, as my job doesn't require a computer. Would be nice to be able to download music from either an android tablet or phone....in this day and age so many people don't have a computer it is sad that it is the only way to transfer music to the versa. I was really looking forward to being to use the music feature on my watch.... But I guess I will just have to continue using my phone.

I’ve just bought myself the Fitbit versa and wireless headphones costing close to £300 and couldn’t believe it when I found out that I cannot upload music from Spotify or transfer music from Apple Music on my phone. I, like many others it appears don’t own a computer and have all my music on either iPhone or iPad. This update needs to be expedited or I see many prospective customers going elsewhere.

I feel like I've been robbed (only my Versa was a Christmas present, so someone else was.) Like many others  I don't have a computer - I use phone and tablet. So now I too have a Versa and spanking new headphones to go with it, but no access to music. Disappointing to say the least. I won't be recommending the Versa.

Wish we could add gifs here for Fitbit. Losing customers guys.

12/25/18 - Receive fitbit Ionic for xmas.

12/29/18 - Get around to trying music transfer to Ionic...and discover it can't be done with a) my phone or b) my linux computer.

12/31/18 - RETURN IONIC AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE.

Seriously, fitbit: linux is so popular at this point it's AN OPTION ON WINDOWS 10 (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10).

FAIL.

This is ridiculous. I use a Linux laptop. So I can't run the Windows or Mac software and therefore can't use this feature.

Even so, I don't keep music on my computer, I keep it on my Android phone. So I would want to be able to transfer music directly from my phone to my Versa.

I'm a developer. Is there anywhere I can get the specs or protocol for sending music to the Versa? I'd be glad to try to develop a solution.

I am getting the feeling FitBit does not care.

I wish I would have bought the Suunto watch I was looking at. Had more features and does not play music either.

Unless they fix this I will not be a repeat customer.

I agree I have found I cannot put my music on my watch as my computer has not got windows 10 if it could be down loaded from phone or tablet that would be great also as pandora does not run in Australia now it would be good if you could use Spotify

Please add my vote for this - my music is all on my phone or tab, my laptop is for company use and I cannot connect my Ionic to my company wifi, so it appears impossible for me to sync from my laptop.

I would love and prefer to be able to transfer music directly from my android phone as that is where all my music is stored and considering I own a Chromebook there is currently no option or ability for me to transfer music to my Versa which was a big bonus and a sole reason I went out and purchased a set of bluetooth earphones which now are no use to me.  Thank you for the consideration and I hope you decide to make transferring via phone an option in the very near future.

Exact same reason I purchased the versa. Think next time Im going Apple. Atleast music is easy to use on it!

Fitbit should start a policy for existing users to ugrade already purchased items to the newest versions without being penalized to buy as new. Example, upgrade to the charge 3 from existing charge 2

In our family, we use iPads and iPhones are do not use or need a computer.  We are able to do everything we need including printing from our iPads where is the need for a computer?  It seems antiquated that you require a computer to sync with a Fitbit for music.
