Barclays Bank for Fitbit Pay

I would love to see more banks and credit unions on Fitbit Pay. It’s really not comparable to Apple or Android Pay at this point. Where are Barclays, Citibank, Discover, etc. These are major card issuers that aren’t on Fitbit Pay. Please make more cards available.

My upromise card is also issued by Barclays.  It's ridiculous that this bank is not part of fitbit pay.  I was going to look at the new versa watch but now I'll pass.😞

Thinking about shelling out for a Versa 2. I’m not one to buy the newest thing but would love one because of all the new features (compared to my Charge 2!). Not being able to use Fitbit Pay (for Barclays) is definitely going to delay my purchase 😞

I really would love to upgrade my Charge 2 to the new Charge 4 mainly for the GPS and Fitbit Pay capabilities, rather than spending the extra $$ on the Apple Watch, but I may hold off for a little longer to see if this gets resolved (not holding my breath though).

I realize that this thread is now nearly 2 years old, but echoing everyone else here for the sole purpose of showing the continuing consumer interest/need (perhaps growing, with the release of the Charge 4 at a lower price point than other Pay-enabled devices)... Please add Barclays Bank/Barclaycard US to Fitbit Pay!

I will be making the suggestion/request to them as well.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

I've had the ionic for around 2 months now, brought it cause I've never had a smart watch/fitness tracker, thought okay I'll spend the extra 50 or 70 quid for the ionic and get fitbit pay as that will be much more convinient! However upon purchasing and trying to set up, I can't set up barclays? Looked everywhere and you can't set it up, only really seems like it is worth it to get the ionic if you're from the US, kind of regretting the purchase I've made here, just glad I didn't waste more money on the Adidas version 🤣 still gutted I should have got the Huawei GT2 or the new Samsung watch...

Unfortunate, but not entirely Fitbit's fault. Barclay's doesn't want to deal with other's pay system, especially since they've just started their own. They don't want competitors.

I am also disappointed that Barclays isnt compatible, theres very little option for us in the uk

The support of Barclay Card is really missing, especially here in Germany as it is one of the most common bank independant credit cars and also just arrived at google pay and Apple. So why is it not available on Fitbit pay. My wive can pay, using barclaycard with her apple watch, I, with my fitbit am loosing out.

The list of supported banks for the UK is tiny and none of the major banks are supported. How is Barclays not on the list after 2 years!

Adding more UK banks to Fitbit pay, such as, Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, HSBC, RSB- and many more. There’s such a limited option for the UK lost compared to the US list.

The Fitbit wallet is rather bereft of any UK banks and Barclays would make a most welcome addition.

It doesn't - Fitbit Pay doesn't not work with Barclay cards?

The issue is not entirely the fault of Fitbit, although I'm sure they can push harder. I contacted Barclays directly a year or so ago. They said they were working on their own project, and would respond after that. Since then, my Barclays card was refitted with a near field chip that works by holding the card near the reader. I don't know if that precludes working with Fitbit, but it may be what Barclays prefers to to promote right now.

3 years later and none of the top banks (including Barclays) are on the list. Basically Fitbit pay is a none starter in the UK

Please add Barclaycard & American Express to Fitbit Pay. Both of these cards off a cash back/voucher system on spending, so don’t want to miss out on cash back. Both of these cards are accepted on Apple Watch / Apple Pay, and Android / Google pay. My next fitness device may have to end up being one of these.

I am a Barclays card holder, I would also like use my current account with fitbit pay but found they aren't yet supported

I am using Curve to get around the problem and load my Barclaycard onto the curve card

SignedAdam

@Eurobuff not sure I want to hand my information over to curve, I'd rather fitbit contacted my bank (Barclays) and got the ball moving with them, rather than me having some kind of middle man, (Curve) it's bad enough that fitbit will have additional information about my purchasing habits, to add some 3ed party company in as well, well that's even more information being given out, not to mention the terms of services from both fitbit, curve, you're bank, privacy policies, what if something go's wrong, I saw something about them (curve) wanting ID of some kind and I find it worrying that the tiny 1% cash back, stops after 30 days, unless you refer more people to join them. Talk about a mind field can we keep things simple please fitbit...

@Eurobuff don't mistake the above as an attack at you, I congratulate you on finding a solution for yourself and maybe others would accept this as a solution, however I see it as an excuse for Fitbit sit back and do nothing as usual, I've seen no progress in these feature boards for the community so far...

If Fitbit add Barclaycard compatibility, I will get rid of curve. I only got it for the ability to be able to pay with my Fitbit. It’s safer from the point of view of being mugged, to use my Fitbit as opposed to my phone or flashing my physical cards about

I bought my Ionic in the UK 4 years ago mainly so that I could track my health and use Fitbit pay (not in the slightest bit interested in the sports features). What a disappointment that Fitbit pay is useless - works with very few cards and none that I use. I primarily use Barclaycard as it is the only card to offer 0.5% cashback on all purchases. So we are now 4 years later and it still just as useless!

I understand Barclays are part of the problem as they have their own app, which is extremely unreliable and not compatible with other services), and have complained to them on more than one occasion - I would have ditched them long ago if they did not have the cashback.

PLEASE NEGOTIATE WITH BARCLAYS TO GET THEM ON FITBIT PAY.

I’m so disappointed! Just upgraded to Charge 5 from Luxe to use the pay facility and found out it doesn’t work with Barclays which was not on all the many reviews I read! If I’d bought an Apple Watch this would not be an issue! Thinking of returning the Charge 5.
