Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

I am ever hopeful that someone's remarks will spark Google to get back the old sleep part of thier app. It's so discouraging that no one cares!!!

For them to apologize means they did something wrong or there is something to blame to apologize for. This will never happen. Google needs to responsibility and so does Fitbit. There are things in place to protect the consumer, which is not being done. Google that and see what your options are. They will hide by the community forum and terms and conditions; this applies to the terms and conditions and the community forum.

Thank you,

They started their self-described "update" process, the results of which have pretty much universally been deemed a steep downgrade, starting last September with the decimation of the previously highly valued sleep portion of the app earlier this year.  The community response from virtually every respondent has been vociferous in frustration and dismay only made worse by zero direct response to issues raised combined with the relentless deletion of comments by moderators (this one will be toast very quickly).  Change from a large corporation should not be expected to take place on the circumference of a dime: think super tanker performing a big turn in the straights of Valdez without running aground.  But enough time has elapse without even simple acknowledgement from the development team that we all need to accept the message in the silence that the Fitbit user base is irrelevant to the future plans for just the Pixel line of products.  It's a published reality that Google harvested the superior technology of Fitbit for it's Pixel products and is in the process of killing Fitbit.  At this point there are not that many more nails needed to close the coffin lid.  This sad fate has been documented in multiple published sources as if publishing that fact was necessary to point out what has painfully become obvious.  While I'm typically pretty determined to push against something like what has happened to a once-loved product, as I have others need to realize that at this point we're pis*ing (urinating) into the wind and it's just blowing back in our faces.  Time to look at the numerous other very adequate competitors making a point to forever avoid any product owned or controlled by Google.  RIP Fitbit.  Put to death well before your time.

Yes, I agree. And the issue you mentioned, "making a point to forever avoid
any product owned or controlled by Google" has been an ongoing theme. Your
comment should be sent upstairs for sure. Although they don't really care,
it would be nice to think that Google didn't anticipate losing so many
future purchasers due to this neglectful, insensitive Marketing philosophy.

Complaining, and certainly, asking for a change will do no good. The popular
and tech press has skewered them albeit gently. We all just got stuck in the
demise of a product that worked so well for us. I'm sure this isn't unusual.
When US Airways acquired American Airlines in 2013, the operations part of
AA went down the tubes dramatically. Just ask any AA employee.

We got screwed, that's it.

As a possible way to get visibility to the level of concern related to the
horrible nature of the "new" sleep app .. anyone seeing this (or ANY of the
posts) .. needs to deluge ( inundate ) these forums with their feelings.

The problem with this problem is all of us have other jobs. We can't sit on
chat session after chat session hoping someone at Google will say "wow, I
guess this IS a problem. maybe we SHOULD take action" (but I believe even
this would have no effect, as someone would have to admit they made a
horrible mistake)

This has been an issue for quite some time and there has not been an acceptable resolution to Fitbit users. Making a complaint or request is very difficult and time consuming.Im anure many others would compla if the process wasn’t so difficult! It’s appalling that this issue has not been addressed!

If Anyone Cared (Nickelback) at Google or Fitbit, these issues would be resolved.

I decided to bite the bullet and rolled my Android Fitbit app back following an online guide linked below and wow, I forgot how nice the old layout was. So simple but with all your data and no need to click into layers of sub screens/menus. Remember the landscape sleep chart they removed? And that list of sleep data for each night. I think you can find this buried somewhere in the new app but it reduced in its data presentation and its a pain to get to.

Good for you. How did you roll back? Does this mean you cannot update? Android?

To roll back see the web link I included in my post.

Yes I disabled auto-update in Google Play Store for this app and I will stay on this version until Fitbit break its functionality somehow in the future.

Oops, no link in your post. Could they have deleted it? Wouldn't be
surprised.

Maybe you won't get this either. :0(

The link is right there before all the screen shots. I followed the directions and it works...for now.

Yeah, I'm seeing no links. They must be deleting them.

Thanks anyway.
Has what has happened been publicly reported?

Why did they ruin a good thing? I absolutely hate the new sleep graph. I could easily see it and I could tap the graph to see the time when say for instance, I woke up through the night.

I have sleep issues and sleep tracking is the one feature I rely on every single day.  If fitbit doesn't restore it, I'm taking my money elsewhere. My birthday is coming up - Garmin has a great sleep graph, I hear...

A link for what?

Looks like those who have managed to wind back the update may be being held to ransom now........

MANY things have failed with multiple watches since the bad update (Sleep
Update). They have apparently made behind the scenes updates as well, as my
wife's watch just started failing and she had not updated.

I have continually reached out to moderators and support.

Most answers are simply "our developers are aware". One caring support
person stated we should not expect any correction to the issue as "certain
levels recommended this change and don't consider it worth of being fixed"
(i.e. don't care about end user emotions or concerns)

As a result of the poor (or no) responses from both support and moderators,
I have switched to Oura which has proved to be both as good as my Fitbit
and BETTER, as it provides much more analytics

You should send this really nice comment to the tech magazine that printed this problem.

There’s now a message that unless you update the app it may stop
functioning after Sept 30.
