Check SpO2 at anytime on supported Fitbit devices

The new Sp02 clock face is nice, but can you also add the ability to check Sp02/pulse ox at anytime during the day rather than just during sleep?

Could you ask Fitbit for us customers why they still have not released real
time SPO2 readouts on the many watches of theirs that have the hardware?
If Garmin and other firms can, there's no reason why Fitbit can't.

I remember that when I bought my Versa it 'featured' SPO2 readings. They
forgot to mention that it would be a mystery non-detailed graph and if you
can find it, an equally useless number hidden somewhere on your watch that
purports to be some sort of average. I got my Sense because they told me
it would work better than my Versa. Not really - was really more a problem
of bad software. The Sense is nice - but a lot harder to operate, and
still has no viable SPO2 usability.

I’d expected on demand SPO2 on demand to be part of the package, just a minute or two at a time would be great

That would be a huge help, though I'd also like the option of having it
track, say a reading every 5 to 10 seconds, and display it. I think that
the user should be able to pick which way they want to use it. Also, same
sort of thing overnight. They track it, but all they let you see is a
mystery average and an even more mysterious graph. I'd like real numbers
that I can download along with other fitness data.

id use it every day.  These kinds of features are what keep me using these things. 

also, seriously? During the pandemic, when we are all encouraged to have an oxygen sensor, you put one on there and made it accessible only one time a day? That’s kind of dumb, isn’t it?

It's not 'one time per day', it's some sort of average for the period
Fitbit thinks you were sleeping, if it thinks you slept long enough to
'count', and unless you have a face that shows it or know how to dig into
TODAY, you don't see it. It does not show on your phone - all you get
there is a timeless mystery variance chart that doesn't actually tell you
anything even slightly useful.

And again, Fitbit refuses to explain their unwillingness to let you use a
feature you've paid for. A fitness watch that omits such a critical number
yet is as expensive as Sense and the Versa's feels like quite a ripoff.

Well, whatever it is, it’s not what people want and thought they were buying. 

I was very tempted to replace my second broken Fit Bit* (charge 3) with a Luxe because I can’t stand the big, clunky look of these things. One of the most important reasons I eo7nd up going with the Charge 5 is that I thought I was getting o e that I can measure any time I want—like the Apple Watch I’ll be returning in the next couple of days. I might not have thought the Apple Watch was worth what I spent, but it does have this feature. 

*Asterisk to include this: At this point, I consider Fit Bits disposable. I had my first one in December 2017, replaced that with the Charge 3 in early 2019, so just over a year with the first one. The Charge 3 started malfunctioning about 6 months ago, so I got only about 18 mo the out of that one. I do think Fit Bit’s app is very well done, and unlike the Apple Watch, it’s very intuitive. (Unusual for Apple.) And the sleep analysis blows Apple away. Still, with a track record like that, yes, I consider these things disposable. I might return this Charge 5 and lick up the Kuxe instead. I can’t stand the clock faces on this, I wanted that oxygen sensor, and already, just one day, I’m not getting text notifications. Very disappointing.

I recently purchased a Charge 5. One of the reasons was for the oxygen saturation SpO2 feature. The description of this feature on Fitbit’s seemed to indicate that the SpO2 was an on demand function, like the ECG function is. In all the product listings and specs there was not a single mention that the SpO2 measurement was at all restricted.

charge 5 should have real-time sp02. it would seem fairly simple to do -- cheap pulse oximeters do it. it's helpful to see in real-time.

It's great to see Fitbit is really pretend to listen to people.  I have seen this request from years ago and todate, they still have not come up with the SPO2 on demand app.  a $40 unknown named watch has the heart rate and SPO2 app.  Personally I use it everyday, I have anxiety and I get into hyperventilation and I use it to check on the O2 level, but can't with fitbit. I'm a little disappointed.  it's a highly demanded feature.  not sure why they came out with a watch face to track O2 at sleep. please include a spo2 app please.

Hi Yojana,

Many Fitbit owners bought their Fitbit's with exactly this as the #1 need.
Yes, we need time, heart rate, but we can't exercise, walk, run with a
finger clip SPO2 reader. Our watches have the needed hardware built in,
and have for years. We need Fitbit to explain to us why they not only
refuse to provide real time SPO2 readings, but also explain why they won't
let 3rd party app developers provide them on our Fitbits.

I know, this email will get ignored, and most certainly not answered in any
viable form. I'll get at best a platitude, someone saying that they know
of the requests, and that this counts as another vote for them. And
nothing more. I remind you that other brands have been providing real time
SPO2 for a couple years now, sometimes on far less expensive watches. Now
I know that Fitbit and Google tend to be extremely secretive, but refusing
to answer this for a few years now is beyond lame. Many of us no longer
trust Fitbit, and next time we shell out a pile of money on a smart watch /
fitness tracker it will be anything BUT Fitbit.

Currently Spo2 measurement is recorded only during sleep and it's automatic.
Need on-demand Spo2 reading to know blood oxygen level instantly as and when required.

People have been begging for this for years. Why won't Fitbit tell us why
they are not implementing this?
