Barcode Scanning for International Food Databases

At the moment, logging food via barcode scanning is only supported for the US food database. I would like the option of food scanning for international food databases as well with nutrition facts.

2 Years since people started asking for this....  Great customer service.  Time to dump the Fitbit

Being able to use the barcode facility with adding food for UK food is a must.

Any new info on when it will be available in the UK?

I would really like to be able to scan barcodes in Norway. Please make an effort Connecting to the Norwegian food database.  This would really complete the use and experience of my fitbit.

I would love to be able to log my food with the barcode scanning feature in the UK rather than having to use myfitnesspal all the time.

Please can someone from Fitbit give us some timescales?

I am beginning to think fitbit will never add a foof log outside of America

I don't think it's ever going to happen.

It would be helpful if they (Fitbit) told us their plans either they are or aren't? But this silence is golden and probably tells us all we need to know!

Two years and counting. Get on it, Fitbit!

I want to add foods I use all the time - very common foods from very common stores! Foods everyone will use! We want to contribute!

This is a very important feature.

You could easily exponentially increase your food database through your customers.

Just got my Fitbit & was really hoping to be able to log my food using the bar code scanner, really disappointed to see this facility is not available in the UK despite it being raised to the attention for Fitbit well over 12 months ago! Is someone able to give approximate timescales as to when it will become available please?

I have to say as a new fitbit user I am extremely disappointed that the UK is not fully supported. I brought the fitbit under the pretense that I would have full access to all features.  It's not as though I have purchased it in the US and I'm trying to make it work here. I purchased it here and it should be supported. I would recommend that the UK and other countries where you sell your products be provided with full features as soon as possible. Would you not think this to be a fair and reasonable request?

I am sure there is a way to inform potential customers about this feature
(that this feature is not available for non-US users), so their
disappointment can be avoided. Maybe there is a Facebook group about
this... you should check it.

Did you know, that if you are not positive enough your post can be removed
from here for violating the guidelines?

Be positive, go public!

Hmm, so not only can those of us living in Australia not convert our food intake from calories to kilojoules, we also can't scan our barcodes. To quote the late, great Professor Julius Sumner Miller, "Why is it so?". And more to the point, why are we still waiting when this upgrade was first suggested well over 18 months ago?

Was my mail posted here?
Or am I banned out completely?

If one of you answers it will be enough. Thanks.

It extremely frustrating that the app suggests that I can send photos to update the local food database but then after contacting support that it is an US only feature. Can this please be rolled out properly or at the very least have the app inform me that you havent been able to roll this feature out for other countries.

Would definitely benefit from being able to do this in the UK! So many people I know use a fit it and being able to log my food on here would be perfect to have it all in one area and means fitbit would be more likely to get my business.

Is this "Idea Exchange" just a pretence to appear as though you actually care about user support?

This request has been here for a long time and you don't actually seem to be bothered to do anything about it.

Especially as it's something that should be integral to the use of the application, yet it's still here... waiting to be implemented / fixed.

really need this feature especially to add gluten free products!

It is quite frankly disgusting after this period of time that a feature the product is sold with is still only available in the US, not to the UK, or for that matter the rest of the world!

If nothing else enable the feature that allows people to add products and let it start building a database that way

There is another thread over at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/UK-food-database/idi-p/22527/page/12#comments for the same thing that claims this implemented?!

Would be great to add the foods from lidl as I wouldn't have to guess which supermarket and closest product to add to my food log.
