Fitbit Journal - Notes on the Fitbit app

How about a space in the app for a daily note. I would like to be able to leave a note on the daily results page. So that if results are high or low I would know why when looking back. IE: was I sick so my daily results were very low or were they extra good and for what reason? In sure folks would have lots of reasons to look back at results and would want to know what was what at that time. Ted

Hi... love fitbit, would be even better if dashboard had a space for freeform notes to help users track events (eg, illness, meds used, overall wellbeing, menstrual cycle, etc.) that might be associated with variables that fitbit tracks. Would be so easy... a simple text entry box would suffice. Thank you!

It would be nice to add a box so we could add a comment about each day. As a diabetic, I would like to be able to add my glucose numbers and time of the test to each day as a reference point, others could add if they ran in a race or was with a friend for a walk and so on.

I am a disabled person trying like heck to be normal: exercising, eating right, walking drinking water, etc. All of these things make me feel better and will help me live a more fulfilling and normal life especially because I also fight depression, especially when I have a very high pain day. These "off" days look horrible on my dashboard and I would love to include either a short note or a longer blog to explain my day. Was it a high pain day, a depression day, doctor appointments, etc. showing why my day looked the way it did. It withhold also really help narrate to my doctors how my exercise is coming along and why certain days look as they do. Others might find this helpful for their own personal reasons. Thank you for your consideration! Julie

I completely agree! I wrote a similar post saying that a notes section would be beneficial. This is the same sort of idea. I think it's really important to be able to look back on your data and understand "why did I only have 1,000 steps that day" or "why did I only exercise for 10 minites" and thousands of other personal reasons!

This is a great idea and one i was thinking myself ... I too have high pain days or "exhaustion" days  which brings on depression , so this feature would be so useful . It would allow us to remember why we didnt achieve our goals and not feel so bad about them .

I've been pretty sick for over a week, and it's depressing to see my FitBit stats plunge. I know why I have barely been moving, but my FitBit/FitBit friends don't. It would be nice to be able to log health every day. IE sick, tired, feeling great, etc.

I have searched a place to add notes to my sleep data. Such as listing changes in the medications that could affect my sleep patterns.

I would like an area for notes so I can enter the name of the workout video I did, how I felt, etc.

I am an insomniac and the sleep log feature has been enlightening to say the least.  I now want to take it a step further and turn it into a sleep diary to help me improve my sleeping patterns for the future but there is no way of adding notes.  This would be a REALLY useful feature to all us troubled sleepers (stats show that 1/3 of the population has a sleep problem in some form).  I can keep a separate diary to log things, EG whether I took a particular drug combo (sleeping tablets and the like), the temperature in the room, if RLS was bad, what I did before trying to sleep etc but it would make so much sense to be able to log this all in the sleep module.  The data would be enormously useful to doctors who are tasked with investigating these conditions.  Anyone with a sleep issue knows how frustrating this can be and how hard it is to fix it.  So if this can help anyone with their research into sleep conditions then I'm all for it.

The ability to add notes would be great to keep track of weight training. What exercises I did, when I am increasing my weights, reps/sets, etc. I currently use the notes app on my phone and would love to have everything in one place!

This would be excellent for me too - I'd love to be able to rename runs based on where I went running. A tag system would be ridiculously awesome too but that might be getting ambitious. 😄

Hi,
I use the Fitbit Android app and I think it would be very nice to see a spot to place notes or actual times of eating verses just breakfast, lunch, or dinner like in the computer version (It would be great for Ipod users too). This way when someone has a busy day he or she can refer back to the app to see the last time they ate instead of just relying on alarms set on the Fitbit itself or other devices. Sometimes technology can fail you and you miss your eating time as well. Thanks!!

Could you add a note box for workouts. Since the list is set. It is set for run or workout. Could you have a note about details. Such as, Run on treadmill, or neighborhood. I would find that helpful. Thank you!!!!!

Why has this been 'solved'? For one the journal feature doesn't work. It givces a 404 error. Did Fitbit get rid of the journal feature? I would like to have a place to track what I've tried to help sleep better.

We have started to have wellness checks  at work each 6 months , an area to make notes would be really welcome

I learned my metabolic rate , my visceral fat , my total muscle mass and total  water %, and my lung capacity , cholesterol BP ect.My fit bit is motivating me to tackle the horrible truth.

I would love to have a option with works outs or more so running/ biking workouts with the gps of surge to add notes.. Sometimes you feel like you did great or you pushed a stroller . Anything there is no option to put " hey you rocked it" a little option for boys would be fantastic

I love my Fitbit Alta. I don't think if necessarily tracks all the steps I take, but the prime reason I got it was for the sleep mode. I would love if there was an option to add notes. I am working with my doc on getting a good nights sleep and trying medications - then days off, etc. It would be much appreciated to have all the data in one place. Thanks!

Please add the ability to include notes for each meal. It would be extremely helpful. I.e. Ate four cookies as the kids were screaming

I'd like a comment section added so I can record the temperature, food issues and so forth with my runs. Seems like a simple thing that apparently used to exist. How about adding it back? If not, why not?

I just sent out a tweet about this and got a response that they took that option away. Now I see all these comments requesting it. How do we convince developers we really want it back?

I would love to be able to add notes about sleep.  I typically try for 8 but various things interfere.  I would like to be able to make a note of them....

I would love to be able to add a short note to some activities.
