Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I'd like to throw in my support as well for a software integration between Fitbit's iOS app and HealthKit.

I've just installed the iOS 8.02 update with the enabled Health Kit. Eagerly waiting now to be able to integrate my Fitbit Force data to it.  Thanks

I don't know what's more concerning: that Fitbit wasn't ready out of the gates (and yes, I'm aware of the backlog for Apple to review apps, as well as the HK issues) -- or the canned responses from their team that if the customer base requests it enough, they will take it under consideration. If this wasn't on the table internally back when HK was initially announced, that's alarming and says a lot about the products' pipeline.

If Fitbit chooses not to integrate with Health app on iOS 8 you will be missing a great opportunity...I for one will probably quit and go with another device as will 4 other members of my family....just wish you would hurry up and get it done.....

I am really looking forward to having my FitBit data go directly into the Apple Health app.  Currently, I have my FitBit account connected with MyFitnessPal, which then connects to the Health app, though the data set is limited.  Even so, I really hope to get that direct connection going so that the data can go directly over instead.

Thank you for everything you do for our health - this one device has made me MUCH more aware of my movement, which I need as a programmer who sits behind a desk all day - every day.

With the Apple Store including fitbit for purchase, there must be some sort of agreement with apple.  Fitbit's decision to maintain radio silence with its users speaks volumes.  This thread is an insult to loyal users.  I get the feeling it is little more than a bone.  They will either claim (1) our users have spoken and we've heard.  We will sync with the apple HealthKit. Or (2) there is not enough interest among fitbit users to justify inclusion.

Whatever the in house reasoning, I now look forward to apple watch and what it has to offer.  I never thought I'd think that, let alone sincerely consider moving in that direction.

Disappointed.

You folks do realize that its possible that the Ap is already done and just waitig for apple to approve it and put it on the store

as of right now there are 16 apps approved and on app store, looks like they are picking up the pace

Please integrate the Fitbit app & Aria with iOS 8 Health. The current app is awesome and I look forward to integration with iOS 8 Health!

I currently use UP24 and the app is severely limited.  I've been seriously considering going back to Fitbit.  They fully integrate with Healthkit, I'm in.  Heck, I think i still have my Fitbit Ultra somwhere around here lol

After doing some research it can take up to 9 days to get an app approved and up on the app store,  Im sure they have submitted it and are waiting for approval,

Please integrate FitBit with the new Health App!

To those who have posted assuming that the app has been submitted, that is great positive thinking. If that is true then why has FitBit not made a public statement that is what they have done? Get on board FitBit, or you will be left behind.

This is just another example of Fitbit being out of touch / unwilling to adapt with what is going on in the world.  While Fitbit customers are STILL waiting for barcode scanner functionality in the iOS app YEARS after it's competitors have offered the functionality, Fitbit will likely support Health Kit integration in 2029 - the same year Apple retires the iPhone.

As much as I would like to love Fitbit, I'm afraid the time has come to bite the bullet and jump ship to far superior technologies.

I'm a bit stunned that HealthKit isn't supported already. I'll be looking at the apple watch more closely next year if fitbit isn't doing this for me.

Fitbit, please rewrite the Fitbit App to include Health App integration. The Jawbone UP app is already integrated.

I get paid a week from Friday.  If you haven't made an announcement by then, I'll buy the UP.  I've loved my fitbit, and I've used it for a few years, but this silence around HealthKit is just annoying.

This is more of a demand, not a request.  You want to see what a pissed off community looks like, go over and check the mycoin credit card sit out!  Link these things or expect to loose a lot of people, create rage in short time, or I will drop this company in a heart beat for something that does support healthkit.  From my fitness tracker to my wireless scale. I have brought numerous of my family/friends over to the fitbit tracking world.  The wireless scales you make are great and I love and use them too. But again, they must be linked. Dont think for a second that people are loyal to any company.  That time frame will run out.

Heres the bottom line, fitbit is scared that by releasing this data that it will hurt their bottom line.  They have a premium service and this may eat into that premium service.  Personally I dont care for the premium service, but I'd bet my paycheck that this is the issue.

If Apple introduces new functionality in their devices then it is incumbent on third party products to be compatible ASAP or lose market share.
