Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

Hmmmmmm - I have doubts about a watch phone which measures b/p being considered a ‘medical device’ —- I would love if you would share a link to your source as I would really appreciate being able to read it.

Thanks so much!

I see this as an opportunity for someone to come up with a a third-party
device. I saw a watch that uses it band to act as a cuff to compress the
wrist to take BP measurements. In the next generation of Fitbit watches
there could be a ring that compresses around a finger to do the same and
connect to the Fitbit via Bluetooth to enact BP measurement. A ring is
smaller and probably less expensive to produce (the watch with the
compressing band costs ~$250).

@pleighton their ew several BP monitors that will interface with the AW and a third party makes a watchband/BP Cuff that interfaces with their AW App. This band has an internal battery and an Air Pump.

Yes @eugeneflyon this watch claimed to read BP 24/7 and has many good reviews none of which day anything about the BP. The not so good reviews are the one as that mention their disappointment with the BP function.

A shame that it is not important to Fitbit.Right now I am wearing a watch I paid $30 for that takes my blood pressure and heart rate. Also does a better job tracking my walking....I have a GPS map of my walk with time, speedand my heart rate through the whole walk that and + other steps... mileage and more.
Also does better when we bike...
We get twice as much info as the Fitbit
The Fitbit might have been just a tad better for sleeping.
I have to say the only thing that was better on my Fitbit was that you could read it a littlebit better in the sun....Not enough for the price difference.I also could get a nicer watch band.
Time for you to come into the 21 century and not just offer a watch with email.

Can you post a link to the FDA site that shows cd eradication of that $30 watch @saltree?

Would like to see the ability of the Fitbit watches to determine blood pressure. Since having a floppy valve this would be helpful for me to continue to monitor the state of my BP

I just want to be able to log the BP measured from the digital cuff device I already have.  Measuring BP from a wrist watch is out there, but the accuracy has not been proven enough for me to want to jump over and spend that money.  Having a displayable numerical value to the pulse ox levels would be an improvement too, but maybe that will come when I upgrade from my Charge 2.

Cardiex.com / Atcor medical https://atcormedical.com/ have just developed a wearable sensor and associated algorithms that provide clinical level feedback on heart and arterial health Blood pressure also - see https://atcormedical.com/solutions/consumer/
I would like to see Fitbit adopt the tech to the benefit of all users

Hi there,  my preference would be for the post to be stand alone separate.   It is likely to be lost under the general blood pressure posting.  If you haven’t already, I suggest you look at the links Provided and presentation (in link) more closely.   What is being proposed is far more than just a blood pressure monitor.  An FDA clinically approved sensor providing heart and arterial system function monitoring - including blood pressure.  The point is this tech if adopted could revolutionise personal cardiac and arterial system health care Management (including fitness goals).  More importantly The ability for early identification of heart health concerns, tailored management with your doctor and personalised monitoring at home  (which enables personal correction / tailoring of meds if needed).   If you look into what has been provided and recommended, I think you will agree it should stand alone........otherwise  the “holy grail” of recently developed tech will be lost from Fitbit and taken on by others!  I understand Googles MobVoi is to adopt this tech in 2021.

The ability of Fitbit to make a device that can accurately measure BP is unlikely but providing personal choice options on the dashboard would be helpful. I check my BP each day (I work at hospital so it's easy) but between my other health programs logs and my BP log, I'm having to jump from 4 websites to track. It'd be great to have them in 1 spot

Just like you can log in water, food, or sleep hours/ allow for blood pressure measurements. That info will help those that need to control BP and with the studies FB is doing with heart and Covid studies.

Continuous glucose monitor (CGM) startup Movano is developing a connected CGM wearable that doesn't require the user to break the skin with a needle or **ahem**. Rather, the company uses an onboard radio frequency-powered sensor, which it combines with a cloud-based network app and proprietary machine learning algorithms.

You can search on Movano to find the press release.

I initiated this idea 2 years ago - nothing done still! Omron has already done this so you know where I go next. I need to get myself off this thread - just frustrating to see the same response for 2 years. Just say nothing is going to happen already.

Thanks for the note. Two years! So many watches have this but I don’t know which ones are good and which are scams.

I am a Type 2 diabetic and my program that I am in with Virta Health monitors my blood pressure.  Currently I have to use another Fitbit type device to take my BP daily.  I would love to have a Fitbit that measures my BP so that I do not have to have 2 different devices.  I am able to sync my Fitbit to my Real Appeal/Rally Coach program but not for my BP.  It sure would be a nice feature.  I would purchase a new Fitbit but until then, I will keep the one that I have had for about 4 years now.
