Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

+1 I want such a device

Please add Blood Pressure sensing. It is actually really easy to do. You just need a bit of copper on the back and on the front. Touch the copper on the front and you can calcualte the user's blood pressure fairly accurately so long as they have a confirmed base reading taken by a machine to base the maths on.

How does the copper restrict the blood flow in the arm?

Hello, they are electrodes 😉

You can take the blood pressure without a cuff pretty accurately so long as you use a standard machine to get a baseline.

Suggested this same feature directly with FitBit, they recommended I come here and vote these up.  Please add this! 🙂

Yeah. These need to be added at least to the app or integrate into S Health on Samsung phones.

In the past we were able to track blood pressure by manually entering it. This was achieved through software. I had to write it down and then input it. I currently use the Qardio (Bluetooth) for blood pressure and Greater Goods Smart Scale (connects to Fitbit). Please turn blood pressure back on and allow Qardio to connect or at least be able to import information.

Good idea.

I agree, as a diabetic, that it would be useful information if you would add sugar to the nutritional data when logging in your food.  It is on all the labels so it should be easy for you to pull.

I have been a Fitbit user since 2011 - although i have not been a regular user of the web site. I am now at a point where I want to track blood glucose levels online. I am disappointed to see that that is no longer available - and neither is blood pressure. I can't see a way to enter those here - or in MyFitnessPal either. If these are not coming back, that means I'm going to have to find yet another online system to store that. Boo hiss.

I have repeatedly asked them to do just that, and they ignore me

First I sent an email to the contact us and my replay came back that it was
a great suggestion. And then they pointed me to this community. Did I
just get ignored?

I would love the ability to track my blood pressure on the Fitbit. Similar to how i track my weight. Any chance u could add that as a tracking feature and then have a someone design a BP machine that reads ur BP and automatically uploads it to my Fitbit. Just a thought.

No...if you have an idea they send you to the features area where you wait
and wait and wait...

As I, like millions of people am hypertensive I would like a future or amended device to have a blood pressure monitor included with the other features, steps, heart rate etc.

At present I know of no quality device that meets this large need.

Basically if you make it I will buy it ( famous quotes that resulted in the DC 3 and the 747 Jumbo jet) hopefully your product will just as successful.

Definitely a good feature.

The old blood sugar tracking was horrible. It only allowed three entries per day, had to be attached to a meal time. I use Glucose Buddy on Android. While unfortunately it doesn't backup to the cloud or anything, it nicely does the very simple task of allowing blood sugar and multiple daily injection tracking.

It just makes sense to have this capability added to the dashboard for manual recording and long term tracking.

No time to explain the obvious, if Fitbit won't, someone else will and then where will you be?

I would love for the Blood Pressure tracking to be brought back. I'm not really sure why it was taken away in the first place.  Controlling my BP is my entire reason for being a fitbit user. Not having this anymore really bites.

I too would love this ability.

Manually tracking blood sugar would be good too.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't allow manual tracking of just about anything on the dashboard, anyone that doesn't use it would just disable the panel. Anyone that wants it would get it.

Having this would definitely help avoid customers trying other apps that could end up replacing Fitbit for them...

I agree Trevor, I'm sure there is some programming and implementation costs but it used to be part of the package, it doesn't have to be invented just re-activated.
Thanks for piling on. REO

Ok, a couple of years ago, FitBit removed BP tracking and a few other features. They didn't say why. Since then, about a zillion people have wished it would be brought back. Some of the threads suggesting it in this Idea Exchange have been marked "declined". When an explanation is given, it is a pointer the original announcement that it was being removed with no reason why.

I am confident that FitBit has a reason for removing it. Without knowing the reason, I can't say whether it's a good reason or a stupid reason. The fact that they won't cough up the reason, though, is very suggestive. It's extremely aggravating for them to say nothing at all.

Next time you hear someone from FitBit giving you the blah-blah-blah about the users being very important to them, just weigh this up on the other side. Me? I've been looking for that great all-in-one Android app for a while, and when I find it I'l be punting the FitBit app down the road.

When you find one post it here. The first app that can track everything,
regardless of brands, is going to be getting my business too!

I agree. How is it even possible that Fitbit does not include Blood Pressure and Glucose measurement records? Its the first thing your doctor always wants to see -- 1-Weight, 2-Blood Pressure, 3-Glucose Levels record. I would think a LOT more people would be interested in the PREMIUM Fitbit if they could export their Blood Pressure and Glucose records for their doctors. Just saying.
