Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I love my Fitbit, because I don't want to always have my phone with me (and I certainly don't want to sleep with it), but, if Fitbit refuses to integrate with HealthKit, I imagine, sadly, that I'll have to look into a different option.

I most definitely want FitBit to sync with Health! It would be AMAZING to have all of our information in one place. Please, oh PLEASE, have it sync soon!!!

Just came to say I'm surprised that there was an update and still no integration with Health on iOS. It just seemed so obvious to me and I expected it to happen immediately, so hopefully you guys will get that going soon.

It just feels like a wasted opportunity to enhance the experience.

If there is no integration then another good reason to switch to Watch when launched. The clock is ticking...

Wow. My wife and I like our Fitbits, but without HealthKit compatibility, we're totally going to pawn these things off on some sucker, and buy something from a different company.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, Fitbit!

I have being a Fitbit user for a few years. I have bought several units for myself, family, and friends. I feel I have been let down by Fitbit, first by promising a update the call notifications for the force and not supplying a update. And now by NOT inter grating with IOS HealthKit. I will not purchase any further items from Fitbit! And will be replacing the items that I have purchased with the Garmin viosmart which does what the force was supposed to do in the first place! Please note: I will never recommend Fitbit to anyone and will be also replacing the gifts I have given to friends and family. Shame on you Fitbit

The Clash once posed the question: "Should I stay or should I go?" Your surprising statement leaves me only one way to answer this question unless I can get an explanation from you that would help me understand what factors would persuade you to revise your decision.

ChrisCA, That is only an option on the full site, not the mobile site. It also only counts the forum users what about users who don't visit the forums and just assume that this will be coming?

Wow no plans for integrating with Healthkit is just plain silly.......

All the other companies did, not mentioning names, my wireless weight scale company did and released the app 1 day after the real launch of Healthkit and it is really nice to see my weight, body fat etc changes in one app, integrated with my heart rate and other informations which apps are integrated too.

Time to look for a different company for a tracker. Too bad, I liked my flex a lot. Smiley Frustrated

I wrote to customer support and got the same answer as everyone else - no plans to support HealthKit at this time. I've been using my Force since it came to market and it has defnitely helped me with my fitness and weight loss goals, but I can't envision staying with any Fitbit hardware if they have no plans to integrate with Apple's system. There's just too much competition and too many other trackers that will integrate with HealthKit for me to stay loyal to a company that's planning to keep my data isolated in their bubble.

This isn't hard, guys - make the integration happen and you keep a lot of customers. Ignore it while your competition doesn't and you're going to see a lot of people making a switch.

I think at this point it would be best for all of us to not give them time to debate. The point of a fitbit is to have not only a track of today, but months and years of data. Clearly Fitbit doesn't care about its customers and every day from here on out is a lost opportunity to collect your data all together in one place.

Fitbit has chosen to hold our data hostage rather than work with Apple to help us reach our health goals.

Their mission statement is: To empower and inspire you to live a healthier, more active life. We design products and experiences that fit seamlessly into your life so you can achieve your health and fitness goals, whatever they may be.

Do you really feel that is the truth at this point?

Looks like we need a separate app just to sync Fitbit to HealthKit.

I bought Fitbit only because of Health kit.

However, Fitbit betrayed my faith and destroyed my dream.

I lost my 130 bucks.

It also only counts the forum users what about users who don't visit the forums and just assume that this will be coming?

It counts only those who actually vote.

What about users who post in this thread but don't vote?

Fitbit One would be far more valuable if it could sync with Apple's Health app.

Also, my vote "FOR" tips the scale and  it should now be synched.

I was an early FitBit customer. I've had three over the years. My last I just threw away because of no HealthKit support. It's in the garbage. That's all it will be worth on iOS platforms soon. There is no excuse for this integration not existing *right* *now*. But even an answer of "give us a month or two" I could understand. But an answer of "vote on it because we don't know if it's important" is so asinine that it disgraces your company. Never again, even if you change your mind, I won't buy from you again because this questions shows where your heart and mind are...no where... Bye bye.

+1 for iOS8 Health integration. Please please please.

Any intentions on IFTTT integration?

I recently purchased a Flex with the expectation that iOS8 Health app would be supported, if not now then in the very near future.  As it currently appears that Fitbit doesn't have any intention of integrating with Apple Health I'll be returning the Flex and getting an Jawbone Up24 this week.

I have been using Fitbit since 2011 and have been through at least 5 trackers (no fault of fitbit, I tend to lose them). I am blown away that you are not yet syncing with Apple's health app and the fact that I have seen many post from Fitbit saying that you have no plans to do so. You are NUTS! You need to sync with Apple and you need to do it soon. I am already looking at competitors that will sync with Apple and if Fitbit doesn't fix this in the next couple weeks I will be a lost customer forever.

I like my Fitbit, but I will be forced to replace it if there is no Healthkit integration soon. I've been wearing it everyday since I got it almost two years ago, but I will move to a competitor that integrates with Healthkit in order to take advantage of the benefits of having all my health-related data in one place.

Healthkit is a major platform, and there was plenty of advance warning given to developers. I really cannot imagine any good reasons to NOT integrate with Healthkit. I have to assume the decision to NOT integrate is a misguided attempt to protect Fitbit's position in the marketplace, but I can't think of a time when similar tactics worked. It seems like a quick and easy way to lose customers.

About that ChrisCA,

You accused me of not voting. When called out that you had that wrong, you clained you looked at the wrong list.

I as a general user can see a list of who voted. There is not list of who didn't vote that I can see. Unless you work for fitbit.

If you work for fitbit stop covering and work wth your customers.

I just voted for integration to Healthkit too.  It's crazy that it isn't already integrated.  I too will jump ship if it isn't integrated!!!

Lack of Healthkit integration is such a self-destructive decision, it is shocking. Maybe, Fitbit cannot survive financially without the premium user revenue that HealthKit makes obsolete. Anyway, besides pressure from unhappy customers, Fitbit management may get pressure from their venture capital partners. If Fitbit does not integrate by December, like many of you, I will buy a competitor's device. It is kind of sad to see what they are doing.
