Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Come on FitBit - it's ridiculous that you don't sync with IOS Health!

How ridiculous is that? How many more arguments do you need to get it integrated? I just bought my charge hr and I am really disappointed that it will not integrate with Health app. Please let your customers (you hopefully care of) decide how much integration they need. What are you afraid of?

The truly ridiculous part is that while "they" claim to be listening, there is NO evidence of this.  There is NO evidence of any desire to sync fitbit with HealthKit.

It's NOT happening, people.  There is no secret iOS users want it.  There is no secret how we plan to use it.

It's quite likely a business decision on the part of fitbit.  Whatever it is, it happened between fitbit and Apple quite a while ago, shortly after the apple presser introducing HealthKit.  If you were around back then, you will remember fitbit was displayed prominently.  Apple also offered fitbits for sale through it's online and brick and mortar stores.  When fitbit backed away, apple removed their products.  Since then, there has been no evidence of fitbit's desire to play nicely with apple.

Many apple consumers have simply moved along to other wearables that better meet their needs.  If HealthKit is important to you, what reason is there to stick around fitbit?  None that I can see.

Started with a One, which my son stole. Then I moved to a Charge HR which my wife stole. Now I'm looking for a replacement.

I'm not willing to cough up the money for an Apple Watch, and the Blaze looks like a solid product, but I want something that integrates with all the other data my iPhone collects.

Since Fitbit seems to be adamantly resisting that integration, it looks like I'll be moving along. There are several other brands that offer the HealthKit integration that have all the features I need.

When will Fitbit allow data to sync with the Apple Healthkit?  It is an impediment to research at this point.... I want to participate in a research study that uses data from the apple watch or any Healthkit-linked device.  Unfortunately it wants to collect sleep data, which can't be done with the apple watch because the battery won't last overnight.  So I want my fitbit to supply the data, but it doesn't sync with Healthkit. We've been waiting a very long time, Fitbit.  Please allow data integration asap.

Are we ever gonna see Fitbit being able to synced with the Health App for iPhone?

I just got a Fitbit Charge HR. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of integration with HealthKit. While I'm testing it out, I'm also considering whether or not I would rather go for something that does integrate with HealthKit.

Fitbit, please consider actually acting on integration. I'm afraid that the "under consideration" status of this feature will only hold strong for so long for consumers.

In any case, thanks for what you do.

I'd also like integration with the health app. Was very disappointed to find it did not already exist. Fitbit is such a popular brand I assumed it was fully integrated.

I would really like to see fitbit integrate with HealthKit. In fact, it is what is going to have a lot of weigth on my choice of which smart watch/health watch I am going to purchase.

Thank you, for your consideration.

I would like to see fitbit providing and reading information to apples health app!
This way you could even use smartscales very easily

Please integratrate this feature now, low cost for you and great value for us customers. Health app is there regardless what you plan and many other gadget are already integrated - as customer I want all combined data into my health app.

It's just matter of time before other gadget will provide the same features as you + integration, guess who's winning? See and join the ecosystem! Don't do as Nokia.

I haven't read through other comments, but hopefully someone has. I just want the fitbit app on my apple watch so I can see how many steps I have without looking at my phone or fitbit. I wear the fitbit on one wrist and the apple watch on the other. I still prefer the FB for tracking my steps/stairs etc. I don't want to merge the data, because I wear both and that would be double counting. I just want to see my steps on the watch.

It's been almost 2 years since Apple Health (HealthKit) came out. I love my FitBit One, my FitBit Surge, and my somewhat accurate FitBit Aria. I don't like not having the ability to natively share my data with Apple Health from the FitBit app.

I'm slightly worried that I have to use a third party app to sync my data between my FitBit account and Apple Health when this function should be in the FitBit app. Is there a privacy concern in allowing the FitBit app to read/write to Apple Health? If integration with Apple Health is being worked on, let the community know; we're loyal customers and have come to expect quality products (both hardware and software) from FitBit.

Let us share our data with Apple Health or give us a good reason why FitBit is disallowing it.

Please do not continue to keep us in the dark.

Your steps are automatically recording from Apple Watch to the Apple Watch Activity and Workout App. I have a FitBit Flex and an Apple watch and the steps are usually within 200 steps of each other. You can see it all on the Apple Activity screen. What is the big deal about seeing your FitBit steps on Apple Health? The FitBit App keeps all our info within each reach. The FitBit App is all inclusive. Both platforms are amazing. I do think the FitBit interface is far superior to the Apple Health app. FitBit is the leading platform for fitness information. Relax and enjoy both.

I will give up on fitbit as soon as the new apple watch is released, because your company does not listen to your customers.

@steffieagle they're both fairly accurate and I really do enjoy the FitBit app; I just want all my health data in one location instead of constantly going between apps.

I am relaxed according to my blood pressure. Cheers!

2016 and still no healthkit?   Jeeze.  It is just a matter of writing the data to the database.

FYI I returned my 1st and only fitbit seconds after I recieved it and found out it didn't write my fitbit data to my healthkit database.

I check back every few months, but not holding my breath.

I use two diabetes apps (OneDrop and MySugr Logbook).

They read data from HealthKit. In one place (not sure which app I like the best) I can see my glucose, carbs, activity, and treatments.

But I had ditch Fitbit, because it will not play well with others.

Fitbit brags about all the apps that link with it, but the ones I use for diabetes do not link to Fitbit, but they work with Health Kit.

What motivation do 3rd party apps have to use Fitbit's API (which Fitbit can change whenever they want)? What was the last third party app to join the works with Fitbit list?

"What do you imagine a HealthKit integration would entail and what do you expect to get out of it?"

Data from a fitbit device would load into the HealthKit app whenever the same kind of data wasn't coming from another device. Example, I might wear my Apple Watch during the day and my FitBit at night so I can track all movement and sleep.

I would have bought the Aria scale if it integrated with HealthKit. Instead I bought another bluetooth enabled scale that integrates with HealthKit.

You can charge for this feature and make a bit of money off it.

As it stands, there are workarounds (3rd party apps and manually entering data) that people are already using. So it's probably wise to just offer the feature yourself to make sure it works properly and helps you keep customers.

Please, just do it! I
t's just frustrating! Beside all the negative aspects of missing this feature, the worst is that if you take off your fitbit you are going to miss data from that period in the app and vice versa. For example, if you are using other trackers.
Sure, you can sync it through third-party apps, but it doesn't work well at all and is cumbersome.

Beside all that, I'm looking forward to buy a blaze and an aria...but I sure won't until this integration finally happens.

Again...just do it!

This is a no brainer.. why is this even still an issue.

Please add to next update.. your competition has already done this.. surely it's better to sort this rather than loose market share!!

We have 3 Hr's in the family and we may well reconsider future options without fitbit if these simple issues are not addressed.
