Integrate with iOS Health

Hi there,

I'm really excited about Apple's announcement of the Health App in iOS 8 to be release this fall.  I'm looking forward to seeing a product announcement by Fitbit for a successor to the recalled Fitbit Force, and I'm really hoping to hear some exciting news about Fitbits intigration with Apple's new Health App to be released alongside iOS 8 this fall.

This is a huge oportunity to make your devices even smarter and more integrated - Please support these APIs!  Thanks!

I think I may follow you on that and get an Apple iWatch. I recently got a Fitbit Surge and I was shocked when i realised that the app did not sync with the Health app despite all the requests. It's been over 2 years; that's an eternity of tech years if you ask me.

I don't think they really care about the people who use their products; I am so tired of sending my money to companies who care more about their bottom line and show no interest, no consideration for their customers. I am taking my money somewhere else and I am spreading the word about their business culture/practices. How about that for a change?? At least I know my people of Facebook and Twitter are listening! Time to send another tweet about this mess! Smiley MadMan MadCat MadWoman Mad

Yeah, I'm a new user that wanted a health solution that was more fully-formed than my Apple Watch, so I bought a One (which I really enjoy). But the very fact this doesn't integrate data into Health seems insane to me?

At first I thought maybe I just couldn't find the option to share, but now learning that you guys apparently thought it was a good idea to obmit on purpose?

History is filled with failed companies that fight against change, rather than embracing and enhancing it. The longer the iPhone exists the more people will be utilizing Health and counting on it, and companies that ignore this feature will be passed over for ones that offer data sharing as a feature...

I can say - for one such person - you've already lost a sale. There's no way I'm buying my wife one of these, even though she loves the idea of the challenges, she also uses Health every day to track data. She'll get a good laugh learning that you don't support it...

Unfortunately seeing this top feature request has driven me to stop using my Fitbit and start using my Apple Watch again. I find it frustrating for a company to state they listen to their users and then not even consider/talk/implement a highly requested feature...so either they don't jump on these forums and see this conversation OR they do get on the forums and skip over this conversation entirely... either way, until this feature gets implemented I won't be using Fitbit. at least allow it for people who has BOUGHT a fitbit

I actually gave my Fitbit away... they lost a customer in me... I am solely using my iwatch until the Fitbit administration comes to their senses

I went from Fitbit to Withings to Apple Watch. I will never support any Fitbit product again because of this policy.

Please bring this feature to the table. I want to be able to use different devices, and sync with Apple Health. Willing to pay a subscription fee for this.

I didn't know that Apple health app Is counting steps which is the main reason I got Fitbit. The data in Apple health app is pretty accurate. To my surprise Fitbit is not integrated with Apple health.

I think FitBit is relying solely on sales but if updated features are not provided then how will sales increase. This is high time that Fitbit takes a serious look at integrating with Apple health app to retain majority of customers.

I love my Fitbit. I also love my iPhone. Having to give up either one would be a tragedy but since Fitbit is not yet included on the Apple Health app, it's seriously limiting. Given the amount of support that other competitors fitness app have on the Apple platform, it's sad to see Fitbit lagging behind. If I have to choose, I'll lose the Fitbit rather than the phone. Since the Fitbit has helped me to do as it's designed and get me fit, it will be a sad day.

As a long-time Fitbit user, I've been waiting for HealthKit support for a long time. It's frustrating because I don't get credit for Fitbit challenges if I only have my Apple Watch on; I have to take my phone with me.

Recently I started using Playground, and it gives me a similar experience to the Fitbit app - challenges between friends, daily leaderboards - but works directly out of HealthKit. At this point I basically just need my Apple Watch or phone, and don't even bother with a Fitbit anymore.

If Fitbit doesn't acknowledge the importance of frameworks like HealthKit and Google Fit, then it's just a matter of time before Playground (or someone like them) comes along and provides a better, cheaper (or in this case, even free) experience.

And now to add insult to injury, I have just received a mail from Fitbit asking me to participate in a survey as they would 'love to hear my feedback about my latest purchase ' of my Alta. So I click on the link , thinking that maybe they will take notice of my complaint regarding the IOS integration if it comes from a more 'official' source than a discussion board. They ask me what country I live in ( South Africa) and when I reply, I am informed that the survey does not apply to me.....bad marketing on SO many levels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to add my voice to the conversation. It would be great for Apple and Fitbit to have a catch up at the gym, or over a healthy salad and discuss the future and how we can integrate both technologies on one friendly app.

I would most definitely like to see an integration between Fitbit and Apple HealthKit.  The linkup between the apps would not cause me to stop using Fitbit's app, I would be using both to get a more comprehensive picture of my data.  Please consider adding this feature in the near future!

Come on FitBit, Apple get yourselves together, and make this happen.  I've started using another app for my diabeties.  This new app sync with my Apple Health, so should the FitBit.

@Gleeo You do know that this is completely Fitbit's decision and has nothing to do with Apple, right? Apple has an open API which is why so many other companies have integrated with Apple Health. Fitbit has chosen not to integrate with Apple Health due to their own, internal business decisions. If you truly need this functionality my recommendation would be to use another fitness tracker. Most of the big ones already integrate.

Please integrate Fitbit with Apple health. Very frustrated this isn't a reality already.

If Apple made a low profile fitness band, I would have happily bought one. They don't, so I'm trying the HR. +1 on HealthKit integration.

@Ledcreigh, there are many fitness bands out there that integrate with HealthKit. The Vivosmart series from Garmin have waterproof versions that are much more durable than Fitbit products. There are also good alternatives from Withings and Jawbone.

I don't know if you've had a chance to read other Fitbit discussion threads. There are many complains with quality control ranging from inaccurate step counts, premature band failures, continuing band rashes, bluetooth sync issues, etc. in its products ranging from the Charge to the Blaze. Looks like Fitbit has many fires to fight. It's doubtful it has time and resources to implement HealthKit Integration any time soon.

It's been over 2 years and counting since Fitbit itself started this thread. Absolutely nothing has moved on this issue so far. If you want to be ignored and hopelessly wait for integration to happen, by all means stick with Fitbit.

Yes please! This would be so helpful to a lot of peole since Apple Health isn't just for walking, it gives you the whole picture of your health.

There's no point replying here. Despite Fitbit saying this is where we should put requests, even after thousands, they still don't implement what we have been asking for for years.

I love my new iPhone and my Fitbit.  I am very dismayed to find out that they do not sync and viewing all of the previous comments and requests from people in this forum am very disappointed in Fitbit for not providing a solution.  Please fix this and provide a sync for Apple Health & Fitbit.

I love my Fitbt Charge HR but the inability to fully sync with the Health app on my iPhone is a big concern for me.  I am hoping that Fitbit resolves this issue soon or in the future I can see myself migating to the Apple Watch.
