Blood pressure Fitbit device with historical tracking

It would be great if Fitbit either created a blood pressure monitor and a glucose monitor that would sync with the dashboard or if they would team up with another company (Omron, diabetic community app) to have their product sync with the dashboard instead of having to manually enter it.

I agree blood pressure is more important then heart rate. I've been trying to get FitBit to add blood pressure for almost a year now and not getting anywhere.

I admit to not knowing exactly how the Charge 3 measures SpO2, but seeing as a normal pulse oximeter can be used to measure blood pressure, it would be a very nice feature if the Charge 3 could be used in the same way!

@wahnxsinn Thank you for your suggestion about making Charge 3 to measure blood pressure.

I moved it to this thread to maintain this board organized and because it is the same idea.

I have a separate band for Blood Pressure & it is somewhat accurate. If another company can do it, so could fitbit and probably with better accuracy. Please consider this as I must monitor my BP frequently.

Forgot to mention that I have the Ionic and this would be a perfect upgrade for an "Ionic 2."

Fitbit, please catch up with the times. Checking Blood Pressure has been on your radar for sometime. Don't take as long to catch up with this as you did with using kilojoules for our food count. For some of us the checking of daily / weekly blood pressure is very important. If we can do this in the privacy of our homes instead of continually using the space in medical clinics and taking up the doctors time unless it is more urgent.

I have a second band that I just use for BP & It's pretty accurate. If
other wearables can do it, so can fitbit. I would rather have just a fitbit
with BP included as a standard feature. I need to monitor my BP each day
and would find this really helpful.

It should be possible to add via software update and use the PWTT algorithm that other watches are using. Step up your game Ftibit!

Totally!

This would be a great feature.  Other cheaper models have this and the readings are pretty accurate doing a side by side with a traditional cuff.  Would love to have my Fitbit be able to check and track this.

It's certainly do-able and now that Google has acquired Fitbit, they may
push for more innovation.

Agreed that this is needed, please just give us the PWTT algorithm solution!

I have seen many watches out there now with blood pressure monitoring using the light sensors that Fitbit currently use to monitor heart rate.  They are also able to monitor oxygen levels in the blood too (isn't technology great?).  I have the Cardiogram app that is linked to Fitbit, that app when linked with other smartwatches and health trackers is also able to alert you to abnormal heart rhythms and blood pressure via the phone app.  It would be great if Fitbit were incorporate this in it's heart rate monitors as a firmware upgrade.   Maybe now they have been purchased by Google, it may happen as all the google wearables have this functionality and are compatible with Cardiogram, or, maybe they will block it allow the continued sales of their other products?  I am aware of how the BP cuffs work by creating pressure to read the pulse, but technology moves on, I am hoping that Fitbit will continue with their desire to be market leaders and add this feature to EXISTING products, or create a new one if it isn't possible as a firmware upgrade.

Hi @lianthanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here to keep this board organized.

I am still waiting for fitbit to incorporate the blood pressure reading into their devices. As soon as they do, I will get a new one.

MorePro does have the blood pressure feature which is why I have to use them but I would much prefer to use Fitbit as I consider the rest of Fitbit’s product much more superior.  The blood pressure feature is actually pretty accurate so the technology is available and viable for Fitbit to get into and use. It would sure help me as I have to take my results to my doctor’s appointments.   I look forward to a time when Fitbit has this technology added to their products and hopefully soon!!!!

I see so many suggestions and comments since years in multiple places but has Fitbit come up with a plan. Is it going to be a feature.

I recently upgraded my smart watch hoping to see many features but this was a big bummer.

Perhaps in the "Ionic 2?"

Please include b/p measurement capability.   I was going to upgrade and then didn’t because FitBit doesn’t include this feature.

I second that idea there are many out there especially older people who could use the blood pressure and glucose check feature...highly recommend you add that ability to your fitbit line...

I have recently had reason to get back on my diabetes efforts and found this article....

Am I missing something?  I can't seem to find the community they are referring to.

Thanks,

After reading some past comments I would like to clarify at least my desires for the fitbit app.  I think it is ridiculous at this point to to expect Fitbit to include a BG monitoring option.  It would be nice if the app would sync with other apps that do track BG levels and display it in the dashboard. There are many apps out there to track with manual or Bluetooth entry that I would just like to see the results of on my dashboard.

I'm dont know how an activity watch can track blood glucose levels, blood pressure maybe. I have an app called fibricheck that works with the ionic and I think the versa that checks for abnormalities in heart beat, it brilliant for checking on a ticker and its Fda & CE approved too.

Pardon my ignorance but isn't it a trivial programming task to add a tile (or whatever) that enables the user to manually enter a BP reading obtained with a different device?

Thanks,

Brian
