Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

I work nights, and though I have no issue with splitting my steps between 2 days, I'd like to use the Hourly Activity Goal feature and currently can't.

I'd like to be able to set up the Hourly Activity Goal to go from 12am - 9am and then add an additional Hourly Activity Goal from 5pm - 11:59pm.

Otherwise, I'm only able to use the feature for a few hours during my normal business day... 😞

It would be a bonus if this Hourly Activity Goal could be programmed based on days of the week like an Alarm being set differently for different days. I.e., my weekends are "normal" human hours, but Sunday night - Friday morning I'm on graveyards; it would be awesome if this

Uhm, excuse me? This missing feature is clearly a result of faulty programming. Considering the fact that this bug has been unrecognized and unfixed for more than a year simply astounds me.

How many "votes" do you want for your team to fix their mistakes? This should have never been an issue and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Well said...and what is a polar loop...and does it track sleep?

Good to know...thanks for the info!!
Fitbit has been pounded over this...and they STILL won't bend. Guess they
will break.

Brava!!!

Maybe if we inundated their customer service lines, FB and Twitter?? I'm
tired of being told to take it to the form.

In every other way I feel FitBit is superior to other brands. Just not on
this issue.

Yeah it's incredibly obvious they just don't care about us. There's zero excuse for this to not already be fixed.

Why only 341 votes in over a year? This is about how many postd are here.

You guys need to advertise more, at least get it on the top 100 list

I emailed them...and i have got a lot of responses to the thread....I'm
kinda shocked. I wonder what the reason is that they don't address this.
I considered mailing a letter registered receipt to the president or CEO of
the company...at least he/she would have to sign for the letter
themselves...

It would be great to change the number of steps also!

Customer should be able to set the number of steps in reminders to move

Please add a nightshift option so, it doesn't reset at midnight. I've been trying to get this implemented since April! A lot of people work nightshift (7pm-7am). It would be great to get this implemented as quickly as it was to implement the change in number of steps in reminders to move. 🙂

Yea! I, too, work crazy hours. My personal day ends at 6am when I go to bed! I would LOVE to be able to adjust what time my "day" starts!

FitBit's web and device UI arbitrarily limits the time entry to mandate the time started to be less than the time completed for the Activity times.  This totally disenfranchises all FitBit users that work overnight (spanning midnight as part of their work schedule).  I am a Nurse.  I work strictly overnight from 22:00 to 07:00.  I want to set my activity time accordingly.  BUT if I enter 22:00 as the start time your UI limits me to ending at 23:59 at the latest.  There is no work around I can see.  Alternatively I could mark my activity to start @ 00:00 and run to 07:00 BUT that is not accurate either.  Your device arbitrarily resets the day at midnight, which is not appropriate for those millions of workers that work the overnight shift.  Ex: (doctors, nurses, flight crews, Police, Firefighters, Food Service, Pilots, etc.)  Additionally my sleep is when others are active: 10:00 to 18:00 daily.  REQUEST that you allow the user to define what is their "day" when the device should RESET to the next day.  As an option what about just displaying "The last 24 hrs" as the day and not arbitrarily break the recordings at a hard midnight reset.  Think beyond your I work and am active in days so that is good for everyone mindset.

Please consider having reminders to move on a 24-hour clock. I work overnight and in order to make the feature work on the nights I am working I have to change my time zone to Hong Kong

I'm working night shifts as well, so this is recognisable for me as well.

I would like a night shift feature also.  I have a charge2.  I work 7pm to 7am and keep my schedule on my off days.  Midnight is my 'noon'.  There are days (nights) that I'm working out and midnight occurs.  That splits my workout between two different days for one workout period.

It is unfortunate that we are second class users to Fitbit.

Hello,

I saw there are a lot of fellow night shifters requesting the times on the Fitbit to be adjustable. I couldn't agree more! Also, I would really like to be able to use the "reminders to move" function while I'm working from 1800-0600. I spend half my life awake at night and the other half awake during the day, but the functionality of my Fitbit is very limited based on what would seem to be some simple changes to make to the app. Thanks!!!

Third shifter here who has the same problem. Hoping this counts as my vote. If it doesn't please let me know how to vote.

  1. in general it would be great to customize a little bit of everything more. maybe instead of having a general Sunday thru Saturday thing going on allow someone to set reminders to move every 4th Saturday and Sunday and weekly but skip every third Wednesday and 4th Tuesday. not everyone works a 9-5 job Monday thru Friday. also it would be great to no have to set your hours consecutively. like for me I work Sunday night thru Thursday night 10pm-615am. I would love to be able to set my reminder to move hours to 8pm-midnight and midnight to 9am the next day but as it is right now I have to set my hours as 0000-0900 because I cant set it as two blocks of time and I cant cross over the midnight hour with my hours. it is really inconvenient with that. And yes to anyone that will bring it up I have thought about changing my timezone to accommodate this but I don't want to have to worry about adding 2 hours to the time when looking at my watch. What day shift worker needs to do that? That's right no one so why should I as a night shift worker.

Will love it... I work nights and at a desk... sometimes I cant stand up for hours, I like how it reminds me to move every hour but is only in a 14hr period... will like to have it in all the 24hrs

I work 3rd shift so my main hours for activity are through out the night.  However the hourly activity feature will not allow me to select 1800 hours (6p.) to 0600 hours (6a.) as a good time frame.

This would be awesome. I work 7p-7a as an paramedic and this change would make things so much easier.

Is there a way to set the "hours of activity" with 250 steps or more for 14 consecutive hours to start before midnight and end end 14 hours later? I work 3rd shift and so I would like to set my "goal" hours from like 8pm to 8am or even, 6pm to 8am. However, when I try to do that, it says "Choose between 5 and 14 consecutive hours" and changes the time to be what it thinks it should be...so I have it set for 12am through 8am, but would really like to have the tracker on for a few hours before I go to work...ideally, 6pm through 8am...thank you!
