@mieranda noone looks here, you have to contact one of the Windows developers directly. You find some of them in topics talking about Windows in the community.
It said that you could get the caller id on the Fitbit but it doesn't work on windows phone so we are paying more money for caller Id and it doesn't even work
Moderator Edit: Updated title for clarity and labels.
So almost a year and a half ago there was a post to say 'it is coming'. I appreciate that there are other feature requests, but it would be nice to know 'when it is coming', or has this simply run out of fitness on its journey?
@steliosk They are working on adding call notifications to the Windows Phone app, but they haven't released a time frame for it yet. But it is coming.'
I'm giving up. I'm going to buy the Windows version of this thing, so I can have the features I wanted in the FitBit. I will likely NEVER buy another FitBit product, nor will I recommend to my friends. I am SOOOOO disappointed in lack of service and support here. If they don't have the caller ID feature for Windows phones, why don't they just put that information on the box? UGH.
So the main reason I was upgrading to the Alta was for the notifications. Come to find out they do not work for Windows phone. Additionally, the fitbit app doesn't even recognize it. Is that going to change any time soon? I called cs and they said it was being worked on but had no time frame to offer. Should put on the main Alta page that the feature only works with iOS and android, I would have waited to buy one.
I returned my broken Surge and my brand new Blaze today and have moved onto MS Band2. Sick and tired of companies ignoring the 4% of us WP users. See ya all, have fun on the Fitbit side
@GeauxMa I understand your frustration. But this is a "community forum" not a "help" or "support". fitbits support is amazing if you call, email or tweet. On here they do absolutely nothing. They may enter data into a spread sheet for info for later R&D. If you have a WP then switch to MS Band, the data is more precise anyhow.
I HAVE called Fitbit for help, and they give me promises of "we're getting to that soon." It's been months. I don't look on this forum for help, as I am an IT professional and can usually figure out devices like a Fitbit without much help. However, when the device says it can show caller ID and text messages from my smart phone, I expect it to do just that. Nowhere on the box does it say "except Windows phones."
When i wanted to buy the charge HR i asked in the live chat if my phone (Lumia 950) could receive call notifications. They said it could. However i could not get it to work because i was missing this feature and asked live chat again; Is this feature available for my phone and apparently it isn't. So I got the charger HR and got dissapointed by the fact it is lacking a feature where they told me it was there. Any idea when this feature is coming?
Fitbit, it is a major oversight on your part not having notifications supported on Windows phones. I know for a fact you are losing a lot of customers by delaying putting out an update with this long overdue fix.
I feel so let down. Before I bought my Lumia I made SURE -- THROUGH FITBIT -- that this was a supported device. Now it's too late to return my Lumia and I don't have one the the features that made me choose Blae over the Apple Watch in the first place. I have been practically a salesperson for Fitbit for the past several years and really really love having mine. But I am so sad about this, it was so important to me to have notifications on my wearable. That's a huge reason why I wanted one!
Fitbit, please at least tell us when you think you might release the compatability feature. 2016? 2018? NEVER? Because if it's never, I will have to return my Blaze and get the Apple Watch and never look back.
Funny how I see some ancient posts here. I just got a charge hr for my birthday and hey, guess what, no caller id!! Shame as I love the little gadget, but I think its time for fitbit to live up to their word and finally make a compatible app for my windows phone.
I just purchased a total of four fitbit charges for my family today. I am really disappointed that the caller ID does not work yet with windows phones. IIt is the one option I was looking forward to!!!! It is sad that so much time has gone by since these came out and they are still not able to get that option up and running for us! I wish somebody could advise why and if they are still working on it.
They have not updated their packaging either. If they're not going to support Windows phones, they could at least tell people that before they invest in a Fitbit.
Kiran works on the team.
We published this video for //Build2016 this year – https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2016/P460
In it, Kiran talk about how we plan to make unpaired BLE interaction available later this year. GATT Server APIs will be available to developers in that update so please stay tuned! I’ll reply back on this thread when it’s ready but suffice to say we’re hard at working making this happen. Thanks again for your support!

So what does this mean for non techys??
Basically the issue is not and has never been FitBit's it's been due to microsoft not providing the functionality for third party's to implement this feature, however later this year they will be providing this feature, so hopefully FitBit can implement very soon after.
It would be really nice to have the full feature set of the Surge be avaliable when paired with a Windows Phone. The lack of support and price point of the msft band is making it a much more appealing alternative to the surge.
I can't seem to receive any call or message notifications on my Alta. It was one of reasons I why I bought this particular device. Can you please make this option available for the Windows Phone?
I have a charge HR and have been waiting for this feature since christmas. I understand that fitbit need to wait for microsoft to provide the same abilities they use in android and apple devices to send the notification. Apparently microsoft should be provide this ability in a few weeks with the next major update to Windows 10 inc mobile. So hopefully not too long after that fitbit will finally be able to provide us the notification ability
I got an Alta because of its sleek design and ability to have call/text alert only to find out it won't work with my Lumia 1020. Such a disappointment to get a watch and then not be able to use it to its fullest. Please add Windows 8.1 support!!!
