Get rid of Adobe Flash Player from the website

Please rewite the Dashboard and Log on the web site using non-Flash technology, preferably HTML5.

Flash is too much of a resource hog on desktops and doesn't run on iOS devices.

Thanks.

Replace these Flash graphs with HTML 5 graphs. In the user/friends profiles, please use HTML 5 based graphs so that these can be viewed on iOS devices.

The fitness tracking products that have the most useful product software apps will survive.  Period.  Let's see who comes out on top.  Having flash as a requirement for premium package at $49/yr for example, makes me want to look at other devices that are better supported.  Don't get me wrong, I like the possibilities from 3rd party developers with Fitbit, but to have to go to the web to look at my dashboard is ridiculous.  Just saying.

Agreed. Would like to be able to view the dashboard properly from my iPad. Flash is just junk.

This has been done already. I've been able to see the website from both my iPhone and my iPad since the beginning of the year!

Yes please. Flash is dead tech and only shows contempt for mobile users. Please get rid of it.

Agree. Flash is an abomination, constantly being upgraded because of bugs. Switch to HTML5 ASAP.

And whilst we're at it, upgrade all the remaining vestages of the old dashboard and interface please. It looks awful.

Yes, get rid of Flash from the friend details page and anywhere else it's still required.

I use Linux, and Adobe Flash support was discontinued after version 11. Please get rid of Flash completely. Till the time you finish the upgrade, please ensure backwards compatibility with version 11.2.202.451 of Flash.

YES!!!  Please-please-please-PLEASE get rid of Flash, it's a dying technology, and HTML5 is really easy and a true/well-supported standard now.

I'm using Chrome mobile for just about everything, but had to install and use a different browser JUST to see the chart of steps, as shown here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/14325i1D6DC59C73F83BF7/image-size/original...

Flash is a serious SECURITY RISK, as pointed out recently by security correspondent Brian Krebs: A month without Adobe Flash Player. I have taken his advice and disabled it on my browsers, which makes the Fitbit dashboard almost useless. Other security specialists have been advising users to avoid Flash, and websites to not use it. Perhaps its time for Fitbit to move into the Third Millennium.

The really frustrating thing about this, is that the Dashboard/new tiles/etc are NOT using Flash and yet are much more involved and dynamic, in terms of animations and other advanced UI features.  Those couple of little charts on the profile page that are still using Flash are ridiculously simple to implement in HTML5/CSS, comparatively speaking.  (I know what I'm talking about, I've been developing software for 30+ years.)

They (the Fitbit web product/business development team) should really get their priorities straight; this is a MAJOR annoyance -- and for no (apparent) good reason! Smiley Mad

PLEASE do this! I am going to have to quit premium soon because I don't see the point if I can't use the functions on Chrome. PLEASE!

I deliberately dumped Flash off my system and will no longer recommend Flash sites on my community online.

C'mon Fitbit. Dump Flash and use HTML 5.

Just noticed that this suggestion was originally posted A YEAR AND A HALF ago, and the status is still 'Reviewed' and not even 'Under consideration'... They really DON'T seem to care about this issue at all. 😞

I found an alternate site that works great and doesn't use flash.

Oops, I thought I was responding to a similar thread in the speed est.net forum, where the alternative is speedof.me. The alternative for Fitbit is the new look or smart phone apps.
