Heart rate zones alert feature

Many fitness enthusiasts and individuals of whom base their workouts on target heart rate zones would really appreciate a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic as well -if possible ALL Fitbit watches. This feature would allow a Fitbit user to manually set their Fitbit watch to alert the user once their targeted maximum and minimum heart rate has been achieved while performing a workout. Â The watch would vibrate on the user's wrist alerting the user when their selected heart rate has been accomplished or met allowing the user to more cater their workouts to stay within a selected threshold. Â Implementing this feature will also serve well as a safety feature which can alert the user when their calculated heartrate is dangerously high or above the maximum threshold that they set enabling the user to adjust their workout accordingly. Â Some Fitbit users I can imagine and many other individuals have cardiovascular/heart related issues which prevent them engaging in a workout that is too intense therefore a heart rate alert feature implemented into the new Fitbit Ionic would make the watch more marketable to the present customer base, a broader audience of fitness enthusiasts, and desirable to a whole new market of individuals of whom have cardiovascular/heart issues and will really appreciate a heartrate alert feature implemented into their fitness/activity trackers. Overall, implementing this feature will likely increase popularity of the watch, increase revenue, and appeal to a wider range of individuals that are taking steps to improve their health through daily workouts but are limited to what they can do due to cardiovascular/heart concerns. Â Implementing this feature can likely be as simple as have software engineering add it to a software/firmware update which will allow it to perform identical to the silent/vibrating alarm feature already included in most Fitbit watches anyhow.

I wish for a heart rate zone alarm as well. I do feel a little dissapointed that it is not there and that so many users have asked for it over the years with seemingly nothing happening in response. Please prioritize this matter!

I think alarm hear rate is very simple. Why just dont implement it? There just has a guy in my country have heart attack and pass away because he didnt know his heart beat to much. I’ll throw my fitbit to trash and buy other brand which has alarm to protect myself.

Adios

Hi Guys,

Ive been using Fitbit watch for so many years and my first fitness watch was Fitbit surge. Now I switched over to Versa however the heart rate alert is yet to added. I request you guys to add this basic feature to help our heart to be healthy and I don't want him to be squeezed while workouts. The developer guys there are really doing a great job, having said that I guess this is.a very basic feature which should have been added long back. Please add this feature and make us stay in the fitbit family. Good luck guys...

I had a heart attack on 23/12/18 following a lovely horse ride along a beach in Scotland. Would be great to be able to have some way of knowing if there were any indications that I could then look out for in future to preempt a future attack.

bpm is not an indicator of a heart attack. Not what this feature would or
could be used for.

It has been quite a while (since Charge HR in 2014) when users asked to alarm them when the heart zone is crossed. Unfortunately, it was not implemented in Charge HR, Charge 2, and the new Charge 3.

Just read an article in the British ME Association Magazine about using heart rate monitors to manage symptoms of ME/CFS. It recommended a Garmin which I have bought. I’ll hang on to my Fitbit in case they do add heart rate alerts as I prefer it’s App but in the meantime I’ll be using the Garmin (which also had the advantage of being waterproof).

Thank you all, that’s been very helpful.

@Mecfs the Garmin Body Battery feature is also a really, really good indicator of whether it's time to sit down. I've just switched over.

This is a safety feature and you're obviously losing business by not having it. Get with the program, FitBit!

I need a heart rate alert also!

@Mecfs in the interests of openness I’m sending my vivosmart 4 back. Heart rate tracking is often out by 10-20BPM, having checked both manually and against an Omron M7, and sleep tracking is a nonsense.

As a heart patient, having a max heart rate alarm is both useful for moderating excercise intensity, and could also be potentially life saving!  This is especially important for Individuals who have had cardiac intervention, and may not otherwise be able to "feel" an elevated heart rate.

is this feature coming to the Charge 3 any time soon?

Another vote for this feature.  My heart rate is one of the main reasons why I purchased this Versa so having an alarm/notification when it is really elevated would be extremely useful indeed.  The notification should take into account age, etc and then tell you when you are either approaching or exceeding max heart rate.  Would be something that would be most useful if it was an option you could toggle on or off, especially for those that may be much younger and healthier and don't want an alert when they are exercising vigorously.  Thanks.

Still waiting on heart rate alerts we all want.  Get with it Fitbit.  People are buying your competitors.  Guess I should have.  Bought the Alta HR (which stands for Heart Rate by the way) assuming it would the alert, only to find out it doesn't, which is ridiculous.

I would love to see this feature.  I have been looking for something like this for a long time, and I refuse to buy an Apple watch just to get this feature.  Please implement this on all the Fitbit hr watches.

Thanks!

Yes it’s definitely something they need to do as I don’t want to go out and
get a new watch also
