I would definitely like to see a challenge tile on the dash board on my PC. I prefer the PC dashboard overall but I have to use my phone for the challenges. And my phone doesn't sync with my FitBit so I pretty much have to go back and forth between the two.
FInally! Please do make this change and quickly. There is a market segment out here waiting for this to happen before we start doling out Fitbits as gifts to people without smartphones.
I would like to request that every time I am issued a challenge, a new tile appears on my dashboard for that challenge. I have only ever had one challenge going at a time, but I have three different friends groups represented on my FitBit list, so it is conceivable that I could have two or more going on at once. I like the idea of having separate tiles for each one, maybe up to a limit of some number your server techs set.
This would mean that there isn't a tile always visible for challenges, but that one would appear whenever I accepted a challenge.
I would very much like to see Challenges added to the Web Dashboard. I don't have a phone or an android tablet. I live where there is no phone service and I don't like tablets. I feel that it is unfair and that fitbit is discriminating against web users. Not having the challenges on the web is really frustrating and limits the web users in what they can do, not letting us interact with our friends, which is a primary source of fitness motivation.
well said Katie many of us agree and have frequently voiced our opinions as well!!!! Not sure why fitbit has not responded, given us any updates or even started on this endeavor. Very disappointing.
Joanie - they responded on the 15th June and said they've moved this topic to "Under Consideration" So that's a step forward 🙂 Hopefully it won't take them too long to consider it 🙂
It would be great if we could manage our challenges on the website. Also, it would be cool to track win and loss records as well as activity level on different days of the week. Thanks!
Please add this! It'll make challenges accessible to more people.
I've personally found that challenges with your friends are a GREAT motivation for exercising. But unfortunately some of my friends don't use a smartphone and so cannot join challenges 😞
The addition of challenges to the desktop would be an ideal add-on which would give everyone the same chance. Not everyone I know has a smartphone or wants to get the app!
I agree with others that Challenges should be available from the Dashboard and not just the smartphone apps. I just challenged my mother to her first Goal Day. She does not have a smartphone and only uses the Fitbit.com software on her computer. I am her only FitBit "friend", so she was excited to take my challenge. I felt terrible when I came here and learned we could not participate online together. She is still willing to challenge me by turning in her numbers at the end of the day so we can compare. I'm glad she is a good sport and will hopefully get her steps in today. Please update your software and add the Challenges so non-smartphone users can participate with their Friends. Thank you.
Absolutely.... pleaaaaaaaase add it to the dashboard! Not fair that I can't do challenges because of no Smartphone! Although, my sister tells me that she uses her girlfriend's old Smartphone JUST FOR APPS.... not for a phone... without paying a monthly fee... and as long as she's near wi-fi it will work. This is making me curious, as I saw a "Net10 Android Smart Phone" on sale in Family Dollar's flyer... for $9. It said "Save $40". I know NOTHING about Smartphones, but does anyone know if that phone would work like my sister says hers does... just for apps near wi-fi & no monthly fees, as long as you don't need the "phone" part? It also says "airtime sold separately". I have no idea what that means since I've never had a Smartphone, but does that just mean the monthly phone charge... which I hopefully wouldn't need in this case? I'm clueless here. And this is how bad I want the Challenge Feature on the dashboard... that I'm researching buying a cheap-o phone just for apps. 🙂 Bring it to the dashboard, Fitbit! Make it happen!
It would be a great idea to place Challenges Tile on the PC. As with a thread I dropped in the Discussion thread a while back it seems to have some backing. And some people have stated they can't use their phones so as such miss out on being challenged by friends
I uploaded the Fitbit Android app in order to accept a friend request, even though I know my phone isn't compatible with syncing my steps as I go. I wanted to delete the app, as it's taking valuable space on my phone for being relatively unusable, and she has sent me a challenge.
As there are a number of phones that aren't compatible for syncing, wouldn't it make sense to add the challenge tile to the Dashboard on our computer interfaces as well?
I would like to see a little more consistency in the functionality of the smartphone app vs the web app and this is a prime example.
I don't understand why challenges wouldn't be in the web. I would think you'd start with the web app first and then roll-out the functions to the mobile apps since it's more likely a person can use the web app and not everyone has a phone.
I agree, I'd love to see my challenges on my dashboard. I still have an iphone 4 and the fitbit app is ok at best on there. I mainly use my computer dashboard to check in on my fitbit progress.
