Allow Spotify offline on Versa series and Sense

After long time Fitbit released a Spotify app for Ionic/Versa (for now only on Versa 2). See this suggestion now marked as solved.

However this app does not allow to download music for offline listening (for example while working-out).

Hence this new suggestion.

Yes please. There is no point in having Spotify on the versa 3 if the phone has to be near to use it.  If I want the phone with me, I will use the phone.

Honestly, Spotify is the biggest music streamer. No idea why offline use isn't already a thing considering I never even heard of Pandora or Deezer before buying a Fitbit.

The Fitbit Spotify app should allow offline playback just like Deezer/Pandora does.

Hi @carlosnoboa, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to use Spotify offline on Ionic. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". I hope to see you around.

@YojanaFitbit I'm afraid you confused it with other feature. There is an option to CONTROL Spotify, but there is no option to DOWNLOAD Spotify music to listen offline, which is what this request is about.

So, could you please revert your changes?

@maxal1917 Good call, thank you for the clarification.

I have the best Fitbit (Sense) and the best music streaming service (Spotify Premium). You want me subscribe to the worst music streaming premium services in order to store music on my watch and NOT need to have my phone with me when I jog. C'mon, get with it!

I am the only person I know still sticking with Fitbit. Everybody else says limiting Spotify to remote control only is a deal breaker. You must be losing a lot of customers.

Absolutely! It's about time! Let's hope it gets resolved real quick.
Its a bummer being forced to use other services.. all of my (paid)
playlists are on Spotify... as it happens with most people...

I had a Charge 4 that gave a problem in the band fix part. After warranty process claim I decided to upgrade to a Sense smartwatch considering that I know that Fitbit works with Spotify and I naturally assumed that a fitbit smartwatch that costs 300€ allows the user to listen Spotify off line without the need of having with the smartphone around you. Well.. Well.. What a negative surprise I had.. Deezer?!?! Never heard before.. I'm using the 3 months trial offer just to comprove that the Sense smartwatch can play music offline, otherwise I would think that it was a mith..

When the deezer trial offer finishes I will cancel the payment and keep paying spotify and listen my music on my phone nevertheless having a Fitbit 300€ smartwatch on the wrist and I will calmly wait for the time to say goodbye to Fitbit definitively and change to brand that have a normal behaviour regarding the protocols and partnerships with other principal brands / partners.

It's ansolutely unbelievable that I have to carry my phone while jogging.
I may return mine and go with anything but Fitbutt

My solution when my Ionic broke was to buy a Charge 4 (so I have GPS when running) and also one of these: - https://www.mightyaudio.co.uk/

Fantastic little product 🙂

Nifty but not a solution. I shouldn't have to buy and charge another gadget
when I have the "best" watch.

Indeed @tomb393. This remember me the Mp3 gadget from Creative that I used 10 years ago. Shall we have to move to the past to use the "best" watch from Fitbit?!?!?

Anyone have any advice on which watch to switch to?  I'm selling my Sense and going to get something that can do this.  I'm tired of running with my phone and it seems like fitbit doesn't care enough to change it

Garmin Venu 2S and Garmin Venu Sq — Music Edition support what are all
looking for.

Come on Fitbit. It's not hard.

The thought of having to use something like the

make me leave the Fitbit world. I've been a fan since the Charge HR.

Unfortunately I only had access to this site after buying the Sense watch... Smartwatches - Spotify

Basically all the smart watches in the market have the possibility to play Spotify offline, all of them except Fitbit smartwatches..

It seems that they care more about the exclusive agreement with deezer instead to listen what costumers needs and demand..

I second the Garmin Venu2 or the Vivoactive 4 unless you need the ECG. I think Venu2 is what I am going for unless Fitbit adds some useable music options to the Sense in the next few months.

I will admit that I have a bias against Apple watch. I just have a distain for Apple products in general. It really is a decent product though. Practically speaking, I am just not on board with that limited battery life. I already have to bring enough chargers everywhere. One of my requirements is to be able to use the thing as an actual watch too. Don't want to be taking it off between sleep tracking and workouts just to charge it.

Twist that knife, ouch!

Can't believe a company would ruin it's reputation so much by blatantly ignoring something that so many customers are SCREAMING for!!

It's about time! It is in fact a no brainer...

Every other major smart watch allows it. Gotta work with the leaders if you want to keep being relevant..
Just a thought... Come on Fitbit!

pm twitter:
question:

What is the expected date, onwhich the release for versa3 is available which allows offline spotify music and own music uploads to the versa3

Answer on a pm twitter:

This feature is not available at this time and we currently don't have expected time for this. But we're always improving our devices' features and while it's not supported at the moment, we recommend voting for this Feature Suggestion in the link we provided again.

Can you please provide that link in order to vote?
