Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

Well when iOS 3 comes out it does integrate features to challenge your friends with Apple Watches so I think I'll start focusing on my Apple Watch too. Maybe we should all just drop our Fitbits for our Apple Watches... 😛

+1 For Apple Health Kit integration.
Seems silly not to.

@Rawdata and @SunsetRunner, yes Apple's watchOS 3 will bring challenges directly to the watch itself. You'll be able to have fun challenging and taunting each other via the native Activity app. If you want to see how that works, check out time index 19'16" of this years Apple's WWDC2016 Keynote. The talk about the soon to be released watchOS 3 actually starts at time index 8'25". And here's a text preview / summary for the new watchOS 3 features.

I've dropped my Fitbits over a year ago and have not looked back. Save your hard earned $$ for much better products and companies that don't deceive its customers.

What Fitbit does not seem to understand is that people which bought iPhone
already bought into iPhone's ecosystem of products and APIs. It's sorry to
see they're not making a rational business decision. Whoever is deciding
this needs to be fired.

I'm tired of all this rubbish.

Fitbit won't support iOS Health and I'm going to stop using fitbit!

My flex is running back to amazon and starting from now I'm wearing a shiny new Garmin Vivosmart HR+

Bye Bye to fitbit and to all the stupid board who don't want to hear what the customers keep asking!

You won't sell my steps anymore!

I would love to see the Fitbit app syncing with Apple HealthKit both ways. I own the Apple Watch and my wife owns a Fitbit Alta. Would be so nice to challenge her.

The two biggest things I want from the Fitbit, Healthkit integration and sedentary reminders (for trackers with HR/not the Alta) have been under review for YEARS with no response. I'm beginning to wonder whether Fitbit listens to customers at all... In the next few months Garmin might have to be its replacement...

@schrepflerI believe that Fitbit and its cohort of execs understand fully the huge impact Apple’s iPhones have today. Their downfall is their dishonesty and arrogance in believing that they can isolate themselves and dominate the fitness tracking industry.

Right or wrong their strategy may be. But their implementation right now is failing in many levels (e.g. ignoring customer requests, poor user interface design, inferior product quality such as problems with syncing, band rashes and failures, etc.). The only things they have going for them right now are flashy marketing campaigns and its online community that Fitbit has suckered users into.

Fitbit has certainly succeeded in making a quick buck out of all of us, not only from us buying its products but also from owning and monetizing OUR data. If you haven’t done so already, stop giving further support (i.e. your money and your data) to Fitbit. It has no interest in anyone but itself and the almighty $. If all the 3000+ folks who voted here for HealthKit integration abandoned ship and stopped giving their data freely to Fitbit now, that would probably be more impactful than any #hashtag or social media campaign.

I'm quite surprised this feature is STILL missing mid 2016!

There are a lot of health enthusiasts on iOS looking for the best and most efficient products to help them optimize their daily routines. Better fitness wearables come out each year, and the decision to not make Fitbit data available on Apple's Health is currently preventing me from purchasing any other products from Fitbit.

The the popularity gaining on iOS' Health App, and other fitness tech utilizing and integrating into the Health App. What makes me want to continue with Fitbit?

In my group of friends on fitbit, I did notice that the users on iOS are not nearly as enthusiastic about the challenges, nor do they even care to bring around their tracking devices with them half of the time.

I feel like I'd be taking a step back having to enter my weight and body fat manually. OR perhaps I can just purchase something that allows me to track my steps, heart rate, body weight, fat % without having to do all the extra manual work?

As strongly as I feel about the community and relationships I have built within the Fitbit community, I always watch out for what's the best for me, and sometimes, what's best is to start over from scratch. I started using Fitbit with no friends, no groups, no communities. I wouldn't be opposed to trying that again with other trackers.

On the plus side, there are third party apps which allow you to synch your data with the Health App, but come on Fitbit, if third party apps are what we rely on to synch data, that's just poor and lazy ethics on your side of the court.

I suppose you see Apple Healthkit as a competitive eco-system.  Get over it.  FitBit ecosystem is a niche. By all means maintain it, but your customers and partners want to integrate with the mainstream iPhone ecosystem, Healthkit.  People want to use Apple Watch for some things, FitBit for others or Garmin for something and FitBit for something else.  How do you do that, by everyone synching with Healthkit!  Get on with it.

Im subsribed to this topic for just 3 days, and my inbox is fully cluttered full or complains of co-fitbit users. 142 pages of requests 3000+ upvotes. Why does fitbit not gives a official statement in either its coming in the future, or we all should forget about this!

Leaning towards selling all Fitbit stuff and never use it since its so badly integrated.

Not with nike+ not with apple healthkit.

Since Fitbit doesn't integrate with any other medical monitoring devices that do integrate with the iOS Health App (such as Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, FruitStreet Food Tracking, Sleep Apnia tracker), and the data in iHealth can't use my Fitbit data, the reporting to my doctor is innaccurate and conflicting.

Please add Healthkit so I can provide a unified set of data, instead of conflicting reporting to my Health Providers.

Data from Apple Health is automatically uploaded to my doctor's medical practice - I'd like my fitness data from FitBit to be included with this to provide a fuller picture of my health.

Please add Apple Health data integration.

If you are as frustrated as I am, I suggest you all to make some noise and take the fight to social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogosphere or whatever. Where's your #hashtag for fitbit?Smiley Frustrated

Hey, Fitbit ... what on earth could be the advantage of not interfacing with the Apple Health app?  Can you do it?  Please?

It is a bit sad that the healthkit has been around for over TWO YEARS and Fitbit has still refused to integrate with it.

Don't kid yourselves... we all know why you are dragging your feet.  The Apple Watch came on the market, and you felt threatened by it so you tried to box it out.  Well, for me personally, that did not work.  Instead of keeping my Charge HR and avoiding the Apple Watch, when I got the opportunity to get an Apple Watch, I dropped Fitbit completely (instead of continuing to use the Fitbit app WITH my Apple Watch).

This is pretty short-sighted, if you ask me. The big value of your company is similar to Facebook's value... it isn't the technology you provide to your users, it the the ability to obtain data on a huge pool of users and then leverage that data.  Most of us users understand that and accept it as part of the deal of using a good product that we find helpful to our lives.

My Apple Watch is now my preferred fitness tracker, because I also use it for lots of other things.  I will not come back to Fitbit until you actually use all the data from the Apple Watch.  Until then, have a nice life and I wish you well... but I fear your company will slide into oblivion.  [And to be clear, I'm not just an Apple fan boy... you should also have the same integration for data from any other device, or at least any other device that makes the data freely available to a user's phone.  Why should you care where the data comes from?  You just want to have the data, no?  Well, until you make this change, MY data is off limits to you.]
