I suggest you reinstate the Community Activity Groups.

For me it's clear. I never ever buy a Fitbit again. Unless they bring this function back.

How will I ever know if Clive N finished his walk through Spain?  Did he put on more steps than the fabulous Sharon A?  How are the other members (former members, I guess) of Fitbit Over 70!! doing?  I miss following their progress.

I still check in every few days ,hoping against hope, that my group will be there !!! Instead I get a laughable message that there is something better......do you "brains" at fitbit even use one ???? The new and improved is a joke !!!  Give us back our community activity groups ..... We deserve to get back what we had and used !!!

A few weeks later and we still don't have an explanation for why these groups were removed.  I think these community activity groups should be reinstated.  Another commenter had a great list of reasons, so I am going to borrow from them.

1. There are no pubic groups for my local area and there is no way to search the closed groups to find one that exists.  Even if I could find one, I would have to be invited to join.  The open groups are incredibly large and broad in nature; we need smaller, more specific groups that can be searched and joined by members.

2. The new closed groups do not replace the community groups. The only way to populate such a group is to be invited by someone. This doesn't work if you weren't friends with people in the group.

3. There are members here who do not have smart phones or tablets, or the ones they have are limited on data or too old. Some people only interact with the Fitbit community through their PCs and this should be supported.

4. Challenges (limited to 10 members) don't replace the community groups. Members of a business might have been in a company-sponsored competition. Now getting data for that competition is incredibly harder -- and people might not want to be "friends" with someone higher in the hierarchy in order for the person to create a closed group.

Please reinstate the community activity groups!!!

Groups is a really good idea, as it lets people create their own "group". Hard to believe a solid feature like this would be deleted and without any notice.

How about bringing it back?

I encourage everyone to check out the in-app Community, as well as the Lifestyle Discussion boards on this forum. While not exactly the same as the Activity Groups, these are great places to make friends and find motivation toward your goals.

Where did all the clubs joining go? I was part of groups in San Diego and I would see how many steps I could do in a month. I reached over 1 million in 1 month and it was amazing watching myself compete with 1000+ in that same group.  Why is that gone?

Hi @23RyDawg, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about joining clubs. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned.

Hi there! I would love it if you would create a feature for fitbit users to make communities (groups) that they can publicly share.

In encouraging people through my comments I have but put down a number of times through other peoples comments. I would like to create a group that is purely made up of people who are seeing to be positive and would who like to be surrounded by a positive community through fitbit. If you have any questions for me feel free to email me at morganbrinkleypetersen@gmail.com

Thanks in advance,

Morgan Petersen

Hi @Morgan0723, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about being able to make your own publicly viewed group. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here as it is not currently planned.
