Do not remove Challenges & Adventures! A lot us use these features to motivate us and connect. My kids are able to connect and do challenges with their friends too.
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject
This is needed because:
I received an e-mail that fitbit will be sunsetting these features on March 27. I think this is a big mistake.
Since I got my Fitbit years ago I’ve been hoping for more challenges and adventures! Give us more variety not take it away altogether. The challenges with family are my main use for my Fitbit. My mom lives across the country and one way we are able to stay connected is using our Fitbit challenges.
What a disappointment. I really enjoyed the workweek hustle and weekend warrior. I can't imagine why you would take these away.
It can't be that much trouble to keep them working. I have a Fitbit Charge HR that I've kept going for ten years. I've replaced the housing and even soldered a new battery into it during lockdown when I was bored. I was thinking about buying a new tracker, even looked at the $$$ smartwatches.... but forget it if Fitbit is going to randomly take away features.
I received your email today regarding the changes to Fitbit features. If, as the email implies, the challenge features are being eliminated, I will no longer be sporting a Fitbit on my wrist. You will have lost another user to Apple.
I really enjoyed the challenges. I used them to compete with my distant friends and keep an eye on my senior mother. Without the challenges, I'll just buy some cheap $20 off brand step counter from aliexpress. I was going to buy a new Fitbit this weekend. Boy would I have
Yep... keep the challenges. It's literally the only thing keeping me from going to a $20 tracker from Aliexpress. I have a 10 year old charge HR... was going to replace it. But not now
Please keep the challenges feature, it’s the reason why I have been a devoted user of Fitbit products for several years. I have met many friends and enjoy the competition which Is always friendly. If it’s discontinued I will no longer have any reason to purchase another Fitbit product.
Challenges were not the original reason i joined fitbit but have quickly become the reason i have stayed. In the groups i have met some wonderful friends that i love doing challenges with. Please dont take that away from us and all the wonderful people who love them. If challenges go so do i.
The Challenges and races I do with friends is the main reason I have stayed with the fitbit tracker. When these go, my next tracker will most likely not be a fitbit. I think they should be adding to the free challenges and races rather than sunsetting them. I few new badges would also be fun.
Challenges and friends (groups) are why we have stayed with your products all this while, bought tracker after tracker and smartwatch after smartwatch when they have gone bad. If FitBit takes away these hallmark features, we can only understand it to mean you no longer need our business. It's been a good run (no pun intended), but whether it continues is up to FitBit/Google.
The only reason I still have a Fitbit and have not switched over to an Apple Watch is because of the Challenges. This will be my last Fitbit if you really do end up eliminating the Challenges feature next month. This is very disappointing. Had I known this was happening, I would not have bought a new Fitbit a few months ago.
Do not remove the adventures. In fact, I've been wishing for a long time that you would add many more adventures. I can't imagine why a feature like adventures has not been expanded, much less removing it. It is my primary reason for continuing to use my Fitbit. If adventures go away HR and sleep aren't enough to keep the Fitbit for. Fun gone.
Fitbit’s greatest selling feature is the app that provides this community of support! It would be incredibly damaging to so many AND to business up remove these features! I will not repurchase a Fitbit if this goes through! I love my Fitbit but only because it connects me to hundreds who are encouraging me toward my goals!
I wonder whether Fitbit really wants its legacy to be:
“In 2023, Fitbit abandoned the group challenges feature, which, over the course of only a few years, resulted in a dramatically increased diabetes diagnosis rate of 78% amongst former Fitbit users, primarily those who used the group challenges feature. Health and Medical Advocates and Researchers at NIH and the CDC attribute this direct cause and effect relationship to the sudden loss and absence of the socio-emotional, peer-fueled support of a once-unhealthy/now-heathy solid, long-standing, health and wellness regime, one that took years to build over layers of unhealthy habits and resisted temptations. Research has shown that instant removal of the integrity and foundation of the working support system without a viable, affordable, and realistic replacement ready in place, will most likely yield confusion, denial, anger, resignation, and finally, failure.”
Fitbit: please don’t give us diabetes. Let us keep our group challenges feature.
Thanks. -Loyal user since 2015 & down 50lbs and pre-pre-diabetes (thanks to the group challenge feature)
That’s the Purpose of FitBit to Challenge yourself and others to do just a little bit more everyday! If you remove groups and challenges…,what’s the point?!
It so disappointing to read Fitbit is getting rid of challenges. Challenges are the only reason why I bought a Fitbit instead of Apple Watch. With challenges, I’m able to connect with friends and motivated each other. I’ve even met new people through challenges. My Fitbit is on its way out. If challenges are removed, I’ll buy an Apple Watch instead
It’s true so many of us love the challenges and the opportunity to share in our journey with one another. It is really sad to know that this company would destroy the best part this. It looks like you will be losing a lot of your faithful customers. We hope you will rethink this.
Challenges are the reason I use Fitbit and Get fit Bingo was the only reason I subscribed to Premium. If challenges go, I won't have a reason to buy another Fitbit once my current watch dies and I'll switch to another brand. What a shame for a company to get rid of its best selling point. Hopefully some other manufacturer will start offering this feature - I guess see you all there!
