What happened to "Canada" as being pending on this list of countries for the ECG app? Now it has been totally removed. Are there still plans to bring the ECG app to Canada (& if yes, when)?
I am really glad to hear it. I know how frustrating these things can be. If you just do one little thing out of order or miss a small step it wont work. Also I'm not that great at writing directions.
The FitBit ECG app is now listed under Health Canada’s active license listing as of December 24, 2020. You can look it up on the Health Canada website. Does anyone know if this means the ECG app is close to being released in Canada?
I purchased the Sense particularly for the ECG app since I do have AFIB. I was disappointed to learn that it has not yet been approved in Canada. Kardio has their ECG app approved in Canada. I would like there to be a big "heads up" notification on the dashboard or somewhere to let me know when it is approved in Canada so that I can download it immediately.
I feel like this ecg thing for Canada is gonna be unavailable and as crap as the "long list" of approved banks for fitbit pay. Might just go back with samsung... connecting my Google assistant doesn't even work either.
I have been a faithful Fitbit user for a few years now. From the charge to the charge 3 and now the sense. I purchased the sense for my 65 year old mother with AFIB to get a better accurate reading on her heart rate and alert us. I did not realize when I invested close to 400 dollars for this watch that the Ecg app was not available in Canada. I’m really hoping you decide to add Canada to your app content otherwise I should have just forked out the extra and got her an Apple Watch.
ECG still not available in Canada. It's like being charged for a steak dinner but not getting the steak part. Maybe you shout be charging less when you don't deliver the full deal. Factoring in exchange rates, the Canadian price is actually about $10 more while offering less. That doesn't make Sense. How about extending the free Premium trial to bridge the gap a bit. Best solution might be to offer refunds. I would gladly send my watch back. My fault for not reading the fine print.
if you search in google or in the fitbit community there are some instructions to enable the ECG. I live in New Westminster BC, I followed the instructions and my sense is working with no issues.
Follow my posts in this program and you should be able to get it to work in Canada. After a few minutes of work I was able to get the ECG feature to work in Canada.
The app is on my watch, however, it’s stuck in some weird loop where when I open it, it tells me to go to the discovery section on my watch. I do that, watch the video on how to use it, then when I go to use it on my watch, it redirects me to the discover section on my phone app...
There should be no need to reset the watch and re-install the software. You have to accept some kind of form inside the ECG app on your phone, not the Sense.
I remember having to do that before the ECG app in the Sense was fully activated for use. I can't remember all the steps and forms I had to go through, but the app on your phone should guide you as to what you need to do.
Maybe there's some help in the Fitbit site and/or someone from Fitbit can reply back here to this forum with all the details.
I'm in the USA and the first time I ran this app, I needed to go to the discovery section, assessment, and be in the heart rate assessment before I was able to use the ECG on the Sense.
After the first time running the ECG app, I don't even need to have the phone nearby.
