Allow Spotify offline on Versa series and Sense

After long time Fitbit released a Spotify app for Ionic/Versa (for now only on Versa 2). See this suggestion now marked as solved.

However this app does not allow to download music for offline listening (for example while working-out).

Hence this new suggestion.

I just bought a versa 3 and hadn't realised this was the case. Please fix this issue or I will be returning it like many others! This is a major design flaw!

Please add this feature.

I have to agree the advertising is misleading, perhaps some information about upcoming features would help people be patient.

I just bought the Versa 3 and realise I can not download music from spotify. Deezer and Pandora you can but I don't have either of these accounts. When will this functionality be available?

Hi @Aussiechick, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to allow Spotify offline on Versa 3. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

Not true. I have a Spotify playlist with offline music on my Garmin watch.
So it is technically possible, but I'm not sure what Garmin have been
able to do that fitbit are unable to figure out.

This is one of the two most important additional features I'd like for my Fitbit. Probably the most important.

I'd LOVE to be able to download songs from my Spotify account and listen to them while I run without my phone.

I bought Sense as I saw it support Spotify, only to learn that it cannot store music offline as it is possible with Deezer/Pandora. Can anyone from Fitbit company explain this? I hope this will be fixed soon, as I'm used to listen to music and podcasts on Spotify on my run.

Just like pandora plus and deezer plus, please allow us to download Playlists or channels of music to our fitbits so we can listen without needing wifi.

This has taken too long. I am now using a Garmin Forerunner 745 with Offline Spotify.

I spent such a long time choosing which smartwatch/fitness tracker to get. I eventually chose the Versa 3 because of the Spotify integration advertised and the GPS. So I could leave my phone at home on a run....

Wow, I was mistaken. Not only can i not actually download any music from spotify onto the watch. But it turns out even the awkward work around of 'personal music' app isn't possible any more as the app has been removed from this watch... why?!

So sad and frustrated with my new purchase that i should be so excited about. Please please please sort this out!

It took 3 years for you guys to set the status to "under consideration"? Way to slow!

Please bring the offline music feature in year 2021!

Guys this post is 2 years old!! It’s highly desired by the community what gives! At least fix Deezer, but better yet....Allow SPOTIFY to transfer music to listen offline!! It’s the best, most used streaming app. I don’t want to pay for Deezer also, and hope to discontinue before my free trial expires.

I see this suggestion is already under consideration since last September. I would recommend to fix this a bit more urgently, its great you want people to subscribe to Deezer for whatever business reasons, but Spotify has the biggest market and everyone is upgrading their smartwatches in quarantine times. Recently my 5 close friends bought smart watches and choose other brands because this feature is missing eventhough they were fitbit customers beforehand... And in all honesty when I bought the watch I thought this would be fixed soon. You are loosing customers and the ones who were still brand loyal (me) are sad, because i cant have my friends joining me in weekly step challenges anymore as they chose another brand. Just adding this to support the cause.

Maybe spotify needs to be involved in the development of this feature as well? Someone said pandora and deezer actively worked with fitbit to allow offline music. Should we all be going and bothering spotify about it as well? Because this "consideration" is taking WAY too long.

I will not be different from people in this thread - please add Spotify offline play and stop misleading new buyers with the Spotify control app. You just harming your reputation.

It's nice to buy a watch which implies it has this feature only to not have it. Feels great. Imagine buying a watch this expensive and not have such a basic feature. So you have to decide between running with no music or bringing your phone (invalidating the built in GPS) to listen to music. What a joke and seing how long it's taking to implement (pretending this issue is not a highly requested thing), I'm feeling like this company doesn't take it's customers seriously and is lazy. This will most definitely be my last buy from you guys and I will make sure no one buys your inferior products, unless you actually go ahead and fix this issue. I sincerely hope you change your mind about this and realize how damaging this is to your brand.

This is such a great feature! I got my fitbit sense today and I was shocked that Spotify could not be used to download music or stream, and just control another device...
