Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

Hrpacing is a step in the right direction but still not the replacement nor standard functionality.

Thank you. I didn't see that because I didn't see the "View All>" button.
I'll give it a try, but my main concern is still flagging irregular

This would be an excellent feature. I try to train at my aerobic threshold 2-3 times a week, but have a tendency to push myself into anaerobic. With my old Polar heart-rate monitor, I had heart rate zone alerts, and I loved this feature. I would love Fitbit to develop this.

I need Ionic generate alarm (vibration/message notification) every time when my heart rate transition from current zone to another zone.

I have supraventricular tachycardia, and so I bought the Blaze to be able to see my heart rate. But it would be great if I could set a "danger" rate so that if my rate gets above a certain number, my Blaze lets me know. In my case, having a high heart rate isn't always good.

All,

I am shocked and scared that after almost three years that some sort of HR alert zone feature has been suggested by us (the customers!), the status is still under consideration!?!

I hope FitBit ppl will do something soon

thanks

These people just don't care. I have been pushing for this forever. They are coming to work collecting a paycheck, and don't give a dam. Buy Garmin or Polar. They have this feature.

I sent my Charge 2 back to Amazon. I'm now happy with Polar...

I'll never again buy a fitbit product ..

😊

3 years under consideration....

they just try to get money for bad products...

I was searching for suitable sport tracker primary for running. Recently I got Fitbit Charge 2.

I also miss heart rate zone alert. It was a surprise for me that Charge 2 doesn't have this feature. I expected it to be a standard.

I hope that Fitbit will implement it soon, otherwise it doesn't make a sense for me to use it and I will go for other device.

This is a must have and should be a standard feature for all the trackers specially for the ionic as a single device you use for activities without the need to bring a phone. Other phone apps can do this even the other trackers I've known. This is the only thing that keeping me from buying the ionic. I'm torn between the ionic and the VActive 3. I can live without music during activities but hr zone alert is a must have.

DISAPPOINTED 😞

As much I have enjoyed the Blaze for the last year and a half I’ve been wishing for the heart rate alert option to be added but looks like that’s not going to happen , Any one have any ideas for what I could switch to that does offer this option , willing to drop Fitbit all together in order to find this option in another device

Fitbit Charge 2 would be magic if it was waterproof to wear swimming and have heart rate zone alarms. Love it every other way!

The Ionic is waterproof, at least for swimming and bathing, but not for
scuba diving.

I would love to see the BPM function notify the athlete when they surpass or get close to their BPM from the last work out.  Then you can judge whether you need to work harder to improve the conditioning.  Food for thought!

I would love to see this feature added!  Thanks!!

I would love this - sometimes it is inconvenient to raise your wrist to check your heart rate, for example on a cross trainer or whilst doing a circuits set.

Bump  +1! I knew I wouldn't be the only one with this concern. It would be a huge benefit for an "alarm" or notification on my Fitbit HR that would indicate I've reached a dangerous level, without having to constantly focus on my current rate.

Thanks all!

Please implement this.

I agree.  Target heart rate alarms would be a great addition.  However, it would be even better if the heart rate was more accurate via a chest strap.  I absolutely love my new Ionic, but am forced to use my Polar (with chest strap and target heart rate alarms) for any intense workouts.

I agree entirely. How difficult can it be - surely it is just s tweak in the software that comes out with the next software update. I am wondering if Fitbit have some sort of plan for a chest strap or a software update, but are going to charge for it.

I saw an article where a resting heart rate alarm on your competitor's smart watch saved a man's life by waking him when his resting heart rate was extremely elevated.  Seems like an easy firmware fix.

Tommy,

Totally agree with you. I saw that same article and shared it on Fitbit’s Facebook page. We will see...

Thanks Tommy that is exactly one of the reasons why I asked the question when I first got my Ionic - why isn’t there some sort of HR alarm system installed. I was concerned about my own health because my Ionic tells me that I regularly cross the 200 bpm mark, when my number should be 258 - 220 minus your age.

Thank you for adding your comment to the ongoing list. I have also asked the question about why apps are being developed, but Fitbit haven’t done a HRM.
