Allow night shift reminders to move (or customized hours)

Please allow night shift hours to be selected for reminders to move. I work 7p to 7a at the hospital and the current feature only allows half of my shift to be selected. It doesn't recognize those 12 hours as consecutive hours. It would also be helpful to select different time frames for different days. I work nights 3 days a week, but the rest of the week I am awake and active during the day. I'd like to customize the reminders for certain hours on specified days.

Yes! Please allow the reminders to move to be set for "overnight." Many people work overnight shifts and sleep during the day!

Maybe one day it will become an actual feature. It would make a lot of night shift workers quite happy. Possibly even those that have trouble in other time zones might get some help out of these changes.

Just display based on last 24hrs rather than since 00:00 hours on a clock.

The world does not restart at midnight.

What I want to know is in the last 24 hours how much activity or sleep has
happened

I have it set between 13:00 and 21:59. Thats the hours I´m always awake whatever shift I have that day. It´s a crap workaround but changing hours every week will not happen. Fitbit.. you need to adress this and lots other stuff. We want/need to enter our shifts on repeat on a settable amount of days/weeks. Make it happen!

btw.. the 250 steps doesn´t reset at midnight, it reset at 01:00. Maybe it has something to do with timezones? nope, resetting the tracker doesn´t solve that either 😜

I work 3rd shift and sleep during the day. I wish I could set my tracking hours from the time I wake up in the afternoon until I go to bed the next morning. The way it is now, you can only set it from midnight to midnight, and I lose hours of tracking. Either that, or upgrade the tracking hours from 14 to 24. There are many of us out there with irregular working hours.

It's not difficult - allow us to select a number of active hours OUT OF 24 - that would satisfy us rotating shift workers and encourage people to try for extra active hours per day

I agree wholeheartedly and said this to them over the phone over two years ago. I’m not sure why second and third shift workers are considered second class users.☹️☹️☹️

Another night shifter here, another vote. Why has this been an ongoing issue since at least April of 2016!? Is it that difficult to update it??

No, it is not. It is a fact of this world and Fitbit that second & third shift exist but not in there world evidentially. To me this treatment makes me feel like a second class citizen. Fitbit is not listening evidently. We should not have to beg.

it would be great if Fitbit could add some kind of toggle mode for us that work night shifts!  Three out of my seven days are on a 7p to 7a schedule and the rest I TRY to sleep like a normal person 😉 so if there was a way that we could easily switch back and forth and set times to coincide with working night shift I'm sure many, as well as myself, would benefit!

I guess fitbit only respects its first shift  clientele. This clearly could have been prevented if they  cared about  those of us that didn't work banking hours. come on Fitbit who do you think keeps you safe at night when you're sleeping, or keeps the world moving why you're not at work. We do and you forgot about us be ashamed.

As an RN working night shift my active hours are from 5pm to 8am. The fitbit app only allows me to set my active hours during the daytime, which is when I am sleeping, so therefore, results are not accurate and I am unable to actually track the hours that I am active. It would be useful to be able to set my active hours to be counted during the night

*PLEASE* update the 'active hours' feature to go from one day to the next day for everyone who works night shifts. Myself, I work 6pm to 630 am 5 days a week, but cannot set my activity goals, which defeats the purpose.  I can't imagine it's that difficult to change a few settings in the parameters to allow a 5-12 hour range which overlaps 2 days (Monday 6pm to Tuesday 7am, for instance).

I'm positive I'm not the only customer who works night shift, and I'm just as sure that it would be greatly appreciated by all who do.

Thanks!

Your not but I think we qualify as 2nd class Fitness people to Fitbit. ☹️☹️

I also work/sleep odd hours. It won't even accept an end-time of 11:59 on my Android app; only round numbers. Why only 14 consecutive hours - I could have it count times when I'd never be active if it would also count times when I am or should be. (I don't have it set for notifications, just tracking, so it won't make noise when I'm asleep). My normal activity times always straddle midnight. It doesn't even allow you to set two time periods, which would allow, say, 2pm-11:59pm and 12am-5am. It would also be very helpful to make it day-specific, since I keep even later hours on weekends.

Fitbit.

Simple solution.

Just track the last 24 hours. Advance this as current time advances.

If your a day, evening, or overnight worker this will match your schedule.

Why arbitrarily select that a person's day start at midnight, and working
hours are 9-5, and sleeping must be overnight? This is very myopic view of
our world.

It has been over 1 year, creeping up on 2 since this post started. @Fitbit how hasn’t something changed?

The vast majority of us have spent $100 and up for our devices. Yet we are unable to use the features seems you STILL haven’t allowed/fixed/updated use for people outside of “traditional” work hours. This goes for even the newest devices too. Come on, fix this. Please.

Can the active reminder setting be changed to allow people that work graveyard shifts to use it correctly. Our active hours are usually 9pm till 9am. It’s difficult to judge activity when the Fitbit shows us asleep all day.

I agree wholeheartedly about changing tracker to 24 hr. To me that would solve the problem, are you listening Fitbit?

They might get it fixed with their next tracker.. seem to be the way they operate. Hillarious how issues or feature requests gets fixed by releasing a new product 😄 Lame!

SabaiDeeAhnan

Sorry to say this issue is years old and so are the requests for
resolution. If you think they plan a revision of software at the same time
as a new hardware release, this not likely to occur. That would be
introducing multiple instabilities and not what companies generally do.
Fitbit has never provided an answer from these requests, all the while they
are so happy to take our money at purchase.

FITBIT ignores all customer feedback and requests. Good device, terrible
customer service.

Or maybe they just don't care what actual users want or suggestions from
real life user base.

What do we expect night workers? We are used to being ignored. After all
no one works after 5pm right? All hospitals, police, fire, airlines,
municipal, power plants, transportation, truckers, trains, everything stops
after the sun goes down... Right?

We don't exists and should just shut up and like what crumbs are offered
us.

I placed a thread like this also. I'm just jumping on the bandwagon for us night owls. Don't forget us minions who keep the system running while the rest of you are happily in la-la land.

Like your humor and just wish they would fix it. It can’t be but a few lines of code. They need to get off their butts and run a new line of code!
