Increase Font Size for Charge 3

I have just received my Charge 3, my first Fitbit. I had held off on the Charge 2 to wait for the 3’s larger display. At 47 I need glasses to read small text and would like to be able to increase the font size on notifications and other features.

This is a must. If you wear glasses for reading, the Charge 3 is practically unreadable in Sunlight. And the text, calendar reminders and so on are all unreadable at anytime without your reading glasses.

All of the hype that came with the “pre-orders” and you can’t even see your steps!!!! Please make the font larger!!!

Hi @Capeff1017, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option on your Charge 3. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has a lot of votes. As the more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

I received my new Charge 3 yesterday, took it out for a run today.  I was pretty surprised to realize I could not read the display because the font was too small for everything except the time display. I can read without glasses normally but when running I needed to stop to read the numbers for steps and heart rate.   It seems that this model was never tested on live runners.  I will return the Charge 3 and look for something I can easily read while moving.

Come on Fitbit! You are losing sales! This should be easy. Adjust the font size and gray scale issue ASAP.

i was just thinking the same thing.  How many customers have they lost because of this issue.  i have taken mine charge 3 back.  it would be nice for them to communicate with us as to what they are doing to fix the issues voiced on this thread and/or give us a possible timeline as to when they will be releasing the update for the fixes.  im getting the impression that they just dont particularly care!

I agree. I’m thinking Fitbit just doesn’t realize what a big deal the small font size is.

FITBIT? Do you read these, or is it just a place to post comments?
What are you doing about the font size and when?

Charge 2 too! I am still using my Charge 2, and would like to be able to read the pace and time as I am running, but that is not going to happen in that tiny font that is used. Please give us the option to have the 2-digit top, 2-digit bottom type display for pace and duration. Thanks!

Come on Fitbit. Get your fingers out and your brains in gear to sort out this font size. Also I’m sure we would all like updates on the progress and not just a couple of words that mean nothing. Give us what we are asking and as Nike strap line says “JUST DO IT” and I’ll add to that and say “AND DO IT NOW”.

The font size for the notifications on the Charge 3 is very small and actually smaller than the Charge 2. This is not good for people with visual difficulties or older people. Please offer a range of font sizes like they do on the iPhone

Just activated my new c3 yesterday replacing my dying c2 I could not believe the size of the steps and hr fonts I’m in my 60’s and only need glasses for reading. I have no chance of seeing what my hr is whilst working out or being able to set up my exercise limits and targets. Hopefully this will be resolved very soon, I’m tempted to return the hr3 and look somewhere else sadly

Luckily the G3 syncs to a device! I have posted I would like a clockface that displayed only steps in large bold fonts. I too hope they will resolve this issue. Even if they don’t I will not give up my G3. Every week I get my steps taken, average etc. emailed to me.

I have been wearing a Fitbit ever since the first months they were released. The new Charge 3 that I opened today will be my third Fitbit. I am SO disappointed! I loved my Alta because I could read it without reading glasses and it has a slim profile. But, it lacked features of the newer models so I broke down and went for the Charge 3, assuming that the fonts and screen time out features on the larger face would be even better than on the Alta. Instead, it is significantly worse!!!!   So, unless I read differently within the next couple weeks, it will be returned and I will go back to my Alta. I had planned to give two of these to family members for Christmas gifts but will not at this point because they will also be unhappy with the font sizes on the screen. PLEASE FIX THIS FAST!!!

I, also, switched my device from Charge 2 to 3 yesterday.  I am 54 and can NOT read the small font as well.  Just as many other people claimed, I would like the display choices from Charge 2; especially the one which shows DATE, TIME, HR, and STEPS in the larger fonts!!  I also do not care for the fact that I can't not see the resting HR unless I open my app.  Charge 2 allowed us to tap the live HR to see the resting HR very easily.

What I don't understand is why mess up the features that everyone liked and cause this fiasco?  If Fitbit likes to add something new to make it appear that there have been some improvements made from the older version, why not leave the old display options (on Charge 2) as they are and then add more to the new (Charge 3)???

I am a swimmer and the only reason I upgraded to Charge 3 is because of the SWIM function.  Never expected to encounter such basic problems which I didn't have with Charge 2.  It is beyond frustrating that I can't read the display unless I pull out my reading glasses....

Please fix this issue ASAP!!

I was astonished there was no option to increase font size on my new charge 3. This needs urgent attention & an update.

Received my Charge 3 yesterday, switched from a Charge 2 for the swim function.  Also disappointed with the readability of the screen.  Waiting to see if the issue is resolved quickly or will have to send it back. No point in having a device on your wrist if you can't read it.  Thanks.

If you send it back please tell about the reason is because of the font size. That will help us who are waiting for a firmware update that fixes this. Thanks!

Couldn't agree more.  I can't read the font on Charge 3 . Very disappointed.  Please update software to increase font size

All,

Since there was no progress of any kind on the font issue from Fitbit, and this is vital to my health, I had to give up and buy a Charge 2 HR to use instead.

The decision was pretty much made for me because the Charge 3 died in one month. After going back and forth with Fitbit support they sent a replacement, which died in 3 days. It seems to be related to updating to the most recent firmware and changing clock faces. Sadly, Fitbit would not provide a refund for the premature failures of two Charge 3 devices.

I just needed something that works so I bought an older Charge 2 HR and will not be able to use it in water as I had hoped with the Charge 3.

I hope you all have better experiences that I have had with the Charge 3.

Charge 3 steps display much too small.  font size needs to be increased.  Charge 2 display was much better.  Thinking about returning the Charge 3 I just received two days ago.

Very disappointed in the Charge 3 display.  Font is way too small...who can read it???  Can I get the date on the default screen?   I miss that!
