Integrate with Apple Watch

The options available for wearing your FitBit with business casual clothing is extremely limited. Please partner with Apple & allow us to use the Apple Watch to track our steps for a premium subscription. I love the APP & currently proudly wear my flex daily, but would really like the option available when the Apple Watch is released.

Would love to see integration with an Apple Watch for premium subscribers. I get that Fit Bit makes their money off of selling devices but a reasonable subscription fee would offset the revenue loss from people who are currently migrating to Apple Watches without the integration. Right now these customers are completely lost to FitBit but they are asking for a feature they can easily provide and it lets FitBit recapture them as paying customers. We ask for it because we have been long time customers who have paid for these device(s) and get value from the features as they support our quest for a healthy lifestyle. Please continue to support our goals as the market changes and take advantage of the opportunity at your feet. Thank you for your consideration.

I must disagree with your analogy since the population of Seattle and even more so the population of Seattle that would buy a Toyota for just its ability to parallel park would not even be a blip on the worlds population map.. More likely what would happen is that the "Hondas" of the world would patent something equally as useful, license it to other companies, make a fortune, and the archaic thinking of Toyota would drive their company out of business.. Fitbit standing their ground on this will shorten their 15 minutes of fame.. Think of it this way... Do you think Microsoft is hurting from licensing Microsoft Office to apple?

However I paid for the fitbit and apple watch. They have lost nothing. Only to make me a happier customer .

@Whistley21,

Do the math.  $1M when the car goes for $30k is... How many cars?  34.  Among 1,000,000 cars sold that's only 3.4 thousands of one percent.

Most folks that I know that are in the market for a new car will have a short list of cars that they'd consider.  If two cars are otherwise tied on that list, then this may be the feature that will break that tie.  I know people who dread going into the city because they'll need to parallel park.  You don't think that among the millions of cars sold each year, this one feature may be the one that persuades 34 of those buyers?  Well, that's $1M.

For each one of your examples I could probably come up with another counter example...  How about this?  Let's take for instance that very device we're talking about, the Apple Watch.  Apple wants to sell you this device to keep you locked on their platform.  Why not integrate it with Android and Windows?  Because they want to keep you locked on their platform.  Or do you think it's more likely that (using your words with a few edits😞

"More likely what would happen is that the 'Microsofts' or 'Googles' of the world would patent something equally as useful, license it to other companies, make a fortune, and the archaic thinking of Apple would drive their company out of business.."

Why not?  They'd sell more Apple Watches that may be used with other phones.  You spent $400 an Apple Watch and you just switched to a Samsung Galaxy S8.  They should make it work just because you're asking for it; you'd even be willing to pay for the Android App to integrate with your Apple Watch.

The argument and logic is the same, but the products and players are different.  I suppose anything is possible, but I'm not holding my breath.

I happen to work for a company that build autonomous vehicles in Detroit and I fully understand your thought process but let's take that 1 million dollars from your example and see how much of its left after your self-parking car backs over someone child.. morbid, yes but it is a reality. Companies love to invent just to sell. This eliminates liability and manufacturing costs. Fitbit has two things going for them. Hardware and a social media platform. I'd say the social media platform is of much more value and much less liability. They would be wise to sell access to this virtual world in my opinion. But it's my opinion, I can't refute your argument either. It is their business model, not mine. They just need to realize that fitness social media sites are a dime a dozen and some already work with Fitbit hardware as well as Apple. They may lose out.

Fitbit had to replace my Charge three times under warranty; I'd have thought getting me to pay the annual fee for Premium would be a financially better move for them.

Plus of course, I don't need to pay Fitbit anything: I can take part in challenges by keeping my phone in my pocket and using Mobile Track. But if Fitbit allowed my Watch to count as a tracker if I joined Premium then suddenly I'm an income stream.

Oh, and I've already bought three Ones as well as a Charge. The One is reliable and accurate but that bit too easy to lose. The Charge was a shockingly bad design that any self-respecting company would have recalled.

I love my Fitbit and just got an Apple Watch....I haven't given up my Fitbit...I actually upgraded at the same time and bought a Charge HR 2.

I want to keep my Fitbit dashboard as my "source of truth" for stats.

I love and use both products for different reasons.

I purchased the Sync Solver apps to save my 'daytime' steps (apple watch) to my Fitbit dashboard.  And I sync back my Aria scale and sleep stats (Fitbit) to Apple Health.

I just wish it were a cleaner integration!!

The steps I take during the day (Apple) are tracked as 'exercises' on my Fitbit dashboard 😞 gumming up by Exercise goals...BUT at least I'm getting a TOTAL step count.

And I can't sync heart rate across platforms at all. 😞

Fitbit......I'm not going to leave you if you integrate.  ❤️  I just want to take advantage of both technologies with 1 set of results.

Thanks for listening!

I posted this same comment in the other 'integrate with Apple watch'...posting it to this thread as well.

I keep my true 'exercises', dog walks, yard work and housework steps on my Fitbit.

I just like the Apple watch for my time at work and when I go out on the weekends at night etc....but I don't want to lose those steps!

I love my FitBit and Apple Watch for different reasons ...I have been using both for the last 15 months ( Hard to give up my FitBit stats and friends).  Most people look at me as if I am crazy!

As thousand of FitBit users have already said " I would pay for fitbit's annual premium service if it fully integrated with the Apple Watch".

Unfortunately, FitBit is in the business of selling devices, not satisfying their customers that love their App.

I just want to take advantage of both technologies with 1 set of results.

I have purchase 1 FitBit with BestBuy protection..... I am on my 5th device since 1/1/2014, as BB keeps replacing the broken ones for the cost of new protection.  I have purchased another 6 devices for family members between 2014-2016.  Now everyone in the family has Apple Watches.

The family community has died!

Please integrate with the Apple Watch!

Seems it's not happening. Feels like no one is listening. Or if they do they simply have no desire to go this route.

I have also had many fit bits (4) and they have all been recalled or fallen apart.  The apple watch is the first devise that has not unglued or unraveled on me so please find  way to integrate.  I have the last fitbit  i purchased which didn't last four months before it broke.  Will not purchase another.  Please find a way to joint the tech.

I'd pay $40 to use an Apple Watch Fitbit app. I've had multiple Fitbits but now i have an Apple Watch.  I love the app integration Fitbit has achieved but I need less devices.  Plus there would be no hardware repairs shipping warranty claims etc.

I would absolutely LOVE this, if it were added as a feature. I would PAY for it on a monthly basis or something. Love my fitbit, love the app but I also wear my watch and if I could keep up with my steps etc so I'm not losing them just because I'm not able to wear my PURPLE Fitbit is such a bummer.

Please work with Apple before a 3rd party figures this link between the 2 out and the you will be screwed I've had 5 fitbits with the last one being the blaze and I switched to an Apple Watch. This is a perfect time for a monthly fee 5.99 a month will go a long way or the Fitbit company. I know you don't want to cave into the big Apple but you need to work well together or they will squash you. We love Fitbit and want you to succeed you have many loyal customers! Please keep us happy once the FOMO of my Fitbit group goes away I won't even look back. You know darn well the Apple health apps will get better it's just a matter of time

Please add this. I stopped using FitBit entirely at the end of 2016 because I got an Apple Watch and you don't support it. I refuse to wear two devices. I checked today to see if by chance you guys have come to your senses, and I see you have not. I know many people that have dropped out of FitBit entirirly for the same reason. It's time you guys wake up.

Would love to see Apple integration to my Fitbit app.. I love your software and the fitstar but the  hardware is not great.. understand why you would be reluctant to do the integration as potential loss of sales of Fitbit devices.. but you could make it a chargeable subscription and open up a whole other market to your company

I completely agree with integrating Apple Watch steps into the fitbit tracker app. I wear my fitbit at work (where I can't wear my Apple Watch) and I wear my Apple Watch on my days off. Both are very valuable resources for tracking steps for me and I would love to be able to continue to use the FitBit app as it has an amazing user interface. I understand this is an old thread, but please consider offering a subscription service to those who would want to use an Apple Watch or other non FB tracker to track in the FB app.

I think the integration of Apple Watch steps into the fitbit tracker app would be extremely useful for a very large market of people. I personally wear my fitbit at work and I wear my Apple Watch on my days off. Both are very valuable resources for tracking steps for me and I would love to be able to continue to use the FitBit app as it has an amazing user interface. Please consider offering a subscription based service to those who would want to use an Apple Watch or other non FB tracker to track in the FB app.

I went through four Fitbit devices before giving up, they simply don't have the capability of competing with the Apple Watch or even my Garmin. I love the Fitbit community and the competitions but my main activity is swimming and the waterpooof Fitbit doesn't track laps or distance. If Fitbit had a comproable device to the Apple Watch or garmin it wouldn't be an issue but they just don't. Please let me rejoin the Fitbit community with the Apple Watch!

I would like to see a watch band tracker to integrate the Apple Watch and the FitBit ecosystem. FitBit gets cash for the tracker and the consumer gets Apple Watch functionality on top of the FitBit community.

My latest Surge (second one) has failed again and I've decided to replace it with anApple Watch. I would love to stay in the Fitbit community, but the device meets my needs better than any of the trackers on offer from Fitbit. I would even pay a subscription or one-time fee to be able to sync my apple watch steps to my fitbit data for sharing and competing with others.

Please integrate with apple watch soon, would really like to continue competing wihtout changing apps.

also fitbits tend to break very often 😕

So this thread has been going on for over 2 years and still nothing? Is anyone at FitBit even reading this? I sold my Surge (which I loved) to a friend when I got my Apple watch. My Apple watch does way too much more than the Surge for me to give it up, but I too have friends I want to compete with and challenge. PLEASE work together (unlike our Congress) and make this a reality!

I"m an Apple Watch user since the beginning in which force not to use Fitbit anymore but I would love the ability to compete with my friend.  Please make an integration with Apple Health.
