With Long-covid I need this sp02 feature activated whenever I need to check since the docs have no clue of when or why 02 levels fluctuate. This would help me know when to exercise, when to get oxygen. I ordered the Sense specifically for this feature.
I bought my Versa a few years ago because of my asthma, so I could check my O2 levels during my commute walking. Silly me. I also needed it to measure my sleep, but when it generally didn't work for that, was pushed to buy a Sense. Now I liked the Versa and like the Sense, but SPO2, long after other vendors (sometimes at a very low price to buy) allowed realtime O2 checks, nothing from Fitbit does. It truly baffles me. It has the hardware. Plus it can tell me if I have an arrhythmia. But they won't let me check SPO2 other than a mystery number and chart connected to my supposed sleep. It makes no sense. And Fitbit / Google won't tell us why.
And to anyone who says to get a finger clip, I have one. But it's not going on a commute, or a long walk anywhere.
This was requested almost two years ago.... Come on Fitbit. I've had it, I'm going to buy the Samsung Watch 5 next month when released and sell my sense on ebay. You guys need to listen to your customers.
I love that my Sense tracks my SpO2 and Temp at night, but it would be hugely beneficial if we could check them at any time like we can with heart rate, ekgs etc. Your competition offers these features.
Hi @gmcd11270, we wanted to let you know that the ideas you recently posted already exist on the Feature Suggestions Board. You can see them here where you can add your vote to those existing suggestions:
Please try to make sure you only post one idea per suggestion, so we can keep the board organized, easily searchable and see which idea other members are voting for. Thanks for participating in Feature Suggestions.
That is the Number 1 reason I got rid of my Sense and got a different watch. spO2 is an important part of working out and they just won't do it. It can't be that hard except for sapping the battery and if that was the trade-off I'd still have been happy.
So this was requested 2 years ago and Fitbit still refuse to add the ability for users to access data which is already being recorded.
Perhaps we need to take this higher and request we see what data is being recorded. It is our data and we have the right to see what is being collected.
The sense collects data autonomously such as skin temperature and sp02 levels, but we have extremely limited access to this.
Again, as I said before, either they don't have the actual sensors there (and therefor false advertising) or they release the data they are recording (right of access & right of data portability).
I'm now on oxygen 24/7. I have to carry an oximeter around with me so I can check my level and make adjustments to my output. I'd use an O2 on demand app several times a day. I've read the new Sense 2 has this feature. If true, can we get the app for the first model? I'd pay for it!
I read that too, but when I bought my first Fitbit I got a strong impression that we would soon have realtime SPO2. This time they seem to be strongly saying that without actually saying it. So I don't know what to think. I certainly don't trust their marketing any more.
In contrast, other brands, major and minor, do have realtime and have had it for a while.
The fact they very clearly do NOT state real time tracking will be there is pretty well guaranteed they do NOT track.
Otherwise they would state it clearly, since it is a selling point.
Standard marketing/sales. Keep it vague and hope buyers will jump to the wrong conclusions. Then if they complain you can argue you didn't actually say it would work that way.
If you didn't already buy the Sense 2, I'd look into something different. I did buy the apple watch 6 black Friday but then my iPhone took a crap and I got a cheaper Android for now so it's back to the crappy Fitbit until I can get a better watch or back to an iPhone. I've also noticed my versa isn't tracking sleep correct. Went to bed about 11 last night and it's telling me I didn't fall asleep until after 1 (know that's not true) and woke up at 4 (again not true). These things are so unreliable it's insane.
My daughter keeps urging me to get an Apple, but everything else we have is Android, so I'd have to switch *en masse!* I guess I'll wait to see if they do listen to their customers!
