Friends Daily/Weekly Step Count on App and graph

I think a welcomed addition to the friends profile across all apps would be the ability to see a friend's daily step count.  This would be useful when "chasing" a friend down.  Smiley Happy

Other user data such as, distance, active minutes, pictures and other information that person has set to share with friends would be nice as well.

Idealy the user would be able to slide through previous days like you can on your personal dashboard view

You are wrong.  It does NOT work on the apps.  (Computer - yes.)  You get a 7-day total.  On the Galaxy, it shows Badges, Trophies, and Friends.  I, by the way, like convenient.  I paid for my Fitbit and have the right to like convenient or to make suggestions.  I was told that Fitbit reads these and might make the update for it.  I'm not asking for this for me.  My sister would like to just see how many steps I've already done today without going on the web every time as she has the app and the app does not allow it.  You do not have to be concerned but thank you for trying to point that out.

It works on any browser that can display Flash, that is why i stated it is not as convenient. It has been this way for the 5 years i have had a fitbit account . I see that you did not attack @JerriAnn for the same suggestion.

Yes Fitbit developers do read these,  they also look at the votes to see what is popular, and tend to act apon  those with more votes than 9, for votes are a good sign of popularity.

So lets hope this thread gets advertised and tye votes come in.

I apoligize but I like convenient and quick.  That is all.  The software to accomplish it can be done.  As I said, this is for my sister who will never click all over the place to get the steps.  Just because it seems to be no problem for some doesn't apply to all. This was not intended to be a bother or concern for anyone but just a suggestion for Fitbit to perhaps add that touch in an update.  Just a quick look on the app to see how she or I was coming along today was the total idea.  If they don't add it, fine.  I didn't mean to start a huge debate about it.

Could someone please tell me why I want the badges and trophies?

Hi

I would also like to see daily steps without going to a computer.

Like OP it's not the end of the world and I know I can go to a computer but I use the apps and it would be cool to see daily totals.

If it comes a thing, user should be able to choose whether or not they want their friends to see this information.

Would be great for daily friends step count. The whole point for us is to get our thirteen year old autistic daughter to exercise and lose weight as she has been stealing food comfort. Is working well but as both my wife and I have active jobs and do  9k to 15k steps daily minimum, there is no goal for her to see as ours remain high all the time. For children, goals mean so much, but a week is too much to grasp . The apps are to help 'normal' people, not just ultra sporty ones. Everything else is a good fit, but maybe have something aimed at the younger generation as goals are smaller for them, but the tech reaches all generations.  Keeps up the good work. From the fat bloke who is having to give getting fit a go to help his kids........

I am new to fitbit. I had a Jawbone and I LOVED it. But the friend I challenge myself with was switching so I did too. However I hate that you can't see your friends daily activity and if they exercise unless you are in a daily or weekly comp. we like to do a long running comp for 8 weeks during the work week and the only way we can actually tell now is if we provied the info to each other. I liked being about to see and know when she excercised and how she was doing step wise every day it helped motivate me!

Although hundreds of people have said this they have yet to address it ? Doesn't make much sense?

Yea I just did a chat session to ask about this and posting my suggestion was the only suggestion that they might make updates based on our suggestions.  considering how many people and how many years this has been going on I would say they really are never going to do it.  It is very dissapointing.  I can't imaging it would be that difficult to add daily steps and activity.  I wish I hadn't changed from Jawbone to Fitbit. It cost more and it isn't as good. 😞

Agreed And I think it may even give you more steps than you should get LOL there is an app called Stridekick and you can get your friends to join that then you can see daily steps you just have to open the app so it will sync with your fit bit you can actually see people with different trackers as well

Totally agree, what's the point if you don't have accountability daily? I need a way to check in each day and be pushed.

Due to this issue I'm going back to Jawbone as it doesn't appear that Fitbit is concerned about this. Sad because I love their tracker.  I'll no doubt sell it. Friends ongoing daily steps keeps me motivated. Customer lost and I'll be sure to pass this info on to anyone should they ask me about best trackers.

I started this topic and I've contacted Fitbit about this several times.  The latest reply is below.  I just got around to posting it on the ideas board.  Can we expect some action to fulfill our requests?

 Thank you for your feedback.

Is anyone at the fitbit company reading these? Does anyone at the fitbit company care? We, your fitbit community, feel ignored.

Sad fitbit company, sad indeed.

I agree! People have been suggesting this since 2014, which means our voices really aren't being heard! Let's just do it! I would love to be able to see the DAILY steps of my friends! Way better than lifetime steps. Makes a lot more sense! Will push you to do better if you can see daily steps! Come on Fitbit, you encourage us to speak and suggest yet nothing is done. I don't understand that.

I also feel like I've taken a step backwards!  I had the Jawbone and loved the fact that the app allowed me to see my friends throughout the day.  It is such a motivator to compete to see who can get the most steps in one day.  C'mon Fitbit!  This is a must have!  It Jawbone can program their app with this feature you can too!!!

I agree I don't need 7 day steps. I want it to be each day. Please!

How have they not added this yet.. do they simply not care about
user/consumer requests???

I second this idea. Having competitions with friends is useless if you can't see daily step count.

Why the hell is this not a thing yet?
