Requested more then two years ago to add support for Bank of Novascotia o(Scotiabank) n fitbit pay and nothing is done. Looks like Fitbit don't care about Canadian customers.
Bought the Charge 3 Special Edition hoping to use fitbit pay. Didn't realize fitbit pay doesn't support Scotiabank so hoping that it will someday soon.
There are very few banks available to use with fitbit pay. It would not only be great to have scotiabank added but banks like TD Canada trust, and BMO would be sensible.
Without Scotia Visa or American Express for the wallet the next time I upgrade or replace my fitbit it will be probably be to a competing product that already includes Scotiabank on their equipment (Samsung and Apple come to mind).
Hello FitBit! Three years went by since the first request to add Scotiabank to Fitbit pay was made. There are seven pages of FitBit users' posts in this thread and still not even a single update from your tech team on where things are at in terms of making this request a reality. Is there a magic number something like 100000 requests before you do something about this?
Common Canadian banks like Royal Bank, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), ScotiaBank, and the Bank of Montreal (BMO) need to be added to the Fitbit wallet. The Canadian "Banks" in the list are all either insurance companies like Manulife or Credit Card companies for Visa and MasterCard. They are not common banks.
Hi @Grant501, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to see the Bank of Novia Scotia (Scotiabank) on the list of banks of Fitbit Pay. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Under Consideration". You can also check these other suggestions:
I someone from fitbit actually reading this now? I posted 3 x already. I posted this over 2 years ago. Repost with some updates.
FITBIT: Canada only has 5 major banks, and adding them would cover probably 80% of the population! We've got: Scotiabank (Bank of Nova Scotia), Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada (CIBC), Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Toronto-Dominion (TD)
You have added RBC, "Brim Financial", and ATB. So only one useful one. ATB isn't a bank, and it's regional (only in Alberta), so most Canadians can't use it. I had to google Brim Financial as I'd never even heard of it, and what I read made me turn around and run away. You should probably drop them. UPDATE: You also have Stack, which no one here has ever heard of, seems to be another fly by night operation; Manulife (maybe a couple of people use) and US Bank? That's corporate, not personal, so useless.
I considered getting a card from RBC, because... If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! But even so, why should I be forced to get another CC, which affects my credit rating, and adds an extra monthly bill to remember to pay on time, so also more work for me?
When we ... see all the US banks and trusts (99 listed to-date! UPDATE, it's now over 200), it's like you're telling us in Canada that we're not worth the time and effort to bother adding 4 more banks, all among the world's top 100. Put someone onto this for a few days, add these banks, and show Canada that you don't consider us second-rate. We paid for the extra feature, and you're not holding up your end of the deal.
Yes please, please add Scotiabank to Fitbit Pay - customers have been asking for this for 3 years!! I just switched from Apple Watch back to Fitbit - please don't force me to switch back again. I miss the Fitbit battery life.
Please add Scotiabank to Fitbit pay! Been a Fitbit fan for years but this is a HUGE oversight. This is one of the largest banks in Canada, and adding this along with TD, and CIBC would cover most of the population. Super important feature getting my new Sense, and considering returning it because this is missing!
