Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

What's so hard about adding a function to the Fitbit app that allows us to manually record (and then store by date) blood pressure readings after measuring blood pressure with a third-party blood-pressure measuring device?

Fine if the Fitbit hardware/software/device itself can't accurately detect and measure blood pressure.  But completely inexcusable that there's no Fitbit app mechanism for manually recording and storing blood pressure readings.  A high school student could add this to this kind of manual recording/measuring feature to the app.

Agreed with BP and BG interfaces...

if not even a manual entry option would be awesome.

Do you have any updates on this? It's kind of dissapointing fitbit lacks these features (currently on the Charge 3) while much cheaper other devices can do this by default.

Can't believe there is still no BP tracker available - so many people would find this useful. Why not have a manual feature? Doesn't need to integrate with a particular device.

Because Fitbit fell behind others a long time ago from being a bleeding edge company in the business of health trackers

The need for blood pressure monitoring is real!  Please consider adding this to a FitBit product!  I’ve searched for a product that does this & have been recently scammed by an online offering.  We need a reputable company like yours to make this available for us!

Hi @stewartnl, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. As the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Hi - My chronic fatigue forces me to keep my heart rate at a much lower level than before I got sick. While I can check Fitbit display to see if my rate has gone too high, I would love it if the FB could notify you if it is entering a danger zone (kind of like the reminder to move once an hour).

Likewise, I have been fainting lately -- we think maybe low blood pressure?  Would be great if FB could display BP, so I could see if I am approaching a dangerous level and sit down.  I realize that all of these indicators are only approximations on a wrist band. Thanks!

Hi Perhaps they will at some distant point in the future do the SPO2 before any Blood Pressure Reading. However don’t “hold your breath”.  There are some wrist strap on BP monitor which may help.

To achieve your request will be a  problem as BP Reading is not a continuous measurement with feedback being sent to Fitbit device. Sorry

Currently I've only read about one device that can measure the blood pressure without a blood pressure cuff and it was still waiting for FDA approval.

Yes one company makes a wrist band for the Apple watch. It has sensors and an air pump, communicated with the watch through BT. Works just like your Blood Pressure Cuff.

Thanks for those comments.  Trying to find a way to monitor falling BP to pre-empt fainting episodes.

Best, Carol

Hi Carol SBW consider that hypoglycemia can also cause this. Just a thought

I would love to see a new fitbit that monitors glucose!  I think this would be important.  You google smartwatch glucose monitors and the iconic pops up all over the place but it doesnt!

Dear Marcel,

As the one who started this thread, I would like to weigh in.

You say it is available on the Dashboard, but it is not!  If it is, it is well hidden.  I am aware that adding a feature that monitored glucose would be a herculean task and understand why it has not happened yet.  But, a place where a person can log their blood sugar and blood pressure would be very easy to add and it is a mystery why it has not already occurred.  Again, you have said more than once that it is available on the Dashboard - but it does not show up on mine, or on anyone else's that has posted here.  When I click the link to add to my Dashboard, I get the message that I already have all that is available.

You are probably very sincere in sending us the boilerplate message saying that this is already a feature and is available, but you need to do some research and actually access your Dashboard to see that it is not available.  And, if it is available on your's, you need to explain to us plebians how to get it on ours.

Sincerely,

Dan M. Appel
