Does anyone want an Ionic that I really like?  Cuz oh yeah.  I can’t use it anymore.  How BOGUS.  This will be the last Fitbit I ever buy

Nearly a year, 410 votes and 355 comments  later FitBit doesn't show interest in listening to customers. This is a huge disappointment.
1 more user here with Ionic and charge 3... wait... Hi Garmin whom can support that happily!

Come on Fitbit let's get this sorted. I've been using a flex 2 and versa on the same account for sometime now. Just upgraded flex 2 to the charge 3, so I can us the charger 3 for work and versa the rest of the time. Then when I come to link the charge 3 to my account I find out it won't let me have the versa and charge 3 on one account. My question is !! WHY NOT !! I've been using my flex 2 on the same account as my versa with no problems. As I said GET IT SORTED PLEASE.

Hi there, I have an inspire hr and thought to buy an ionic. Now I read you cannot have them together in one account? How strange. I even wanted to wear them simultaneously, the inspire on the right wrist all day and night and the ionic occasionally during the day. I wondered how the 2 simultaneous recordings would be synchronized, but now it seems it does not make sense to buy the ionic at all.

@joa.li I could answer how they would sync.

Both trackers will record steps and their counts will not match. After a sync of both trackers the Fitbit server will look at each minute and try to figure out the true step count and come up with a step total. Then this number will be sent to both trackers and your dashboard. At this point all 3 will show the same data.

Making it not really possible to compare.

This is a major issue. I bought a Charge 3 to have as backup and to use on days when I don’t want quite such a big watch on my hand, but now I have to go return it. Bummer.

That is what I did...I chose, however, to keep the Charge 3 and return the
Versa. 😞

Fix this.

I love my "old" charge 3.  I purchased the Versa along with the metal link band to look more professional when I'm working at a client site.  The downside of the versa with a metal band is that it's heavy, and not suitable for exercise.  And swapping out bands on the versa just just cumbersome enough to deter me changing bands, potentially multiple times per day.  Thats why I kept my Charge 3, to have options depending on attire or activity.  The fact that I cant have both on my account completely defeats my goal.

And the "reason" being that the fitbitOS is "too similar" between the Charge 3 and the Versa is completely ridiculous.  They are both Bluetooth enabled devices, and have unique Bluetooth MAC addresses.  You dont track activity based on Product Name/Type/OS.  You track by the unique MAC address.  Stop providing pathetic, and unrealistic excuses.  Fix this now.

If Garmin can do it, Fitbit could if they wanted to.

It seems as though Fitbit might be losing some money because of this.  It's just absolutely ridiculous that you can't have these devices on the same account.  I love my Ionic, and I really like my Charge 3 and I was very much looking forward to wearing my Ionic to the office becasue it's a nicer looking sport watch, and wearing my charge 3 at home so I don't have to have something so big on my wrist.  At least that is exactly what I did with my charge 2.  I was expecting to be able to do the same thing with the charge 3.  After all, why wouldn't I expect to be able to interchange trackers anytime and use them on the same account??  Come on Fitbit.  Please fix this issue.  How hard could it possibly be for a computer geek to just fix this issue and be done with it?!  Fitbit is going to lose sales because of this.  I know one for sure that they have lost.  Really, really STINKS

This is very important.

I’m a fans for Fitbit so I bought a versa and a charge 3. And now it becomes so ridiculous that I can’t add both in one account, and every time I need to take some time to use one of the watches. It is super inconvenient. It just seems to be a wasting money choice for me to buy two Fitbits. I think it’s better to buy Apple Watch than Fitbit now. Fitbit is so disappointed, not only that it cannot have multiple devices in one account but also it cannot sync with apple health data automatically. It’s a bad choice to buy Fitbit.

I own two charge 2 devices and would like a feature that allows me to synchronise the two devices so i use any. At the moment its only allowing one charge 2 device, please consider this multiple devices of the same model type suggestion when improvingbthe fitbit app. Ive akready added the two to ,y bluetooth pairing without any probs, its just the app that stands in the way of my need. Thanks.

Hi @Bimmyrai, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned. You can keep adding your votes to this suggestion so we can keep tracking this request overtime. Learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. I hope to see you around.

I have had various earlier models of Fitbit trackers. I liked that I could switch between the devices simply by selecting the one I was using that day. I have been using a versa and picked up a charge 3 on sale at Costco; only to find that I can no longer switch easily between the devices. Each and every time it a pain to add it as a new device. I can’t believe this even has to be up for a vote to see if Fitbit is going to see if it is worth their time to support this feature. I purchased the fit on sale for $109.00; but at this point it was wasted money and will most likely be returned.

I am so disappointed with Fitbit developers not adding this feature dispite the hundreds of other customers asking for it. I am not considering Fitbit devices for my next fitness tracker. I have issues with mine after a year anyway.

Not true that all data will be retained when switching from a Versa to an Ionic.  Most of the data is retained but all app notifications go away and must be reset every time.  I have an Ionic and a Versa and only use the Versa for this reason.  It's just too much of a pain to turn all the notifications back on as you must wait until you get a notification before the app shows up in the list under the Fitbit settings in order to turn it back on again.  Really a shame as I would like to be able to switch back and forth but the inconvenience makes it not really doable.

My understanding is that this limitation has to do with the organization of the data on the server.

Apparently it is not setup in a way that the 2 trackers will have there raw data separate

Eventually decided to get a second Versa and switch between those.

I bought the charge 3 because I thought I would be able to switch back and fourth between my Ionic and charge 3 just like I did with my charge hr and charge 2. How dissatisfied/disappointed I was when I realized I could not have a charge 3 and an ionic on the same account! I literally where my charge for working out in the mornings and then change to my ionic all day for work then back to a charge when I get home EVERYDAY. I was totally expecting the same ability to change back and fourth when I please when I bought the charge 3. Very disappointed with this. I will be running my charge 3 to the ground and then I will never buy a Fitbit again. Please fix this Fitbit. Very unfair to the consumer

The lack of this feature is the reason I do not buy more fitbit devices.  How is this so complicated? I would own at least 3 devices if this was an allowed feature.  It seems like a simple thing that would increase sales to loyal customers. Also, the only update we ever get on this is under consideration.  What is there to consider?  Add this feature, sell more devices. Do not add this feature, lose customers. This is one of the most frustrating issues with fitbit, particularly since this feature was available before the release of the Ionic.

The lack of users, 416,that are asking for this feature is really worth the time needed to rewrite major sections of the server.

Never the less I understand this is bringing looked at.

I own a Garmin Vivosport and a Charge3. I’m about to add a bigger more “smartwatch” like watch. Apple Watch I’ve ruled out (even though the price is awesome right now). That leaves the Fitbit Versa or the Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music. Both are fantastic watches. Both companies have fantastic apps. This topic IS a big deal. I can add the Vivoactive, use the same charger as my vivosport, and have both watches on my account. I can switch the watches in and out all day long and Garmin’s “TrueUp” will even move one watch’s stats to the other watch (let alone in the app). That’s a HUGE selling point. Fitbit can’t do that with CH3 and Versa. Makes me pause on buying the Versa and I Love Fitbit. Please please please fix this. I can’t believe this thread is over a year old and Fitbit only has it labeled as “Under Consideration”. Mind boggling.
