Pixel Watch 2 does not show live, real time heart rate on my Pixel phone. According to my research, this is an issue for both Pixel Watches on any phone platform. It currently only shows a range.
Hi @furnjan. Thank you for your product feedback about displaying the real-time heart rate on the Fitbit app for your Pixel Watch 3 with us! We've found a similar request and merged yours with it. You can find it here. Please vote on the existing thread to help us track interest. To learn more about how Fitbit decides what product feedback is developed, visit our FAQs.
I would buy one of the new larger Pixel Watches except for the fact that no real-time heart rate is available when using the Fitbit app. I will be looking into other watches with similar features that have the real-time heart rate in a useful app. It is just plain stupid this feature is not available in a product of this value.
Yesterday I updated from Fitbit Sense 2 to my new Google Pixel Watch 3. Learning I no longer have real-time heart rate displayed on my new watch is extremely disappointing. This fact should be clearly stated in all Pixel Watch AD specifications. I use my Pixel watch and phone every day to exercise on stationary bike, treadmill, and elliptical trainer. My phone sits directly in front of me where I specifically need to watch my heart rate. I am 85 years old and there is some risk for me to continually release my left hand from the machine rails to view my Pixel watch for real-time heart rate.
I assume this is part of Pixel power management to lengthen battery charge. Please add an option in settings where the real-time heart rate can be displayed or not.
Jogger, Thank you for adding to the chorus of those who despair that Google will ever take some notice of the lack of real time heart rate on the Fitbit App when using any of the Google Watch series. I am nearly as old as jogger (80) and suffer in exactly the same way. I suspect it is fundamental to the Google Watch series design that it is unable to perform this action, which is available on all other watches, including Apple and Fitbit watches. I hope I amqwrong and that Google will do something about this!l
>From what I remember about some reverse engineering I saw, you are partially correct. The way I read your post is that you think the Google Watch's hardware design does not allow the functionality. The hardware should be okay to do what needs to be done. The problem is that the google watch doesn't send that information straight to the Fitbit app, it has to go through the Watch app. And for a company as big as Google, the right hand doesn't talk to the left hand, and we as the consumer are left carrying the bag.
All I know is that I won't be upgrading my watch until they either put Assistant back on Fitbit or get the heart rate streaming working on Google Watches.
I agree with you entirely! I will have another go at the Google support team when my new watch (4) arrives in October. I like the rest of the watch design enough to chance it!
