Friends Daily/Weekly Step Count on App and graph

I think a welcomed addition to the friends profile across all apps would be the ability to see a friend's daily step count.  This would be useful when "chasing" a friend down.  Smiley Happy

Other user data such as, distance, active minutes, pictures and other information that person has set to share with friends would be nice as well.

Idealy the user would be able to slide through previous days like you can on your personal dashboard view

D love to see my friends daily summary instead of Only 7 day summary.  Maybe a toggle option between 1 day and 7 days.

Looks like a boat load of people have been requesting the ability to view friends' daily steps since 2014 but FitBit must not be listening.  I would like to know why FitBit hasn't made this an available feature yet?

I would love to be able to see my friends daily step count rather than their total or average. It would be really great.

I sent an email to tech support asking if this would be a possibility, I was pointed here and to vote for it as a suggestion. Seeing it has literally been here for years and no change is so disappointing! Seeing where my friends are at or if they are ahead of me during the day is such a good motivation! I don't understand why this hasn't happened yet!

For Android app tech support the email is

android@fitbit.com not sure of iOS but I think it will get the message across!

come on Fitbit...  The entire point of having friends on here in the first place is to see what they're up to, compete, and compare.  You simply CANNOT do that with a seven day average.

This is a very easy modification people are asking for on here, and it has been five years since the request was first made.  Can we get some sort of response on this?

I would like to see my friends daily progress versus a 7 day running total. Also I cannot see any progress of my friends on the mobile app. If I need to check to see if they are "catching" me I need to go log on to a PC. That's CRAZY. We all have our phones with us but not always in front of our Laptops.

I didn't understand the " Feature Suggestions and Feedback Policy" at all - but I was directed here by a moderator so guess it is okay to add a comment.  I am amazed that this request was made over 4 years ago and Fitbit has not actioned it.  The only reason my friend and I purchased Fitbits was so that we could see what each other was doing at any stage, and encourage each other with motivation (unsolicited).  So very disappointed.  Come on Fitbit - listen to your customers!

Yes please add a visible daily step feature!! I think it would be great if people could pick and share whatever information is on their personal dashboard: daily steps, active minutes, floors, etc...... with the ability to change it from public to private if desired. Weight is currently an option to share publicly, I’d rather know people’s daily step count rather than their weight.

I completely agree. Whereas I might be glad to share my activities and steps with a new gym buddy, to share my weight would involve an NDA and a pinky swear of silence, at the very least.

My husband and I just got fitbits to motivate each other to be more active. How in the world is it nearly 2019 and Fitbit has not made it possible to view friends’ or *all* family members’ last synched dashboards on mobile?! We want to check up on and cheer on each others’ steps and activity throughout the day!  It’s ludicrous that this isn’t possible. I don’t ever plan to log in to the main website unless I absolutely have to in order to change a certain setting or something else that’s “one-off”. I should be able to do everything on mobile. Hello, on-the-go lifestyle centered product. Update, please. Or else I hope a competitor does. Maybe they already do? I need to go check, apparently.

I couldn't agree with you more. The website is so far behind where it should be it almost makes me want to try someone else. This is not rocket science. If you look at all the community comments you can see FITBIT does not care nor even responds to our requests/suggestions.

Hi. It’s January 2019 and it seems like the suggestion to allow app users to be able to view their “friends’” daily steps has not yet made an appearance. I’m not sure how I can cheer my parents on (from afar) for their daily progress without this feature. Would you kindly add this — even if users need to check a box in their settings to allow users to view this information?  😊. Thank you!

Oh I wish this was possible. Fitbit has been out for a long time. Oh please!

I again contacted customer service.  They have never heard of this request.  I had to send them the link to this thread after they suggested that I put in an enhancement request and I told them there was already one.  I don't understand how they have enough time and resources to track fertility but they can't figure out how to show a daily step.  This is an important feature for monitoring older users, if they are not getting any steps we know to immediately contact them.  Obviously, all the company management must be under the age of 50.  Even apple watch will tell people if you fall, but we can't get a step count.

This has been requested for 5 YEARS!  Why has no one done anything about this?  Does FitBit not care at all what customers want?  They just move our request to this forum so no one does anything? Can a Moderator do more than "review" the issue? This has to be a feasible thing that is somewhat easy to implement.  PLEASE help US!  It will make all the difference to see our friends steps without having to do a challenge every single day!  MarcelFitbit HeydyFitbit AlvaroFitbit

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. We're always striving to enhance Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. We do not currently have plans to release this feature. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. For now, we will leave this suggestion open for votes (and closed to comments) so that we can continue to track community demand over time. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us and we will let you know if anything changes.

Seems to have been a request that has been ignored for years.  Please make available the option to show group members daily steps in the group.

Recently the ability to see friends daily step count was removed from the web application dashboard.  You use to be able to select "Fitbit is more fun with friends" and see each friends daily step count for 30 days.  This allowed us to have challenges among our group to motivate each other.  This was removed in the past couple of days and makes it impossible to motivate the group.  The available challenges under "discover" are not sufficient for month long challenges or for a 4 day period set by the group.  Please help....

YES!  Please do!  I use these graphs for challenges and virtual races with a group of friends.
