Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Sync Sover Fitbit-> Health seems to get all the fitbit data into the Health app, but the other direction (Health -> Fitbit) doesn't seem posible for step data - see http://syncsolver.com/healthfitbit/support/#94e44bf7

If this type of syncing was more accurate and complete, I would be happy to continue to be a part of the fitbit web platform and interact with fitbit friends, etc. If not, I'll eventually stop using the fitbit web platform and my "friends" will have less incentive to stay on the platform with fewer friends having visible activity. Before getting the fitbit I had been using "myfitnesspal" and "mynetdiary" and continued to use all platforms when I got the fitbit, due to the syncing between the two. Now I may just go back to the others and ignore the fitbit side, since it can't see my Apple Watch.

Hi, I want to see Blaze data in my iOS Health app please.

Add me as another wanting to sync my fitbit data with Apple Health app. My first fitbit (Surge 2) just arrived today and I'm astonished to discover it does not write data to the Apple Health app.

Hi, please add me as another new user wanting to sync their fitbit data with the Apple Health app. I bought a new fitbit today, but not sure if I'm going to keep it or go back to another garmin product.

Oh fitbit you really missed a trick here and it is extremely shoddy you have not at the very least acknowledged this request with a real explanation why you won't support it.

I own the Aria scales and it is ludicrous they cannot send my readings to apple health. I really like these scales and despite my first breaking after a year, which impressively you replaced, I am starting to look for wifi scales that play ball with apple health.

I fear taking on apple in this way will make fitbit irrelevant.

For anyone unaware, the "Sync Sover" iPhone apps do a pretty good job of getting fitbit data into Apple's Health app.

Alternatively it migh be possible to use some other fitness tracking website/app to get you data from fitbit, and then use that app to get the data to Apple's Health app, but I have not tried that.

Thats not the point, HealthKit integration should be in Fitbit app and not require workarounds. Same for Google Health and Microsoft Vault (Fitbit killed support for this last year).

I'm currently using two workarounds:

- the free MyFitnessPal has long supported receiving Fitbit data. After using my Aria scale, I launch MyFitnessPal and it syncs weight to Health

- Strava syncs my cycling workouts to Health

Fitbit is annoying me into finding reasons to get rid of Fitbit products and use more capable products. Garmin products are built better (e.g. waterproofing), have real fitness metrics/features, and play better with 3rd parties like Apple.

I would love to see my Fitbit sync with the Apple Health app!

@bbarrera you are so correct, fitbit does not care about the community, they only care about selling their products... its evident by their refusal to play nice with other apps like apple health..

within 2 years they will suffer the same fate as blackberry..

Fitbit - please comment on this. I'm on my 4th flex and have been extremely happy with them all (lost one, boiled one in a hot tub, one failed). However, I'm looking at the Blaze vs. the Apple watch to have more options and with all the other apps I use tying into Apple Health, I have to say I'm leaning toward the Apple watch for the simple reason of linking. Would you please comment and let your dedicated users know whether or not you'll be getting on board with HealthKit?

I hope your company seriously considers this! Fitbit's Challenge features and community building are far superior to Apple's Health app, and the inability to sync the two is incredibly frustrating. I believe you'll see more people abandon their loyalty for your products if you can't compromise on this point. It would be a shame to leave Fitbit behind entirely, but I'm closer to that every day.

Pls sort this out! I'm going to upgrade my Fitbit but just got new iPhone 6s and now considering just getting an Apple Watch instead.

Forget Fitbit they are not going to stop blocking apple. And apple is about to come out with a new watch, wait for the new watch and dump Fitbit.

Sent from my iPhone (please excuse terseness or typos)

why is it not as purely simple as the app asking what device you'd like to pair it with (they all use Bluetooth) & if it's ANYTHING other than a Fitbit product, then perfect = $4.99/month to use our app & partake in challenges. Fitbit still makes $ (the only thing they actually care about) & then there's only one source of steps/exercise to make it fair in challenges.

But with no action on their part in 3 years, I have since bought an Apple Watch and will never use my Fitbit again.

Come on guys, I get that Apple have the Apple Watch which is now a competitor to your market but this idea has been under consideration since 2014, the Health Kit from within IOS is a great idea and I hate all the hoops I have to jump through to get any information from my Blaze and Aria onto it.

I know that I'm not alone in this suggestion and I feel it would benefit all parties.

Please consider integrating with iHealth

i love the data and want to store all in one places

You've lost a fitbit user to the apple watch.  Why so much obstinance to integrating with Apple Health?  Do you really expect people to wear multiple devices?

Disappointing that this request has been around for 3 years and is still "under consideration".

I'm super disappointed that I can't compete with my fitbit friends anymore.

njohan81

The idea with an HealthKit integration is that i share my private data to other -apps, but also that i can compete with other friends on different hardware brands, now i only can compete with FitBit -friends, and i have friends in other hardware brands that is integrerade with Apple HealthKit, and thats a problem.

Anyhow... my data is mine, not FitBit´s and i would like to share that with other programs that uses Apple HealthKit, now i am forced to use only FitBit -app and some of there 3´rd party developers, but most of them is not apps that uses Apple -HealthKit and so on.

Come on, Fitbit. Allow data to sync with Apple Health or risk losing customers.

mazze85

its absolute senseless to the customers, that the sync with apple health doesnt work. for me it was my first and my last fitbit product. i will send it back.

hat means you have no real serious intent.  Too bad, you guys are going to lose because of this hubris.  You could have made money for years by opening up the app to integrate with other hardware.  Now you will fade into history.....  or get smart and act and save the long term revenue of the company.

Please integrate both. It would have been a deal breaker if I knew the two don't work together. I would have stuck with other bracelets.

It's pretty **ahem** asinine in this day and age that this can't be a two way street. I gave Fitbit a try but my Charge HR literally fell apart 3 times in  a year under normal use. I got tired of replacing it and my warranty was about up so I gave my new one to a friend for $20 because I felt it wasn't worth worth much more than shipping and a beer. I bought an Apple watch and have had 0 liability issues. Now the kick to the groin, my employer has healthy rewards that only works with FitBit. %$#$%%^# I refuse to buy another fitbit and have my $500 apple watch sit in drawer just because you guys are being snotty about having Apple Health Integrate and sync both ways.
