Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

I will be looking closely at the features when it is released. I am not nearly as frustrated with Fitbit as some as it has helped me recover and lose over 50 pounds that I know result direclty from knowing my calorie intake and expenditure but there are issues that could be resolved and hopefully they will be with the Charge 2

@Gailstewart 😟 Completely understand how upsetting it is, if you are on
social media maybe try publicly asking FITBIT, seems many companies these
days only respond when called out on a wide public forum.Take care of
yourself, Wishing you all the best.

I recently sold my Blaze and bought a Magellan Echo Fit with chest strap to
measure heart rate. This combo gave me the ability to setup heart rate zone
alarms with the Wahoo Fitness app for workouts. Also the watch display is
customizable so you can change what it's showing during your workout. And,
it was only $40... The most troubling part about the whole this is that
workouts that my Blaze showed I was plugging along at 145 BPM the chest
strap shoes I am actually over 160 BPM... The Blaze was fine for day to
day low activity heart rate tracking but way off once the sweat started.
Hopefully the wrist based HRM technology gets a little better in the
future.

i also would like a max heart reate waring alarm.

Ditto to the above, when actively tracking through excercises it would be helpful to have a constant display of HR, HR zone and I dunno, time elapsed? I could deal with a shorter battery life for this.

I would also love to see some alert if the bpm goes to nothing.  Ugg I must have had it too tight on my wrist and during my exercise ( shaun t ) 🙂 I had a zero bpm reading.  Not possible with that dude.

As someone who trains based on a set max heartrate. It would be nice to have the charge hr and charge hr2 vibrate and flash when the max heartrate is met. I am having to take off my Fitbit and put a different watch and strap on.

I totally agree!  There should be an alarm for when your heart rate goes over a certain point.  My family has been trying to track our emotional responses and what happens to our oxygen levels when we have conflict.  I bought my charge 2 to monitor that thinking the alarm could be set to let me know when my heart rate rose above a certain point.  Please make this happen!

I thought the Blaze had this feature, part of why I bought it. No brained as it already tracks heart rate zones and saves them to the app. I might just return the tracker and get batteries for my old Pulsar HR monitor.

This feature would be great and very usefull for Surge also

Also i have thought that fitbit blaze has that feature.
It was very important for me while training not to pass max. Heart rate.
Please add this feature to blaze.
Have a good day.

A feature that the user can turn on that causes the Fitbit to buzz (and maybe briefly display HR?) when target HR is reached, and buzzes again when the range is left. Fitbit would also buzz multiple times (maybe alarm?) continuously if HR goes above a certain set high rate to ensure user is alerted that they are overdoing it. User is able to set custom ranges for these alerts to ensure it meets user needed range.

Currently the user has to look at the Fitbit and depending on model has to push buttons to see the HR. This would allow the user to know when they achieve proper HR range without additional distraction. Could also be useful for those concerned with heart issues, that if the HR goes above a certain level the Fitbit will alert them to it.

Yes please! I'm doing MAF heart rate training and would love an vibration alert when I move out of my ideal zone. Or if Fitbit Charge HR could integrate with Runkeeper,  I could use the voice cues on Runkeeper.

There should be some way of setting notifications while you're in different modes. For instance when you're running you should be able to set a notification that alerts you when you heart rate drops below optimal, or when your pace drops below your target, or while you're in weight training to have timed rests.

@AndrewFitbit

This idea was raised two years ago and the latest upgrade arrived this week [Blaze Firmware Release - 17.8.301.7].

FitBit agreed that this was a really useful idea way back.  I too think that this would be a great addition to a Fitness watch.

So, please, can we have an update on whether this has or will be included in future updates?

Thank you

Unfortunately no matter how many times I request an update Fitbit never has
the decency to respond.

Unfortunately Fitbit has the most unresponsive support team I have ever had
the misfortune to deal with.

Once the have your money they couldn't care less about customer support.

My device will be my last Fitbit product because I will to take my custom
elsewhere....

They obviously didn't think it was a good enough idea to include it in the
new Charge - HR 2.

Agree totally mine is now "bubbling" on strap doubt they will honour
warranty or if have strength with chronic illnesses to be bothered wasting
my precious strength and we just will have to save for another 12 months to
go with a company that seems to respect their customers like
"Garmin"...very dissapointing @Fitbit

Heart Rate Zone training is the #1 reason most sports people but heart rate monitors. Odd it is not the #1 feature.
