Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

Please add this feature. A simple buzz alert could be set by the user for their desired heart rate. Perhaps the default being if heart rate is greAter than or equal to the maximum heart rate for age. In people who suffer from arrhythmia switch high or low heart rates they could set the notification to buzz when heart rate is over a certain amount e.g. 140 which may occur spontaneously at rest in atrial fibrillation or svt or below 40 which could occur in a bradycardia. It would be a fantastic feature providing only guidance to consider seeking medical attention for some personnel while for others e.g. Fitness fanatics it could demonstrate that they are reaching their he goals. Any word on if Fitbit is responding to this request? I bought the Blaze because I thought max HR notification would surely have been an included feature. My bad for not checking first but come on! I know there are people like me who DID do their homework and didn't buy a blaze.

Hi can you add a vibrate alert for maximum hr, mine is 140 so a vibrate alert that individual could set would be great, I have cardio_myopathy so knowing I've exceeded my max safe rate would be fantastic.

and I am not so young anymore, so I would also appreciate being able to set a maximum HR alarm.

All i would need is a vibration to let me know that i've gone over a preset heart rate and a double vibration to let me know if i've gone back below that number.  Long vibrations, or whatever other distinct function, could be used to let you know the device has lost sync with your heart rate for more than, say, 10 seconds.

Please please please add a notification that can tell me when my heart rate reaches a certain level! Just the little vibration thing would work. Thank you for considering this! It is very important to me. So much do, that although I have bought multiple fit bits, I would swap to another brand if they offered this feature.

Definitely would like a heart rate zone alarm both low and high to keep workout in target range

For zone training and optimum cardiovascular improvement a silent heart rate alarm would be so useful for workouts and for patients with any kind of cardiac conditions.

The App graph of my HR shows a couple of significant peaks (on various days) - if they are real, then I should probably have stopped exercising and/or taken a pulse check.  What would be great would be a real time alert that flashes/vibrates when I hit a pre-set level (default @ 100% perhaps). Surpises me that this suggestion/comment kicked off nearly 18 months ago .... is it really that difficult to implement?  If the functionality is there already, then please point it out to me. Thanks.

@Fitbit You obvious have no respect for your customers, 18 months since this easily rectified issue of a HR vibration alert within app development and not one response. Very disappointing and not at all surprising customers are leaving in droves for "Garmin" models etc.. lift your game at least have the respect to respond. Many disabled people rely on accurate HR alarms monitoring and purchased FITBIT thinking this simple feature would be available or updated by now!!

Please add a heart rate alarm to go off and vibrate when maximum heart rate is reached! This is why I bought the Blaze and may have to return it now. Need to train under a specific heart rate. Thank you 🙂

Guys, after 2 years, the vendor has stil not deign to answer us.

Let's face it, this product is a piece of crap.

Let's get back to our normal life, exercise freely without worring about those personal stats they publish and sell behind our back.

I don't even sell this toy for cheap on craigslist, it would not be cool for my purchaser.

I prefer to let it die in my drawer.

Live free or die !

take care

Absolutely agree as in many situations the screen is unreadable because of light conditions and you can't see where you are in zone.

I fully support this request (Charge HR).

A vibrating alert, configurable for lower, upper and max HR thresholds.

If this was indeed submitted a year and a half ago it needs to be resubmitted. This is, I am told, a common feature on many workout monitors and needs to be in the Charge HR as well. This idea does not require gathering new data  just using what already exists in the tracker in a different way. I would greatly benefit from knowing if I am drifing outside my recommended work out zone as I have recovered from open heart surgery and now exercise daily to ensure that I don't end up back in a hospital again.

At the very least if vibration alerts for low and high HR zones is deemed too much work or ( more likely..... ) too much of a battery drain then perhaps a simple solution would be to set up

Quick View Gesture

Bring your Charge HR up to a viewing position to activate.

o     Off    o    Show Clock    o   Show Heart Rate  ( active only when workouts are being recorded )

That would save endless pecking at my watch to check my HR....... and to make that even more useful I would recommend that feature would only operate when the button has been manually pressed to start recording a workout.otherwise it would show the clock for quick view

Being able to get a vibration alarm when my heart rate goes over a set value is the one and most important feature I'm missing. I have read so many comments in this forum that this would be a good feature, with posts going back at least 2 years and moderators acknowledging that it's a great idea. Why hasn't this been implemented yet? It seems like a no-brainer to me...

Thank you @Gailstewart it is very concerning to have multiple serious illnesses with severe Autonomic dysfunction including Post Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). To be bedridden on disabilty and have amazing wife (now my ft carer) and beautiful young children spend a year of savings for my Bday in June on this 'medical necessity' and the need for this simple feature/software upgrade will not even be acknowledged is just so disrespectful.
Really appreciate your (and others) support as these issues are life and death for many disabled.

I'm so upset authentic moment, I had a surge which went faulty, they told me to cut it up aniseed proof. That was five weeks ago. They've given me no money!

Fitbit has an HR 2, available this fall that will likely have something similar to what we want.
