Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I am so completely disappointed that Fitbit is not integrating with HealthKit.  The garmin Viofit and Jawbone Up already have integration.  I'm definitely returning my fitbit and purchasing a product willing to stay up to date with new technology.

I'm considering buying a Fitbit.  I have to admit, I'm leaning towards it mostly for aesthetic reasons, it seems to be the least noticeable and, from what I've read, the most comfortable device of this kind.  However, I'm disappointed to see that it won't be integrated with the Healthkit app.  I do see that Fitbit does work with MapMyRun, which I do use, and that MapMyRun integrates with Healthkit.  I don't want to spend $100 to test this, but I wondered if MapMyRun wouldn't transfer the Fitbit data to Healthkit?

+1 for HealthKit Integration.  The Jawbone app was already jumping ahead of the Fitbit app, and now Fitbit is dragging their feet on HealthKit?  Time to get back in the game and step it up Fitbit.

I understand the point of voting... And yet I can't shake the feeling that fitbit doesn't care and is using this whole vote mess as a way to dump us into a convenient black hole... Where they hope that we will never be seen or heard from again... I mean seriously while we are posting here we aren't out on the rest of the site... We like plague are contained...

Did anyone at Fitbit knows that the data sync can work both ways in Healthkit? Meaning if you don't like a certain application you can seamlessly move data between applications with it?

I can track my pulse in an application and reroute the data via Healthkit to another where I keep all my stuff if I don't like the Healthkit interface. Tadaaaa.... Wake up Fitbit.

Build quality app, with quality features and everyone will sync to you.

Facepalm.

You accused me of not voting. When called out that you had that wrong, you clained you looked at the wrong list.

I as a general user can see a list of who voted. There is not list of who didn't vote that I can see.

But you and I can click on a username and see what they voted on.

Click on anyone's name, then scroll down and you can see MY RECENT VOTES GIVEN

I am not/have not been a FitBit employee and have nothing to do with them except I use the app and post here.

As far as employees posting here, almost always they are limited in what they can post or discuss, for many, many reasons.

What they post could be construed as official company policy and there could be legal consequences for posting wrong/incorrect or unannounced products/features (ie. stuff in development).

Right Feenix! http://goo.gl/uOOiJ8

Keep talking here makes no change. We should start to spread the world how clueless are in Fitbit. Let's start to complain outside like I've done here http://goo.gl/keBzH2  probably will not change things but it gives a lot of satisfaction 😛

Let's make some noise 😄

Add me to the list that is getting ready to dump Fitbit.  How shortsighted can you be?!

Instead of focusing on what is best for the consumer, they're dragging their feet and trying to determine how to minimize impact to their "premium" service.  It's laughable.

Good luck guys... You'll need it with this type of approach.

Yes, yes, yes.  Please integrate.  Particularly the scale!  This is a huge deal breaker for any future purchases.

And a voting system that only runs on some platforms (not mobile) is poor way to make business choices.

Not all fitbit users use the forums.

Not all fitbit users the desktop version of the site.

Not all fitbit users have had a chance to vote.

That does not take into account the potential future customers who see that not supported and move on. They have no investment in this ecosystem.

I had a classic, then my one. I loved them, but this response feels like I'm deally with a completely different company. Like fitbit has lost touch with who they were, and I don't think I can support who they are becoming.

Oh and they can post, very carefully to let us know they are reading this stuff.

Like a moderator popping in and saying,  nothing more than 'interesting'.

I doubt they are reading these posts because I contacted them via email. With actually quotes from this thread. The wrote back asking me to vote and to comment here. Obviously I have voted and commented. I have called and emailled.

I don't want a new tracker, but I do want my data collected in one place where I can use it.

I eat and exercise to my blood sugar. The first system that makes it easy to track blood sugar, food and activity will be where you find me.

+1 for Healthkit integration with Apple i0S 8  I switched from Jawbone to Fitbit in April of this year because my Jawbone device kept breaking on me every few weeks.  So far I've been happy with my Fitbit but do have a replacement Jawbone device waiting in the wings.  I'd rather not go back.

Stepping Up

I am waiting for HealthKit integration since the day iOS 8 was released. Even in Apple keynote back in july there was fitbif flex shown where Apple introduced HealtKit, it was strong signal for me that Fitbit is working on that integration.

Pretty amazed given the lead time developers got that this wasn't ready on day one. I'm definitely going to be looking at another fitness tracker solution now that I know this is still a ways off.

This needs to happen like yesterday.

Wow, I am in awe at the recent turn of events.  Since iOS 8.0.2 was released, I have been constantly checking the app store for updates to Fitbit.  Update 2.4 recently came out and I thought FINALLY!  Then I realized that Health integration is STILL not a part of Fitbit.  Now I find out that they aren't even sure if they are going to ingegrate and are having users VOTE on this idea???

I thought this was a done deal and we were just waiting for an update.

I have been a fitbit zip, one and flex user as well as Aria for many years.  I love the product.  But now that there is a solution to aggregate all the various data from the many health apps I use.  Now my favorite app that collects my steps and sleep data is not coming??

I think it's time to say goodbye to Fitbit.  Withings or Jawbone, here I come.

Anyone want a brand new flex or aria??? I'll sell mine for CHEAP!!

Not only that. They currently have no plan to support it. My guess is that they are on the verge of bankruptcy. Between the Fitbit Force recall, high tracker failure rates/RMA in the field, and the fact that they no longer have a competitive/compelling product, sales can't be very good.

"We sincerely apologize for your frustration in this matter, and regret that we do not have answers to all of your questions.

Although Fitbit is constantly seeking ways to improve and integrate with third party partners, we don't have plans to integrate with HealthKit at this time. We have passed your feedback on to our Customer Support leadership team.

Our previous customer advocate referred you to the Community forum so that you have the opportunity to provide feedback. Developers working for Fitbit are constantly mining the Community forums looking for new ideas, and seeing what our customers are interested in. Adding your feedback there is the best way to make your interests in integration with HealthKit heard.

If you are still interested, share your ideas about HealthKit integration with us in our Community: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Requests/Integrate-with-iOS-8-Health-App /idi-p/319432

We appreciate your time and the feedback you've provided."

Fitbit refusing to intergate with Apple HealthKit will eventually be a deal breaker for us. Let's hope Fitbit changes its mind - this is our vote for that!

You know when I was a kid the only canned crap we had was in a blue can called SPAM,

This canned crap is even worse.( meaning canned replys from teir 1 ( lack of ) support )

I think its time for the social media reveloution to begin,

I JUST saw several tech sites posting about trackers worst to first and all three fit bit platforms are represented. These folks need to update their reviews, let the public know that fitbit is NOT going to get with the program

Start an Amazon review campaign. Give them 1-2 stars and post that they don't intend to support HealthKit.

Would love to see fitbit with the new Health App. for i0S 8.0.  I thought for sure they would be on top of this.  Come on guys other makers of devices are ahead of you.

posted a review compete with email from fitbit over at amazon

I just got this from tactiohealth

this is the way it shoould be,

Thanks for contacting our support team.

Actually with had it ready but with all the problems that Apple had with it's last update we had to remove it. We are now making sure everything is working like it should be before releasing it. I can't give you a date yet but it's coming.

Ralph

Please add HealthKit integration. One more week without and I'm getting rid of my Flex for a tracker that does have HealthKit integration. Your customers are/have been begging for it.

I love you fitbit, but this will be a deal breaker.  Either figure out how integrate with iOS Healthkit, or I'll be forced to look at other options.  Please don't make me leave.
