Bring back the old sleep summary page

When I had my Charge 5 and the first few weeks of having my Charge 6 the app would give me a sleep summary page with, Sleep Stages, Time in each stage, Oxygen levels and Bedtime and wakeup all on a handy page. Since a recent update I now seem to get a much more basic three tiles and I have to open each one and look through for all the information.

the sleep app is so much worse today on Fitbit. It is unusable. I switched
to Oura and the details are amazing

Our comments are not taken seriously... The redesigning programmers should have a talk with Fitbit.

I agree. Have you found a replacement yet? I am looking.

I agree wholeheartedly.
the new one is useless for me. I end up using the heart rate to estimate my sleep instead.

Sleep monitoring is the most important feature, and Fitbit is now useless for this. It is the main reason why I am currently shopping for an Apple Watch.

Were there any actual users to provide feedback for the new sleep tracker output before forcing this on everyone????  It is terrible and not a single aspect that is an improvement. BRING BACK the former setup and don’t let the people that designed the not-upgrade touch any other part of the user experience

It doesn't matter. Google wouldn't have listened to any of the testers.

I am still learning about the changes with the fitbit/Google update.  So far, I hate it and feel like it might be time to move on from Fitbit to something else.  I used to be a proud fitbit wearer but not anymore.  if the sleep features and others are not restored, that’s it for me.

Just want to say how much I hate the new sleep tracker. It is useless for me. I use the heart rate to get a better idea about my sleep cycle.
Why did you change it in the first place? Who thought this was a good idea, and why?

The new sleep graph is difficult to use e.g. to sum the awake times. Also can't enter horizontal display mode when rotate the iPhone. PLEASE bring back the old graph, or at least make it an option for the user!

I completely agree that the new sleep summary is more difficult to see and should be changed back to the old way. The previous color scheme was easier to read and analyze the data at a glance. There was also a small hash mark representing each hour. Now it only shows the sleep time and wake time and then apparently the time in the exact middle of those two times. How is that helpful? We used to be able to scroll through each sleep stage and see a graph for just that sleep stage. The oxygen variation was also easier to read in the old version. The benchmark and 30-day averages were also easier to read before. I used to enjoy analyzing my sleep data every morning and now I barely glance at it. I usually just focus on total time of sleep. My husband has entirely stopped using his Fitbit due to these changes, and my 78 year old mom is also very disappointed with the changes and barely uses her Fitbit now, which concerns me. Please listen to your customers who are very unhappy with these changes. We are not simply unhappy with something new but we’ll eventually get used to it. These changes are NOT improvements and you will lose happy customers who will also not recommend your products to others. Thank you.

Most of us totally agree with you. No argument here.

I had a moment to see the sleep modules in both the Apple app and Aura.
Although I didn't have access to dig very deep, most of the displays looked
EXACTLY like our new, inadequate Fitbit sleep modules. It's pretty obvious
that what Fitbit/Google said was, "let's get in line with all of our
competition. If they all look like that, we should, too." So, that's exactly
what they did.

There was no introspection about whether Fitbit was different in a GOOD way.
No, let 's just follow everyone else.

So, Fitbit blindly, untested, copied the graphs and presentations of their
competition with no consideration that they already had a good product and
should be proud of being a leader (for a very short time). So they went with
the crowd and chose to inadequately be like everyone else vs proud of being
both different and high quality. They obviously had no concern about their
users. Did anyone who registered their product get a survey about what we
thought of the modules, input on them, etc? Of course not. Did anyone ask to
be part of a test/beta team? Of course not. This update was not a minor
one.it was a total overhaul and poor judgement. Of course, Fitbit won't care
anyway. The new Fitbits are now being available on Amazon at reduced price,
and those new owners will have no idea what they might have had.

That said, many of the new purchasers will still be unhappy in general with
the display, color schemes, data (Fitbit thinks that more data is better -
not better organized, usable data) but with no comparison, will think
they've struck gold - and if they can't understand the graphs will figure it
must be their fault.not Fitbit's "well thought-out" modules.

It's just the way it is. They will never revert.

Fitbit had something good in their hands.possibly the best at the time but
has since lost it in order to fall in line with the other inadequate
companies. Perhaps, someday, new eyes will decide that "best" is better and
rethink the designs with users input.

Until then, current users are unhappy and . it is what it is.

Agreed with OP 100%. After the loss of adventures and challenges, I lost a lot of my interest in FitBit, but I still use the device for the watch, timer, alarms, and sleep data. However, the new sleep page layout is pointless! The old one was prettier, having a better vibe for sleep, and, more importantly, it was much easier to navigate and compare days of sleep, since all your sleep periods were neatly stacked on top of each other. I appreciated the ease of comparing REM periods to figure out when my longest one generally is, which is crucial to some lucid dreaming methods I want to try. Google, FitBit team, please revert to the previous layout and theme!

(adding onto my previous post since I see no option to edit.)

I've considered switching to another app and watch for awhile now, but the sleep tracking was one of my favorite features. With that getting ruined for me, I might just finally make the switch. So, if anyone knows of any reliable apps with reliable sleep tracking, then please let me know.

Is there any plan to bring back the old sleep tracker in fitbit?  I have used Fitbit for years.  I almost moved to the Apple Watch but then stayed with Fitbit solely because of the sleep tracker.  The new design has to be some of the WORST product strategy, thinking, and execution I've ever seen.  Anyone in product management knows you want strong visuals of the main thing people look at,  you want as few clicks as possible for them to take the main actions they regularly take, and you dont want to change things people love without extensive testing.  Any A/B test woudl have shown fitbit their new sleep tracker was a horrible design and made for a cumbersome user experience.

The new sleep tracker: a) is inaccurate, b) is harder to read, c) doesnt give you a linear/visual view of how your sleep progressed in a way that your mind can easily grasp, d) altering the time asleep and time awake now takes 3 extra clicks than before.   This is a nightmare.  Are they bringing back the old one?  If not, i think i'm finally moving to apple. or someone else.  but this interface is garbage.

related to the Fitbit sleep app, the Oura uses a format very similar to the
old Fitbit sleep app. The Oura additionally has much better detail than
Fitbit AND has the benefit that it frees up my wrist

I use my fitness tracker as an gadget accessory . It functions as a watch with easy to use timers and stop watches, but it also has the ability to use Google Assistant, which can control smart devices in my house (Fans, lights, etc). The Oura won't be an ideal solution for me. I still need to look into it, but either Garmin or Samsung might be the best replacement for a watch.

Garmin should be able to use Google assistant, so might just go with them.

I agree! I tried to give the new Sleep Summary format a chance, but still after this many months, I find myself wishing the old format was back. The new format is hard to read, confusing, and I find myself not checking it because it's not super enticing. I have also considered canceling my premium subscription because of this, but I keep holding out hoping that it will go back to the old format.

It seems the most recent update removed the stages of sleep altogether!!! Now I only have hours slept. Thats useless! Please bring back the stages or guess I’ll just find another device altogether.

Fortunately my Apple phone has me manually updating my apps and as I’ve not updated the Fitbit I have the old sleep info.  If it happens that by not updating it stops working efficiently I’ll look into another device.  I use mostly for steps and sleep info so hopefully there will be another alternative.

Wow. The new update just happened to me overnight and now I have nothing but Awake, Restless and Asleep. This is useless for effective sleep analysis. Some of us shift workers with irregular sleep patterns used this data frequently. This update is horrible. Can we use an old update or is there an alternative.

I have been a fitbit customer for 9 years. I think you just lost me,
