Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.  

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I am very dissapointed that fitbit did not take advantage of the beta release of iOS8 to be able to integrate with the Health app from the start. I am even more dissapointed that there isn't a date to expect the integration, just a suggestion to come to this board to post our opinion. Fitbit, you want me to get used to using your device in the Health app, not replace it with another device that is integrated.

I decided to write to fitbit support from the app. The way I figure it this goes directly to the programmers. I think it's a bunch of double talk, but this is how they responded:

We are working very hard to get our next-generation Fitbit app to market. While we do not have a firm date to share, know that the update is in progress, undergoing testing, and will be released as soon as it is ready. We are thrilled there is so much excitement and appreciate your patience as we go through this process. At this time we don’t have an estimated availability date, but our website will be updated as soon on this matter. Let us know if you have additional questions.

Please integrate with Apple's HealthKit and include all data collected by both your application, software, and devices to share with HeathKit.

I think you should support HealthKit as soon as possible, because all Fitbit competitors are supporting it, and you may lose a lot of users.

It's not like this was a surprise. they knew it was coming. 

Time to start looking for a replacement, i see lots of comments for UP and i'll be looking into that.

Voted.... Seriously this inexcusable. Developers have had access to iOS 8 for months. Fitbit should have been on top of this right away even with the problems and delays caused by the 8.0.1 update. If there isn't an update to add integretion within the next month I'm dropping fitbit and switching to another service.

I would love to see Health Kit integration that doesn't need to be bridged through MFP.  My Fitbit One is on it's last legs, I may be forced to look elsewhere to get better integration when my One kicks the bucket.  I believe Garmin is already integrated and I have garmin devices for my bike, it would be logical to swap to their pedometer....

If Fitbit doesn't upgrade their app, I'll move to Withings. I love the integration Fitbit had between their scale and app, but I want an app and devices that are connected. I'd hate to lose all my historical data with Fitbit, but I guess that's a small price to pay for going to a company that stays current on technology.

Apple shows off your device on announcement, but we don't have this yet.  Jawbone does... While I appreciate the MFP integration as well as other integrations, this is a huge one for you.  Lets get it done!  Its hard to recommend your product to friends with iPhones while they see they can get a Jawbone up that integrates with their new phones...

Well I am considering a replacement for my Flex and as I am very impressed with the way some apps have integrated with IOS8 Health but nothing from Fitbit, I guess I look at the alternatives that do integrate.

I've always thought of FitBit as a cutting-edge type when it comes to leading the pack with new tech.  I'm a bit disappointed that they haven't embraced IOS Health.  I'm even more disappointed with the statement that was posted.  "We haven't made an annoucement" sounds like something out of the mouth of a prevaricating politician.  Loyal FitBit users really deserve better than that.
