Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

I'm actually surprised there's been little progress on this after going through the different topic threads. There's too much bloatware on cell phones regardless of Android or iOS type. Even though there are a lot of companies that make an App to go along with their device-- I know that sometimes with my family relatives that have Diabetes, they need to change their blood sugar reader.

To have the ability to use Fitbit as a universal tracker for this would be a great addition. It'd be a really nice feature for those that are at risk (Pre-Diabetic or with a family history of diabetes) as well as those that have Diabetes, to have a self-contained way to record blood sugar levels and meal and exercise efforts taken to control and track one's health.

My sister and mother both have Diabetes, one type-1, and one type-2, so there's an increased risk for me genetically due to their medical history. Because of this risk, I check my blood sugar even though I'm not under any treatment, but it would be nice to have a preventative health tool available as I've already been tracking meals and exercise with my Fitbit and App.

I've seen the announcement regarding Fitbit and Dexcom as has been linked on other threads, but where does that leave those that may not have or do not want the Ionic because it's an uncomfortable daily ware fit? I wouldn't even mind entering the data manually to have a graph report and provide feedback on what I've entered within my meals and exercise sessions on the Fitbit App. If I've missed something else from the other forums, I would appreciate any links to review. The search feature does not always provide the best results I've found when hunting down information regarding Fitbit features or concerns.

I visit my Fitbit Dashbo, it would be usefull if I could log ard every day.  I think it would be useful, and relatively easy, for you to add the ability to log a blood pressure check.  I take my blood pressure daily, and rather than maintain that log at a separate location it would be useful if I could log that via the dashboard.  This would work in the same way that we can log our changes in weight.

Sorry, somehow this message had part of the content deleted.  The beginning said:  "I visit my Fitbit Dashboard daily.  It would be useful if I could log in my blood pressure check every day"  Thanks

This would be so helpful.  Especially for walkers and others that have hypertension or other conditions where their physician wants regular blood pressure checks.  Or even just people like me that keep track of that kind of health indicator.  I guess there are two different possibilities here.  One is the suggestion for Fitbit devices to measure blood pressure without the cuff.  This would be the ultimate enhancement.

The other which should be extremely easy would be to permit the manual logging and tracking of blood pressure taken with a blood pressure cuff into the dashboard.  That would be almost exactly the same as a daily logging of weight changes.  And I would think that you could almost immediately add that to the Log section of the dashboard with very little effort or cost.

The ideal would be to ultimatey have both.

I don’t agree to your second one that means you need to carry another device when the technology is out there that could be added to your wrist band

Dear Fitbit,

I would love to have as features the ability to check my body temperature and my blood pressure. I believe it shouldn't be too hard to add these features. Body temperature would really assist in your female tracker feature for those looking to get pregnant. And blood pressure could really help older users. I'm thinking a cuff that's interchangeable with the band? Thanks for listening!

This is such a needed feature- because I have stage 2 High BP I will be purchasing a different smart watch that tracks fitness and BP which is critical in understanding my condition without having to hook up to a cuff multiple times throughout the day.

I would love to see blood glucose monitoring as a feature of my Fitbit Versa watch. I came across this article which talks about "researchers at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, in collaboration with MIT, developed an innovative, non-invasive method for monitoring blood glucose levels utilizing a technique known as Rama spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy is a method that utilizes lasers for chemical composition identification." Previous studies have shown that this technology can be used to measure blood glucose levels. See the link below:

Any news on a Fitbit Blood Pressure upgrade? I want to stay with Fitbit line but I need to easily monitor and track my blood pressure for reporting to my MD.        Are there plans to include this capability this year??

Thanks!

I haven't heard anything.

There is a $250 watch out there that uses a cuff technology to measure BP.
I would like to see a small cuff inside a ring you could wear that does the
same thing on a finger. Would it be as accurate as a wrist or arm cuff?
Don't know but if it connected with your fitbit via BT, it would be really
cool. Someone should look into that. I am not an engineer.

For General Information:

There is a $250 watch out there that uses a cuff technology built into the wrist band to measure BP. I would like to see a small cuff inside a ring you could wear that does the same thing on a finger. Would it be as accurate as a wrist or arm cuff? Don't know, but if it connected with your fitbit via BT, it would be really cool. You could get real time BP measurement. Someone should look into that. I am not an engineer.

I had to quit using my fitbit when my doctor told me I had to keep track of my blood pressure and heart rate.  So disappointed that fitbit is so far behind in the health part an only interested in the exercise part.

Please start thinking of people with health issues ...  we wear this kind of product to help us stay alive.

You have not kept up with less expensive products that seem to do what you do + so much more.

My doctor wants to know what my heart and blood pressure are doing when I walk 3 miles in the morning....or when I am biking or watching TV or  just sleeping....I would like an alarm because I need to take a pill when I reach a certain #

I see Fitbit came out with a new charger 4. I’m not interested unless it has blood pressure recording

Agree, very disappointed.  Actually it seems that Fitbit DOES care about your health, if you live in the EU,  They partnered with FibriCheck to detect abnormal heart rhythms.  Not available in US of course.  I think I'll return mine also.  see link: https://www.fibricheck.com/#popmake-1368

Fitbit has been working with different countries to get into the medical end. However to add blood pressure to the charge 3 will require adding hardware that has not part of the tracker.

If you want Fitbit to have a certified device to measure blood pressure, it will need to have FDA approval. Thhis takes time. It will also require adding hardware that currently is not on the tracker.

So for the most accurate way to measure BP is with a BP cuff.

Most untidy without a cuff simply look at the heart beat and say, this is what your BP should be.
