Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

This has been asked for many times to no avail. Be sure to vote if you haven't but don't vote again if you have, or they will deduct your vote!!!

I work overnights and sleep during the day. It would be nice to enable the move reminders 24 hours. As of now i can not utilize this feature with the time range given.

Yes, this would be amazing. It should be more customizable and adjustable for particular days. Or maybe automatically starting the number of hours you want to track to start after awakening. It's frustrating for people with sleep disorders too the way it is now. It's a silly thing, but I'm afraid I'll have a crash out day and miss out.

Its 2016...more and more people work different hours outside the 9-5
routine. Fitbit needs to adapt a more open mind

Please make the activity reminders able to straddle midnight. A huge reason I bought a Fitbit was to have it help me be active on a more consistent basis throughout the day. It isn't helping when the activity reminders can't be set up for night shift workers, or can only work for part of my day at best.

I work overnight shifts and sleep during the day. I tried to set it to remind me from 6pm to 6am, but unfortunately my Charge 2 does not consider it consecutive hours. It would be great if you changed this so that people who work overnight could get the most benefit form the reminders.

I just got a Charge 2 for Christmas. I work odd hours, and don't end my day until 2 or 3 am. But everything resets at midnight! Has anything been changed for us night owls?

Not yet...hopefully they will see many of us having the same interest in
the nighttime settings that they will change it soon.

Obviously not. Called and wrote over a year ago. I am frustrated and thinking about buying a different brand when this one dies.

smthch - I can certainly understand your frustration as it is an annoyance to me also...but as you have pointed out - you posted about this a year ago and we still only have 237 votes for this suggestion.  There are other ideas "out there" that are now in the 4 digit range.  Sooooo....from a big picture point of view...unless we get a LOT more votes on this....although it may change one day they aren't likely to go out of their way to do it.

Since there will probably be an increase in numbers since it is Cristmas - I do want to point out to people who are new, don't vote more than once.  If you do, it will decrease the number of total votes rather than add to it.  The best way to increase the number of votes is to ask anyone and everyone you know to support you by coming here and voting for the idea.

I agree i work at a group home and hate not reaching my goal because my steps moved to the next day. I can't get close to the time frame of my shift from 10 pm tell 8 am...

@Ashley.blank64 It is definitely frustrating, I agree.  But before they change it, we NEED a lot more to complain about it, so recruit all your Fitbit friends to come and complain.  But remind everyone to only vote one time or it actually will hurt all of us trying to get this change done as duplicate votes don't count.

Well said Donna!

YES - This NEEDS to be fixed. As a night shift worker, who's stuck sitting at my desk for 12 hours at a time, the reminder to get up and move a bit each hour is crucial. Please address this so we can set our days to match our schedules!

I have the same problem- I'm currently working 8:30pm-6:30am, and would love to be able to have my hourly activity reminders throughout the night. Unfortunately, right now you can only set a consecutive span of hours in a single day, so it's not possible. It's a little frustrating, as I upgraded to the Charge HR 2 in large part because of this feature. It would be great to be able to adjust this.

In what way is it waisted, 24 hours are 24 hours, yours is just shifted.

I just graduated nursing school and asked for my Fitbit for Christmas so I could track my steps when working. I will be working 7p-7a. With the way it is set up now I will never reach a step goal since it resets at midnight. Users should be able to select the 24 hour period it monitors and when it resets.

I was thinking that it would be awesome to have more time options for the reminder to move setting. I don't work normal hours as many since I work at a dispatch center overnight for LEO. So being able to be reminded overnight to move would be a great help. Since I know a lot of first responders use your products to keep track. Especially within out agency alone.

Thanks for reading and hopefully adding this in soon for all wareables 😊

I agree there needs to be more flexibility regarding this feature.

So I just purchased the Charge 2 and I absolutely love it. I just found out that there is a reminder to move feature and I was really excited. I'm a little upset I can't have it work the way I want it to though. I work at the Police Department overnight from 2100-0700 and I can't get my reminders to move to work with those hours. It seems like the app is recognizing it as a time before I start and I'm unable to set up the reminder.

Essentially, maybe add a way in the program to allow for us people that work overnights to set up the reminders according to our schedule as opposed to going a few hours without it and then having it start up.

I find the reminders too light. They are easy to miss. Also, if you ignore them there should be at least one follow up reminder

Night shift accommodations need to be made. Nearly every feature of the Fitbit is gone to waste for those that work in the night. I'm mostly active 6pm-8am, but I wouldn't mind just activating it over a 24 hour scale to accommodate everybody and set the "inactive" hours as the sleep time that everyone has already setup anyways.

It somewhat annoys me that I get the reminder only 10 minutes before deadline. I would like these additional options.

1, remind me when a new hour starts.

2, option to get reminder every 10, 15, 20 or 30 minute IF subgoal isn't reached. With subgoal I mean like 125 steps at half-hour.

3, why can't I set my own hourly step goal?

4, dynamic mode, something that tells me that I have moved my steps the last hour from now. Don't really get it why it's important to get me moving by the clock.

5, reminders to move for a setable amount of hours when not sleeping! Probably not possible.. I guess the hardware isn't aware of me sleeping. Just the app/site that estimates sleep from collected data.

I also work nights and the Surge is useless because it cannot be set for the correct time frame or just observe 24hr cycles. This needs to be fixed! Millions of people work more than just 9 to 5!!
