Edit Time of Daily Reset of Stats / Add Nightshift

Hi, It would be great if users could change the daily reset of stats to a different hour. We night owls who go sleep late after midnight now have to calculate the differences in our heads and that's not ideal. Thanks!

Wow! My son worked really hard to buy me this for Christmas. He was so proud of himself and now I have to tell him the device is useless to me because I work night shift? AND to top it off the issue isn't new! Wow! So who's office do we need to send Linda Lovelace to to get this simple fix, well, FIXED?

I work 3rd shift as well and this is highly irritating. I'm not chaning my time zone, won't the watch time be off then? There are over 600 votes for this, it seems as though there would be a solution. If not, I can forsee quite a few fitbits being returned in the future.

While it could be nice to be able to reset data at a time other than Midnight, it might not be feasible for fitbit to implement.

I'm not sure what you mean by useless, everybody has a 24 hour day, yours is just shifted.

BTW twice a week I start work at 3 pm and finish as late as 6:30 am.. If I'm curious as to how many steps I took, I simply put the tracker into walk mode with the GPS turned off.

I would like to be able to set my own time of when to track my steps. I work midnights and I know many other people do too! I don't understand why this can't be accommodated! Please fix

Chiming in to voice how needed this is. I'm a 3rd shifter. So I go to bed about 6am and get up at 2. Because of this I'm really not able to use my fitbit for stats because everything I do is split across 2 days and never accurate. I'm a little shocked this hasn't already been addressed already. About 1/4 of US workers are 2nd and 3rd shifters who's day extends well past midnight.

Please please start working on this. I got the new Charge 2 and for now its mostly a glorified heart rate monitor. :<

Please update it so that users can choose when their day ends, so we can properly track our diet, steps, and exercise.

I'm bringing this up again because it is a feature that needs to be implemented, and is frankly upsetting that it has been ignored for so long. About 1/4 of Americans work 2nd or 3rd shift and/or extend their days well past midnight. Fitbit's locked reset at midnight screw over all of these people by ending our days when they shouldn't be.

This was brought up before and got over 600 upvotes. Its clear there's no shortage of demand for this. Please stop ignoring 3rd shift users and make it so we can use our fitbits properly like 1st shifters.

I'm sorry that you feel Fitbit is ignoring two of its millions of customers. @Desolate1.

It generally is considered polite to do a search for a suggestion before posting, and I find 8 requests for this fearure.

Only one of them is worth voting for, the others will simply distribute the votes making this feature less likely to happen.

There needs to be an option to set when the tracker is reset instead of just at midnight. People that work overnight shifts cannot get a fair calculation for their "normal" day.

I really wish I could reset my Fitbit on my own, or even reset it at a certain time each day. I start work at 6:45 pm so when it switches over to a new day at 12, that's only half my day! I'd like to be able to see all of my steps for the day.

Hi there. 3rd shift Paramedic here. Just got the Fitbit Charge 2 for Christmas, and while setting it up, I quickly realized the app doesn't allow for setting movement reminders, etc. for those living a 3rd shift life. A quick Google search brought me to this forum where I see many other people have the same problem. I work 17:00-05:00, thus my activity is broken over two different days. It would be great if Fitbit would allow for an option to set when our own personal day begins and ends, thus allowing for more accurate measurements and the ability to set movement reminders, alarms, etc. I do not want to change my time zone to align with the hours of my work day because that would make the clock fuction worthless. Thanks for taking this into consideration. I really hope to see an update to this feature in the very near future.

Being able to change when your FitBit resets seems like it should have been one of the first additions. Many people, including myself are active past midnight due to work or other circumstances. Instead of having to change time zones that messes with every alarm and notification we have set up, please let us just change when the FitBit resets.

I too would love to set that function change, but I see this forum goes back quite a ways. ;(

I got a fitbit for Christmas & one thing that bugged me very early on is that the stats reset at midnight, and I regularly stay awake past this time. There's so many people asking for this feature that it makes me worried that Fitbit don't care about user suggestions?

I would also like to see Reset time with ability to choose reset time and not be forced to have tracker reset at midnight or change time zone so that i do not have the correct time shown on tracker. My wife is a nurse and her day starts at 9pm, so her tracker can never get her daily stats correct.

It would be really awesome if there was a night shift setting. I work 2nd/3rd shift (4pm-3am) so my sleep logs are always messed up and all my calories are split into separate days.

It would be awesome if I accurately track everything instead of it being split.

it would be nice if we could customize the time when it reset.

I wanted to love my Fitbit, but with the majority of my activity being 8pm-6am I really can't use a lot of the features I'm interested in. Disappointed.

The shift I currently work is Four months on days (0730-1930) then Four months on nights (1930-0730) I would love to be able to change when it resets becasue while on nights everything I eat, water intake, excersise, and steps is completley in accurate. I would like to be able to always have correct track of this and not for four months have my Fitbit pretty much useless.

It really would!

I agree, I like getting green in everything but with the hourly activity set for daytime (as I am in day mode more than night mode) I feel I lose out  when working nightshift.

have tried changing settings of when hourly activity is tracked from but that changes every entry I've made which doesn't help 😔

I agree. It's a pain. Like for me my dinner is my biggest meal, eaten after work at 330am and if I put that in there goes half my calories for the day and my actual day doesn't begin til around noon. All my steps are split into 2 days so that usually a good 80% of steps are completed before my day even begins. And changing settings changes all the previous data so my dashboard is a mess of too many or too few calories, too much or too little water and a ridiculous high step count for a "normal" day. It's disheartening

I agree I work 12 hour full time nights!! I would like the ability to set my 250 steps/hour other than during day light hours!! My sleep is during the day while Im working.

Totally second this.

I work 12 hour over night shifts and am awake from 4pm to 8am.  I find it frustrating that I cannot adjust my 250 steps/hour to this time frame.  I've adjusted it to 4pm to 11pm since on my off days, these are hours I am awake.

I wish we could adjust goals and other features to fit our schedules.  (Just liek we can chose alarms tailored for certain days)

Please can you add the option to change your reset time as midnight doesn't fit my lifestyle.

Thanks

Currently adding things such as meals and water is a bit difficult if you work overnight like i do, changing the time im awake to actually be over the course of two days. It's a bit harder for me to accurately log my meals because i dont eat them all in the same day, meaning my dinner winds up logging on the next day, so i have to log it as breakfast.
