Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

If fitbit isn't planning on integrating with HealthKit, that makes the apple watch much more tempting.  Come on guys!

For me, iOS 8 Health app integration is a requirement, and the app must share in both directions (or have the option of setting it thusly).

I want to see my weight, waist, steps, calories eaten, etc over time sync with the Health app.

Basically, I won't replace my Flex with your next product until the sync with Health app is in place.

Definitely disappointed that Fitbit is not on top of this already. The Up app is already there. One would hope that it is underway and in which case Fitbit just need to say when it is coming. If it is not underway then Fitbit are falling behind.

This is unbelievable FitBit. I think you guys are just scared that the Apple Watch will destroy your brand. I hope you can conform to the new standards otherwise you will lose your customer base. You had since WWDC to test out your apps

Please add integration to the health app.

Fitbit either didn't know there were apps already out working with HealthKit or they are lying. Either way it's disturbing and not something I would come to expect from a company that should be on top of technology.

Regardless, I downloaded the Breeze app and that seems to be working well. If it continues to work I will just get rid of my Fitbit all together.

Why no comment on integration with iOS 8 and the Health app?  How can you ignore this completely or ignore the clamour for information?  Or is there nobody at home?  At least structure our expectations!  Is there going to be a sync option?  When is it going to be available?  To say absolutely nothing is, at the very least, dreadfully poor customer service.

Just got this response from Fitbit Support - finally confirmation that it's ready and under review! At last you can breathe, folks.

@josephjscott The Health integration's already under review and you can vote and share your feedback here: https://t.co/VLKFa3OLyy. Thanks!

Another vote yes to integration with iOS 8 Health Kit. I already have it linked with myfitnesspal and I love it.

Sure hope there's no bad blood between Apple and Fitbit over the new Apple Watch.  Fitbit should really be working hand-in-glove with the new Health app.

Hope integration into iOS Health is coming!

I hope the app we already use is integrated with HealthKit.

Those who are saying they are going to switch to Jawbone... have you done any research on it? It's a new app that doesn't require a wristband. Seems a lot of existing UP customers are annoyed right now.

This whole HealthKit thing is still rolling out, lets give it time. The grass isn't always greener 😉

I would have expected FitBit to be one of the first apps updated for HealthKit. Is it possible that after the issues with Force, FitBit has decided not to be as innovative or are there other issues limiting FitBits involvement in the Apple ecosystem. I was sad to see Wahoo fitness, Runkeeper, MyfitnessPal and others so far ahead of the curve while Fitbit continues to be silent.

I find it strange that we need to vote. I ofcourse vote yes, but perhaps we should have to votes no instead, so everyone can see exactly who the 4 people in the world that wouldn't want integration would be.

Can you honestly tell me that Fitbit didn't think people would want this??

Add me to the list.  Please send data to the health app.  thanks.

Really at this point Fitbit should be able to say yes they are going to pursue integration with HealthKit or that they are going to decline on any such pursuit. The release of HealthKit was announced several months ago at the wwdc... It isn't a surprise ... Apple didn't just pull a rabbit out of its corporate hat. However I do point out that Fitbit may not be in a financial position to roll out anything new... The force and any pending lawsuits over such would put a ding in anyone's bottom line

Hope the next Fitbit Force works with health kit. Certainly would be great.

Still not healthkit integration!?

i cant believe!!!!

a quick read above would have let you know that fitbit replied that the app has been submitted,

rather than come here and whine about you cant believe it why not go and whine at Apple to get off their collective butts and get the apps approved, they are averaging 2 Apps approved for healthkit every 24 Hrs   as of right now there are 18 approved, based on their time frame, there should be 2 more approved by 10 PM EST

Yes, I too would love to see Fitbit sync with the Apple Health app.  Keep checking my updates hoping for it.

the post above says that integration is under review and that we should vote... It does not say that it was sent to apple... And the link brings you back to this string... Therefore my presumption ( which I freely admit  maybe wrong) was that fitbit was still considering whether it wanted to proceed with integration... So at this point snarling at apple about an app that they have not received would be pointless...

If Fitbit has submitted something then I apologize for fussing... As to Apple taking its time to make sure that apps are secure and meet guidelines... Well I can't blame them... And as it would involve my data... Quite frankly I prefer it that way
